We had a great trip to St Thomas! Emerald Beach is very close and convenient to the airport, easy check in, on the beach with a beverage 15 minutes after we grabbed our luggage. The staff was professional and welcoming. All the rooms are beachfront. The " Blue Flag" designated beach is beautiful and was not crowded til the big cruise ships docked mid week. The beaches in St Thomas are all public and Emerald Beach is close by for the cruisers seeking a day on the sand. The facilities were clean, though ocassionally a bit worn. Taxis readily available ....~$6/person to town, ~$10-15/person to Red Hook for charters. Never wished we had rented car. This isn't the Ritz but we didn't want to pay Ritz prices. Excellent value for the price point. Will definitely stay here again.

I only have a couple of complaints. Having arrived in early afternoon our check-in time was not until 4:00 pm. Although the food in the restaurant was good it was rather pricey. Other than that we had a very pleasant stay.

Everyone at the hotel were very nice and helpful. The hotel was very old but updating some, room was clean but would have loved a microwave. No beach activities, they could have done so much more, music, waiters at the beach and pool would have been perfect. Around the beach needs cleaning up a bit, junkie looking. Sunday people invaded the beach and pool arean that were not staying there, we were told that to outsiders chairs were &$7 but was not practiced. Hotel is very convenient to shopping, etc.

We just returned from our vacation and had a wonderful time. The view from the hotel room was beautiful. The room was very nice and roomy and there were plenty of electric outlets, closet space and sinks. There were only two minor problems which were addressed immediately. The food in the restaurant was very good and we enjoyed the open air seating. there were plenty of lounges and umbrellas on the beach and at the pool.

All the rooms had beautiful ocean view. No waves, warm ocean water, sandy beaches without rocks! No elevators, but liked being on the second floor, for privacy and safety. The resort was not fancy/sofisticated but we were comfortable. Free WiFi and free internet available to guests .Beachcomber restaurant next to our resort good food! We were worried because the airport is located across from the resort. Airport closes at 7:00 and a handful of planes land and depart. Room was comfortable, radio alarm clock in room, a small refrigerator and two luggage racks! Clean beach towels were not always available. Resort was not fancy/sofisticated but we were comfortable. Tropical Tour Staff was punctual and friendly!

The hotel is one of the few open on the island that is not an all inclusive or require a minimum stay - it has a great beach and Caribbean feel but can be very noisy at night and disrupt sleep. The room cleanliness needs improvement.

We caught a taxi at the cruise port to Emerald Beach Resort. It was $6 a person (cash) each way. Walk through the resort, past the restrooms and pool, past the bar and down to the beach. There is a guy on the beach who rents the lounge chairs, umbrella, and inflatables. There is also a couple who takes people out jet skiing, etc. DId not see prices posted. The beach and water was clean. We rented an umbrella and two beach chairs for $26. The resort allows you to use their restroom but not pool. The airport is near this beach. It was fun to watch a few flights take off and land. Snorkeling was ok. Not much to see. The husband did go over to the far left of the beach, near rocks. Saw a few things, but not much. If you want good snorkeling...go to Magaens Beach or Lindquist Beach. At the end of the day, there were a bunch of taxi buses waiting out front to take us back to the port. Overall, nice family friendly, quiet beach. No huge waves, just nice small ones rolling in. Lovely blue water.

I recently stayed here while traveling to St. Thomas for a wedding. The beach location was great and the staff was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that they need to exterminate ASAP! my room was infested with roaches. I know this isn't a 5 star resort but i couldn't get over the roach infested bathroom. I know they are recovering from last year's hurricane and i wish them well but they need to take care of that problem if they ever want to keep people coming back.

This was a fall back for a wedding venue in a hurricane ravaged area. Still, with an adequate investment in physical facilities and staff, this could be a worthy resort. As it is, it is only adequate, and the facilities and operation pale in comparison to some of the finer island resorts. They are missing an opportunity here.

Friendly, and close to airport

Pretty nice location and hotel. Internet is strong enough to do Skype or FaceTime for business or chatting with family. The water temp fluctuates a lot during a shower unfortunately, but overall this is a nice place!
