My opinion on Friendly
Jul 09 2013
All the reviews I have seen on this hotel ware fairly accurate, staff everywhere in a hotel wonderful, willing to go above and beyond to please you, very clean hotel, even though it is pretty old, on the other hand, food is so so, no choices on a daily basis , but what ever they had was good and I did not get sick even once, entertainment is in Spanish only, hotel had 95% of occupancy Mexican families with kids, and about 300 teenagers so if you don't mind very loud speakers by the pool and 300 teens running around drinking and screaming you are going to feel right at home there, not a place for someone who wants peace and calm surroundings.

I have been at the "Friendly" several times before. This time in Jan 2012 we took our adult children their wives along. We all had a great time. So much so that I am going back in March 2012.

This is our second trip with apple to PV. Both years we stayed at the Friendly Vallarta. Using Apple made us feel that we had a 'safety net' just in case. AA was fantastic. It was comforting to have an Apple rep meet us at the airpport, hotel and on the last day be there to put us in our cab. Friend Vallarta Resort - on word - excellent. We are already looking forward to next January and celebrating our 7th anniversary. Much gracias Apple

We have traveled to Mexico many times and found the staff at the Friendly Vallarta to be top notch. Almost everyone spoke English extremely well and took very good care of us. Maybe that is because we like to tip the people that provide us with good service?? No matter, was very happy with the resort and quite surprised by some of the previous poor reviews we had read before going. This is not a huge mega-resort, but a bit more intimate. The location is great as well as downtown being a quick bus ride away. The beach is very nice as well. Pool area is nice, but a little on the smaller side. No room service or in-room refrigerator, but that would be my only complaints. Hoping to bring all the kids back with us next year.

Amazing experience at Las Palma's Hotel!!!

I came to San fully pay about 1.5 weeks ago! I stayed at Las Palmas hotel and I could not have been more happy with my choice! As soon as we got there we immediately felt welcomed and at home! The staff could not have been nicer and more helpful. As well, the restaurant there was to-die-for! It had a very nice atmosphere and was close to the beach and the town. The hotel is also very kid-friendly. Overall, i had an amazing time at Las Palma's Hotel! Thanks, Ben

If you are looking for a place to relax this is it! Is conveniently located walking distance to the beach, restaurants, etc. Is on a huge lot which makes parking easy and safe. The staff was very nice and attentive. Also they have on site restaurant that is one of a kind! I had pasta Alfredo with shrimps that were huge. The bar had plenty of options and the pool area was nice. Will definitely return soon

I don't often give feedback, but this time I had to. I had reserved at Las Palmas Hotel about a month before our arrival, we stayed there June 17, 2017. We had a family reunion and was looking for a nice, safe, fun place to spend time with my family, some traveling from Mexico and others from the USA. Everything was going fine in town, until we got to hotel. Never in my life had I been in a hotel where we needed to be escorted to the room prior to releasing key, and believe me, I've traveled to many places and many countries. Apparently, to make sure everything was in order. But it was to make sure we were in agreement with hotel staff on number of towels in room, but mostly, they wanted to check the number of people staying in each room to make sure we did not exceed the number allowed per room . Since we were a big group, we had to wait for receptionist to walk each family to each room . Waiting to enter the room took FOREVER. It was hot, we wanted our room fast ! The same nonsense procedure was done at checkout. They wanted everyone out of the room and receptionist needed to come check the room AGAIN to make sure all was in order so we could get our deposits back. Yes, $20 deposit for each room. Well, happens that in one of the room we had a towel missing. I was so upset by then, all I wanted is to finish checkout and leave. Towels were old and dirty, we had no need to take any of their stuff, come on!! Hotel isn't cheap, big deal for one lost rusty towel that believe me, no one took. I should mention too that our room did not have hot water, yes who needs hot water when you are by the beach with over 100 degrees? Well, my children do as the rooms get cold with the AC. I reported this to management and apparently, they would take care of it first thing in the morning. They never did. Mediocre and unfriendly staff. The night we checked in we all jumped into the pool. Happens it was dark and we didn't see the sign with specification on pool rules and we were not told anything at check-in. One of our family members had a cooler with drinks, well, an employee rushed to him and demanded to get out of pool area with drinks. There are ways to approach the situation if this was an issue. Again, bad bad unprofessional staff. Next day in the morning we all rushed to pool again and happens that one of the children took some food to pool area and same thing happened. An employee rushed to pool area to remind of rules and demands he walks down to eating section. By then, we were all ready to leave feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. I must also mentioned that coffee and cookies were available for guest, or for only SOME guest. As we noticed that when we helped ourselves, employees started packing everything up. Seems they had an issue with nationals and not with foreigner guest, or so that's the impression we all perceived. So debriefing with family members we all concluded to never go back to Las Palmas Hotel unfortunately. The hotel itself was descent, beds were comfortable and pool was ok, but everything else fell. If I don't feel welcome, I don't return . We paid a service and the least I expected was to be treated as if they were doing us a favor. Hotel is NOT beach front either, just to mention. So, with that said, I hope my review gets read by hotel management and I hope they figured out who I was . Not what I was hoping for.

We arrived in San Felipe late in the evening and we were unsure what would be available .We asked around and a few people recommended Las Palmas Hotel The Hotel Staff were very kind and we were surprised how nice and clean our room was. We slept very nice and the next day we had a wonderful meal and relaxed at the pool. The view from the Bar area of the Coast is awesome and we were very close to the Beach. Everything was priced very affordable and all of the workers attended to our every request. San Felipe is a great destination because it rivals many other places in Mexico due to the amount of Americans that live there full time. Our Kids Loved the Hotel and played in the pool and on the Hotel grounds. What a great Town and Vacation spot to take the Family that is so close to the States.
