Old and without imagination

The resort is not the destination it is the surrounding nature. Food is poor, the choices of food poor, restaurant service poor, wine list poor and a lot of «  no hay ». Looks like the management is running this hotel by cutting on services. But the surrounding nature is something to see, very beautiful. I will remember this trip because of Mother Nature not the hotel. It is a choice to make but with all the informations.

No view, no hammack, no chairs, no confirmation of excursion booking

The hotel is not bad, but does not give what was promised. We are at the 0 level, so There is no river view, through we booked a rivervview room. Also There are no hammock, no chair at the balcony , so all in all paying 160 for only the room feels far too much. The hotel, neither tourdesk nor reception does not reply emails, so we were very unsure about booking of excursion . But it is nice at the pool, most if staff is freindly. I Would give it a much higher mark if it was half of the prize, for this amount of Money you Would expect better service

Amazing resort

The place is superb and just right in the middle of the jungle, the rooms are honest and super well detailed. The staff is great and super available for everything, I got just some problem to move from the hotel To colon to see the canal

Great Birding Destination

This is a large hotel (165 rooms) 45 minutes outside of Panama City. While it is a little tired (the climate probably mandates constant painting, repairing), the view from the rooms is to die for, and birds are everywhere. We came with a group of 48 Birders, and no one complained about rooms or service. The transport to the Canal (nearby) and to Birding sights was exemplary, with really knowledgeable guides. We had included buffets for meals: adequate but hardly fine dining. Two other available dining areas, but service there extremely slow. Fabulous ice cream parlor. Pool area A+. Good value for the money

Beautiful location but in need of some loving care.

Located on the Chagres River where it joins the Panama Canal where every room has a view of the river. Rooms are comfortable and clean but we needed to make multiple requests for our hammock and chairs for our deck. This resort is in a rainforest with 80% humidity so expect some musty smells as people have commented on previously. It's a rainforest for goodness. The resort could use some overall maintenance but I expect it's a neverending job. Located near a sloth preserve which also had a butterfly, orchid, and poison frog display that only cost $21 per person to visit and is a 10 minute walk from resort. Staff at resort is friendly but English is a second language so expect some challenges. Resort is advertised as a 4 star resort with bikes and kayaks. It's a 3 star and there are no bikes and kayaks to use. They need to stop saying they have them for guests. Lots of stairs to navigate. They do have elevators but not convenient or out of the way. Great location, clean and comfortable rooms, but it's like time has passed it by.
