We have been coming here year after year with our 2 kids because it’s the only place we have been where we are guaranteed an amazing vacation. The service, the food, and the activities make it absolutely heaven on earth!

It should get more than 5 stars

This hotel is absolutely gorgeous. The facilities, and ambiance are magnificent. The people working here are genuinely friendly and always helpful. One negative is that they charge for yoga classes, which seems a bit petty since the prices charged are exhorbitant. Overall worth it if you have some money to burn.

five stars for sure, but nature disrupted

The service, food, atmosphere, and rooms are wonderful at this hotel. The grounds are lovely, well manicured and filled with wildlife. The food was fresh and delicious. The staff is well trained and very friendly. My husband started getting sick and it was nice to have a doctor on staff where he could get some medicine. We took a couple of guided tours which were good. Unfortunately, there was one area that needs improvement. I was hesitant to give it five stars because every night the tranquility and beauty of nature were disrupted by private parties and live music. (And some of the music was pretty poor quality) These parties happened on both beaches every night of our stay. Instead of listening to the animals and breaking waves in the evening, we got to listen to live music and people partying. (Which Is exactly the opposite of what I was looking for) - and because there were private parties it also put a damper on taking a romantic stroll on the beach after dinner or sitting in the lovely screened porches before bed. This isn’t what I was expecting from the four seasons or at a hotel at this price point. I was really looking forward to this portion of our trip but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations. I would like to suggest that they could use acoustic music for beach parties without amplifiers. The music went on until 10 some nights. I think 9 is late enough for the music when it affects other guests. Overall I can’t deny that this resort deserves 5 stars.

My all-time favorite vacation!! :)

My husband and I heard about the fabulous Four Seasons Costa Rica from another family while on a Tropicsurf holiday at the Four Seasons Kuda Huraa in the Maldives a few years ago. Once we finally got around to visiting, we were so impressed with this resort!!! First of all, the Four Seasons Costa Rica is drop dead gorgeous and recently renovated. Even better than the lux set-up, though, were the fantastic Four Seasons staff, and the oustanding Tropicsurf outpost at the hotel. Our family surf guide through Tropicsurf, Jesse, was so wonderful with our three children and we were all standing up and surfing faster than we could have ever thought possible. Even my Mom caught a wave!! Malcolm and Anise were also super helpful setting us up with an amazing room and organizing our surf trips. The staff at the Four Seasons was also truly outstanding. A big shout-out to Enrique at the Recreation Department, who taught my Mom and I traditional Costa Rican dance, and gave us some awesome insider tips on what to see during our stay! Josie at Recreation was also an outstanding snorkel guide and so friendly and helpful, and Henry at Anejo Restaurant was the most amazing morning smoothie maker and generally provided fantastic service. Thank you to everyone at the Four Seasons Penisula Papagayo for making our trip so special - we were all really sad to leave and can't wait to visit again!!!

I loved staying at the Four Seasons. The property was absolutely beautiful! The staff were very accommodating and helpful. I love running and they went out of their way to show me a great route for running The pools are great with plenty of seats and umbrellas. The property had a nice variety of restaurants and all were delicious!
