Perfect for our trip!

We had a great trip to St Thomas! Emerald Beach is very close and convenient to the airport, easy check in, on the beach with a beverage 15 minutes after we grabbed our luggage. The staff was professional and welcoming. All the rooms are beachfront. The " Blue Flag" designated beach is beautiful and was not crowded til the big cruise ships docked mid week. The beaches in St Thomas are all public and Emerald Beach is close by for the cruisers seeking a day on the sand. The facilities were clean, though ocassionally a bit worn. Taxis readily available ....~$6/person to town, ~$10-15/person to Red Hook for charters. Never wished we had rented car. This isn't the Ritz but we didn't want to pay Ritz prices. Excellent value for the price point. Will definitely stay here again.

I only have a couple of complaints. Having arrived in early afternoon our check-in time was not until 4:00 pm. Although the food in the restaurant was good it was rather pricey. Other than that we had a very pleasant stay.

Everyone at the hotel were very nice and helpful. The hotel was very old but updating some, room was clean but would have loved a microwave. No beach activities, they could have done so much more, music, waiters at the beach and pool would have been perfect. Around the beach needs cleaning up a bit, junkie looking. Sunday people invaded the beach and pool arean that were not staying there, we were told that to outsiders chairs were &$7 but was not practiced. Hotel is very convenient to shopping, etc.

We just returned from our vacation and had a wonderful time. The view from the hotel room was beautiful. The room was very nice and roomy and there were plenty of electric outlets, closet space and sinks. There were only two minor problems which were addressed immediately. The food in the restaurant was very good and we enjoyed the open air seating. there were plenty of lounges and umbrellas on the beach and at the pool.

All the rooms had beautiful ocean view. No waves, warm ocean water, sandy beaches without rocks! No elevators, but liked being on the second floor, for privacy and safety. The resort was not fancy/sofisticated but we were comfortable. Free WiFi and free internet available to guests .Beachcomber restaurant next to our resort good food! We were worried because the airport is located across from the resort. Airport closes at 7:00 and a handful of planes land and depart. Room was comfortable, radio alarm clock in room, a small refrigerator and two luggage racks! Clean beach towels were not always available. Resort was not fancy/sofisticated but we were comfortable. Tropical Tour Staff was punctual and friendly!

This hotel was exactly what I expected for the price. It is in need of some updates but people need to understand that right now it is one of very few hotels open and they are working everyday on repairing hurricane damage. The pool is great, the beach is quite lovely although rocky (apparently this is new since the hurricane). Food was ok, drinks are good :) I did speak with someone from the hotel at one point and she did say that they would be updating and making some changes, especially since all the other hotels that are under repair will be fierce competition come time for them to open. Right next to the airport, cabs at all times and close to Main St. (about 7-8 min cab ride).

Been here way to long for this CRAP!!

I arrived here on October 28th., for the purpose of helping my fellow caribbeanite's get back on their feet. I'm a manager for an environmental cleaning company based here in the VI. I'm currently STILL staying at this "resort", its been over a month and I have yet to bathe in hot water. I've been complaining about this from the very beginning and not a thing has been done. Apparently the box that controls this function ( located under my bathroom sink) is not working and they have no intention of repairing it. My next issues lie with the housekeeping staff (oxymoronic) they "clean" my room only when they feel like it or only after I complain about it. Some days it doesn't get done at all. All of them (with the exception of ONE friendly young lady) all seem to have attitude issues. I don't really have any issues with the front desk crew. Except for the one Caucasian girl that gave my UPS mail package, which held my friggin check card to another guest. Whose name didn't resemble mine at all. Adding to the fiasco is the fact that she never apologized for it AND the person she gave it to. OPENED my mail. Forcing me to cancel the brand new card!! The only really good things about being here are the very nice ladies that do the overnight work. And, my main man Johnny! The young man is simply amazing. I'll be here for at least another year. Hopefully I can find a home to rent that at least has hot water to bathe in!

With the devastating blow of Hurricane Irma and Maria in September, this beautiful island was hit hard. Half the power is still out, but port is open to ships and the clean up crews occupy what’s left of open hotels. Yet the spirit is there, the sands are white and soft, the sun is shining and they are slowly recovering. Emerald Beach is hosting linemen to put up the power poles, and the people were very kind to us. Water and sand was perfect to catch some rays and snorkel locally close to our ship. Have it in my contact list instead of Secret Harbor which won’t reopen. I’ll be back. Thanks for a great relaxing day.

Fine until the bill

I stayed at this hotel for three nights in July while on St Thomas for business; the company had pre-paid my stay and I was to give a personal credit card for incidentals. Imagine my surprise when I came home to a credit card charge of nearly $1200 for the three night stay. This had not been authorized. After calling the front desk repeatedly I have not been able to get a resolution on this issue.
