Honeymoon visit

My wife and I recently spent a few days of our honeymoon at Gamboa Rainforest Resort. We had a fantastic time there. The highlights for us were the tours available at the resort, we did the cable car tour including the sloth sanctuary and butterfly and orchid exhibits. We were lucky enough to see quite a lot of wildlife activity while in the cable car including sloths, howler monkeys, a snake, parrots, toucans and a rare laughing falcon. We also did the night safari which was good for something to do for half an hour. As mentioned by previous reviewers, this hotel could use a major refurbishment. The damp climate has taken its toll on the elements of the building and could use a freshen up. Only other point of critisism was with the service at the monkey bar, one or 2 employees here could work on their attitude and maybe crack a smile. The restaurant staff were very attentive and the food while we stayed there was delicious. Overall this was a great experience despite the mosquitos failed sabotage attempt!

Great Place, Excellent Staff

A lovely property right in the middle of a rain forest ! Excellent facilities and very helpful staff. There are number of recreations offered by the hotel including night safari - we were lucky to spot a baby crocodile and few sloths in night. Rooms are basic and there are bugs around (but what can you expect in a rainforest) :)

The setting is amazing beautiful views Of the rainforest and river but that is all the Gamboa reaort can offer For 18 years old the place is not tired it is exhausted The rooms are very basic and not worthy of 3 or 4 stars that the hotel is given Pool is lovely but again tired and pool bar open when they feel like it. Out of all the restaurants and bars on offer only the buffet restaurant is open in the low season Bar and reataurant staff are quite miserable it appears to be an effort to serve you. Not the best experience of such a stunning environment 1 or 2 nights is enough to experience the rain forest it is More of a backpackers paradise than a luxury resort that we were sold!! Spa is advertised but closed!! It is like a ghost town. Drinks ran out they dont care and we changed room 3 times! I am Not a person to give negative fedback but in this instance it is nexessary as other travellers deserve to know the truth!

Excellent service and kind an thoughtful management.

We booked a night at this resort and discovered they did not get the booking. Since a large group had completely booked the resort, they went completely out of their way to help us by comping, yes comping our night in a lovely Westin Hotel on the beach with dinner, breakfast drinks everything included. On top of that they came and picked us up and comped the three wonderful tours of the Gamboa Resport, The monkey island boat tour, the areal rainforest tour and the Orchid and Sloth tour with private guides for all. We so appreciate all you did for us and made my nephews birthday celebration even more spectacular with two birthday cakes!!! Both the Gamboa and Westin Resorts are "Berm properties. Excellent over the top service.Thank you thank you.

Great place to visit!

I stayed there for a week at the conference. Everything was amazing, the service, food, room, amenities! I would recommend it to everyone who likes the nature as you will be surrounded with animals, however, there are also all services you might need (spa, conference room, pool, great restaurant, etc.) Great job!
