Hotel was one of the nicest that we have stayed in. Food was fantastic, staff was always smiling and willing to help anytime. I would recommend to anyone looking to book in Jamaica.

Excellent check in at the Crystal Lounge Travis was good. Kids Club NAOKA was great and always greeted my son by name and with a smile. Hotel was clean. Patio chair needs cleaning. No slippers in room, no wash cloth until after lunch the day after check in although we called reception and was told "shortly" Asked housekeeper for an extra blanket which never arrived, we somehow shared one very small blanket for 2 beds. Otherwise hotel was good, well manicured.

Make sure you know about the Adults only luxury side, unless you want kids everywhere. And the "all-inclusive" meals including restaurants means buffets and only two night of sit down dinners which were just buffets with waiters. This place was AWFUL! Room service was a joke, a menu consisting of only a burger (awfully cooked), hot dog (terrible), cheese pizza (only before 10pm and again, awful) or chicken nuggets. I am sorry, I was embarrassed to take my girlfriend here. Only buiffets for breakfast and lunch, unless you want to pay $50 per person for them to bring breakfast to your room which looked like they sent someone to the buffet to fill a plate and bring it to you. Mini bar had 2 beers and they brought two small bottles of liquor only on day one and would not restock those, even though I showed them the card in the room said they would be restocked daily. If you really want to stay here for some strange reason, get room only and leave for meals. Anything was better than what they served and honestly a five minute drive and there are some good places to eat. The "sushi" bar was food poisoning waiting to happen, the poolside swim up bar was OK but the service was terrible and if you asked twice they scoff at you, even if you waited five minutes before reminding them and there was no one else asking for a drink. The snack bar looked like something you expect at a baseball game, but that would be an insult to stadium food. Really, I am not exaggerting here, for anyone to say this is 5 stars is either being paid to say that or has no idea what a real 5 star resort is. Everyone has their hadn out for a tip at all times, even when I was told tipping was not allowed for all-inclusive customers. They say for the 'butler" service dry cleaning is included but really only for one shirt and one pair of pants, and someone jsut flat out lied when they said complimentary laundry service. Airport transfers will mean ytou have to wait for other people at other hotels and then drop them off along the way, and no one ever told me that I had to be ready to leave on my departure day at a certain time so I had to pay $100 for a taxi. My flight was at 2pm and they wanted me to leave at 9:15, probably because they were picking up more people along the way. When a resort says transfers included, I expect other people from my hotel, not from 4 other hotels! All in all, I felt duped and while this was not incredibly expensive, it was not worth it AT ALL!!!

STAYING AT GRAND BAHIA IN RUNAWAY BAY WAS BY FAR THE BEST RESORT I HAVE EVER VISITED. ME AND MY WIFE HAD THE TIME OF OUR LIVES AND HAS BEEN RECOMMENDING THE RESORT TO OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS. THE STAFF WAS AWESOME THE FOOD WAS GREAT & THE PEOPLE THAT WERE STAYING THERE AS WELL WAS TERRIFIC

Have stayed at many resorts in the tropics and this was very disappointing. Room was not cleaned daily, bed made and new towels brought in but never opened shower or took out dirty wet towels. Saw roaches in hallways and 2 restaurants. 1 was walking around the bread buffet. Called 3x about shower low draining, although they said someone would be there shortly never did this happen. Took showers in slimy ankle deep water entire time. Buffet constantly running out of food, plates and bowls. Witnessed shuffle over plates by vacationers. Took 30 minutes for each coffee refill. Was told by staff this was not their busy season, would hate to see service then. Very disappointed!

The hotel was in need of significant updating. The bathrooms were disgusting. I did not find the upgraded restaurants to be worth the challenges of getting a reservation in spite of the fact that they were half empty when we arrive. The Wen was the same in all restaurants and was mediocre. The drinks were mostly juice and minimal alcohol. The swimming pool was beautifully ful and the stag, in general, helpful. The beach was small and rocky on the borders which limited the ability to go for a long walk on the beach. There was little entertainment relevant to adults. This should be listed as a family only program.

beautiful large resort, rocky beaches, no beach activities available, no poolside drink service, awful gym (3lb weights and some old cardio and random pieces.. if you note it is not pictured anywhere). Seaview suite was nice, and the room was fine. Mini bar had 2 Red Stripe beers, some sprite and coke. I thought rooms had liquor. Food was not the greatest. The restaurants you can book for dinner are the best part.

I was recommended to Apple Vacation by my boss. He had taken his staff to cancun last year and it was phenomenal. I was on edge on booking with them especially since 2 of my friends going was their first time to the Caribbean. Apple definitely delivered! We stayed at the Grand Bahia Principe in Jamaica and it was amazing! The room had was top floor with the view of all of the hotel pool and beach! We had a separate check in lobby they called "VIP" and went over all the amenities and everything offered in our package. We were also given to private restaurant dinners. The only downside was after checking in, our room took close to 2 hours to be ready. That was rough because we arrived on a Saturday and wanted to get our vacation started asap. Aside from that, the staff a apple recognized us in the midst of the crowd and asked if everything was ok and up to our expectations. Plus, due to my extensive research, they were able to price match and walk me through everything. Now, I am afraid to book vacations with anyone else beside Apple Vacations.

The resort is lovely. Our room and its view were exceptional. The food was pretty good. We enjoyed the jerk chicken at the beach restaurant. Overall, the resort is pretty noisy. The music is REALLY loud at the pool and the DJ shouts constantly. Between the rowdy parties on our floor and the fire alarm going off in the middle of the night on three separate occasions, it was hard to get a good night's sleep. We spent most of our time at the beach where it was more peaceful. Snorkeling at the resort was surprisingly good. We were looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation. We enjoyed ourselves, but because of the noise and loud music, we probably would not return.

We were at this resort Jan. 8-18/ 18. First our luggage was lost at the airport. Told it would arrive the next day and be delivered to the hotel. Arrived at hotel and informed front desk our luggage would be arriving the next day. We were assured it would be brought to our room when it arrived...... 2 days later, found it in lost and found 😡... strike one. Day 4 ... woke up to 2 inches of water in our room ( heavy rain during the night) called down to front desk at 8 am, was told someone would come. Called at 8:30, 9:00, 9:30, some was always “coming” . Went down to front desk requested for someone to come ASAP ( water is now in hallway, carpet is soaked). Told again someone was coming soon. Returned to our room around 4 in the afternoon, to find the room had not been touched. Went downstairs again ... demanded the manger to come with me. After an hour and half of maintenance , housekeeping and the manger coming in and out of the room we were moved down the hall. No upgrade no nothing... strike number 2...😡 While unpacking into our new room we were surprised when 4 people opened the door.. 2 housekeepers stood outside, 2 gentlemen inspected the room. I asked them what they were doing, they said it was a “ inspection of the bedding and the towels “ strike 3. This is our 9th winter holiday, I have never ever had such a horrible experience. The staff and mangers need a complete overhaul... also the Westjet advisor on the resort. They always say “ someone” will come.... I think “someone “quit along time ago... The building also needs some upkeep... rug in the hallways, water issues ( leaking from the roof in the lobby, in the rooms, and down the walls) . The resort is mediocre..... food was ok, entertainment was ok, grounds were kept up and the beach was clean. Just a heads up on a few things, There are a few cats on the grounds ( by the swim up bar, and in the outside dining area) never bothered us. There is no snack bars by the pool or the main lobby in the afternoon. The beach does have some rocky areas, but you can always move down the beach for more sandy areas. People with mobility issues, there are a lot of stairs. We stayed in room 11302... it was a beautiful room, view was breathtaking ... until is flooded. Room was close to the dining area and pool area. In the end it was the poor management and staff that ruined our holiday, hopefully they can rectify this issue before they destroy someone else’s.

Just arrived back home to Chicago from a week at the Bahia with friends. In the weeks leading up to our vacation the reviews had us fearful of what we might be getting ourselves in to. So glad we didn't listen! What a great time we had. The ala carte restaurants were top notch and offered a lot of variety. Even the buffets were different from day to day. Loved the jerk chicken at the Piscis by the beach. The nightly shows highlighted the true talents of the performers. The Michael Jackson Show was a definite favorite. But the true surprise for us were the people. We had heard mixed reviews on the hospitality but couldn't have been more shocked. Gerrick, my main man at the Hibyscus pool bar, was always ready with a smile, a drink and a conversation for us. Gonna miss that guy. Mario, "the shortest guy on property," kept us busy with poolside activities. Alycia was our housekeeper and we always came back to a freshly made room at the end of our day. Other wait staff and front desk personnel were accommodating. The projects are ongoing there. We saw painters and landscapers and maintenance always hard at work but stopping for a smile and a friendly greeting as we passed. Truly a great week. For those looking for complaints, here are a few. It rained, slightly, every day but ALL the resorts in Jamaica felt that. There were a few times the bar ran low on liquor, which might have been a blessing for me. And for those worried about critters...we saw one crab on the beach, a single lizard the size of my finger on the sidewalk and zero bees. Oh, and a kitty cat appeared from time to time. Reports otherwise are highly exaggerated. And the Luxury version next door is boring and uneventful. Stay at the Grand. Come see for yourself and make your own decisions. Remember that you're on vacation and it's supposed to be fun.

I flew a few weeks ago. My Fiancee had to pretty much drag me home by my ear. The staff there are so great! They are the nicest, most accomidating and fun people I've ever met. They all went above the call of duty. It would be wrong of me to not highlight each and every person that made mine and my fiancee's trip as great as it was. So here it goes to Jerome when we got there we were fumbling around looking for where to go. Right away he brought us over and made us some of the best drinks I've ever had. Every time we came up to the bar or saw him walking around he put a smile on our face. Timoy did the best showmanship making drinks I've ever seen. Every time you put on your sunglasses it was show time and Stephanie and I loved it. As well I got to experience drinks I've never heard of. Colin every time he greeted us was with a smile on his face it was contagious. His drinks were fantastic as well. Now to the entire entertainment team. Me and Stephanie miss you all so much. Romario you were great and always made our days so much fun going above and beyond the call of duty. Lushane you went above and beyond the call of duty. You were always smiling and making our day that much brighter. Kevin I'm going to practice to beat you perhaps next time in beer chugging. Thanks again for teaching me bar tricks. Mytheline my bestie learning dominos was a blast. Hopefully we can play next time. Topal girl you made our stay fun and hilarious. Cyril dude those dance moves...priceless. Kungfu panda I'm going to beat you in croquet next time. Brandon your jokes were hilarious. Although I don't remember you doing the race like I did lol. We miss you all so much hopefully we will see you all in two years. To the managers please note everyone I mentioned. And get better beds on the family side please.

Room had leak from AC unit. No free WIFI had to pay for safe to store valuables in the room. Its a time share so staff is always asking you to buy. Beach is not good. Had breakfast and egg shell was in the scramble eggs. Food was cold and had no taste. No good shopping and shops that are there are very expensive.

My husband and I just got back a week ago from this resort and we had a amazing time! I was a little worried about going because of the state of emergency that had been put in place a week before we were set to leave but you wouldn’t even know that there was anything going on . We felt very safe and had no worries at all ! With some of the bad reviews I was questioning our choice but it turns out those people just like to complain about everything!!! We had an amazing time great people, everyone was so friendly and always asking if we needed anything. The food was great ,the buffet always had something for me to eat and I’m a little picky.breakfast is amazing , the omelettes are soooo good . We had 3 a la carts don poblo was very good , the garden grill was also good , I forgot my sunglasses there and went back and our waiter had put them aside he even remembered me . Now for the Italian restaurant it was NOT good at all ! My husband and I both had the lasagna and it was extremely salty I could barely eat it maybe the other food on the menu is better. The only the thing that I would say is a negative is the people trying to scam you into join there so called privileged club timeshare thing !!! When we were talking to the lady she told us is was just to see if we would want to upgrade to there luxury side DO NOT DO IT !! IT IS NOT WORTH THE FREE GIFT !! Really pissed us off but besides all that we had a great time . Make sure you tip your mini bar guy , we forgot the one day and he didn’t give u# any water or coffee . Oh and if you want a coconut to drink find one of the groundskeepers they will get one right off the tree ,it was very good and a great hangover cure 👍oh and the bartenders are very heavy handed when pouring drinks so watch out if you are not a big drinker. All in all it was great first vacation and we will return!
