We enjoyed our time at Dreams. The beach and scenery was amazing! There were plenty of pools and patio chairs. The food and drinks were pretty good. However, a staff member with a key tried to enter our room at around midnight one night to give us an invite to a restaurant event, Not acceptable. Also, we went to El Patio for dinner, and I was required to wear long pants and sleeves. I had a sunburn, and it was 85 degrees in there. Shortly after we were seated a group of 3 ladies came in wearing flip-flops, shorts, and sleeveless blouses, and were seated no problem. If they are going to have a dress code they should include everyone. I was so uncomfortable, and the food was just average, I could not wait for the meal to be over. After that, we just ate at the buffet, at least it was air conditioned.

We just returned from a 7 night stay at this resort. What can I say...It was easily the best and most enjoyable beach vacation we've ever taken. We've been blessed to have toured, and vacationed to many beach towns and cities around the world, and have never stayed twice in the same hotel / resort, but we will return to the Dreams in Huatulco! All the staff treated us great during our stay. From the bellboys, the wait staff at restaurants, the bar staff , the ladies in the kids club. Everyone is great! The hotel building itself is showing its age and wear, but the staff makes all the difference. The destination "Huatulco" in itself offers a very authentic Mexican feel. You won't find McDonald's here, but you will have the best tasting street tacos. We loved the small town feel and friendliness of the locals. We enjoyed our stay at Dreams, and Huatulco for it's authentic Mexican feel. We will return next year!

The area is beautiful. The beach was very nice. Weather was perfect! 91 and sunny every day. The food in the specialty restaurants was good. The buffet was fair. The drinks were weak, but when we asked for extra alcohol, they would, and we always tipped. Hotel staff was friendly. Overall good value for the price. Went to Terra Cotta restaurant one night in town, and the food and margaritas were excellent

We have stayed at many all inclusive resorts including RIU, Sandals, Holiday Inn Sunspree, and Iberostar. This vacation is at the top of our list. We loved Huatulco and the fact it has not been Americanized. You won't find a McDonald's or any other American fast food place. The resort was very good. Great variety of food at buffet and the a la carte restaurants were all good to great. They know how to cook fish down there. Staff was great and always friendly. It was nice to go to a place where there was a great diversity of guests including Mexican nationals. We had no complaints. We got a great deal through Apple and we had no problem with Swift Air. We got a little late start taking off but we arrived back a few minutes early. Just normal travel thing. Flight attendants were very nice. We would not hesitate to book this exact trip again via Apple Vacations.

This was our first stay in a Dreams resort. Ive always heard how they excel and thought this would be an upgrade. Found the resort to be more average. Food was ok. Entertainment was lacking at the pools during the day and shows at night. Had issue with our jacuzzi tub and had to call multiple times to get it serviced. They ran out of several different types of drinks we were enjoying. You would think alcohol would be stocked up. This was a slower week for them and they only open certain restaurants each night. Communication was poor as to what was scheduled. Do not feel this resort earns 6 golden apples. Did enjoy the area, weather, pools and friendly people. Felt safe at all times.

First of all, the service was awesome!!! When we arrived, Antonio had our favorite drinks for us. Everyone and I mean everyone was very helpful! Everyone was at your service all of the time! Now the not so good part-the hotel was nice, but for what I paid for, not worth it! The beds were NOT comfortable! The food was excellent, but it was the same food buffets everyday.

I will start off by saying that this was my first experience in an all inclusive resort. Besides going on a cruise, my vacations have always been a ‘pay as you go’ situation. So I went on this trip not really knowing what to expect. So being that this is my first all inclusive stay, I also had very little expectations of what would happen. However, because I have never been to an all inclusive does not mean I don’t know what it means to have excellent customer service and care. I have been to Disney and stayed at their deluxe resorts so I know what it means to be welcomed ‘home’. Once we got to Dreams we were sent to the Apple desk to check in and was told our room wasn’t ready quite yet so we could head down to the buffet and grab lunch while we waited. We went to the World Cafe where there was an assortment of foods from Mexican to pasta and many other things in between. We were seated and then… waited. And waited. We each took turns going to get our food while we waited for someone, anyone, to get a drink order. We were done eating and then I got up and went out to the pool bar and fetched us sodas. Still, no none came to get our drink order during the duration of the meal. We went back to the check in desk after walking around the resort a bit and was told at 3pm, that our room was still not ready. They guessed about an hour or so. We sat at the bar in the main lobby area until 4:30 when then, we were given keys to our rooms. By this time, we were exhausted and very hot. However, the room was nice with a beautiful ocean view. I was pleased with our accommodations. We spend all of Sunday and Monday at the pool or stepping out to the beach. Also trying different restaurants and drinks. Dreams has 2 designated adult pools. One a bit back of the resort without a beach view and one with a beach view. We opted to sit at the beach view. It was so incredibly relaxing. We had drink service that started around 11 and they brought us whatever drink we wanted. However, I doubt much alcohol was in any of the drinks at all. Besides the 2 adult only pools, there were 4 other pools with kids and adults alike. So the food... We tried all the restaurants that Dreams had to offer. Unfortunately, one was closed for refurb while we were there. I will start with a caveat. I am not a picky eater. I will truly eat anything that is edible. However, I am pretty picky to what I will consider “good”. I can’t claim personally that most of the restaurants were good. But we did speak with a couple one day who was there with their two children. The family loved the food at Dreams. I was taken aback but everyone’s taste buds are different. World Cafe (International Buffet): Well, hmm… I didn’t love it. The bacon was so gamey that I couldn’t do it. I didn’t know bacon could be gamey but it surely was. But bacon everywhere was gamey so I just avoided it after trying it two times. We were there for breakfast and one lunch. Food was mostly flavorless. Service was mediocre. Seaside Grill: This would up being one of my favorite places to eat during our stay at dreams. The steak was seasoned very well (though tough it is thin so get if well done at the most) and the burgers were good. My friend had a chicken that she loved ( I somehow missed it). They were also open for breakfast which was fine too. It also helps to have a beach view while eating. Portofino (Italian restaurant). I didn’t think the food at Portofino was all that good. It was fair. There was an appetizer bar that I tried and was OK. My Ceasar salad was aesthetically pleasing but that is about it. I didn’t care for the lasagna with bolognase sauce either. We shared a tiramisu (which for some reason I thought it was a bit weird that they asked if we wanted to share instead of giving us one each) that was more cream than lady fingers. I left the dinner not all that satisfied. El Patio (Mexican): For their starter, they had a taco bar. If dinner was just the taco bar, I would have been happy with that. There was a variety of meats and toppings. Fresh made tortillas. It was definitely a happy starter. The wait staff was very nice and accommodating. They brought us out appetizers we didn’t order for us to sample. Both were good. I really enjoyed the beef stew. But the main meal didn’t appeal to me. It could have been because I was so full already or I just didn’t care for it. But I stopped after a few bites. I will stress again how nice the wait staff was. Himitsu (Asian): I ordered sushi for an appetizer, Mongolian chicken and then tempura ice cream. The sushi rice was undercooked, too much rice to sushi ratio and it fell apart once I picked it up. The Mongolian chicken had heat to it but not an incredible amount of flavor. It also didn’t come with rice so I had to ask for that separately. My tempura ice cream was frozen solid still. I could not cut through it. However, it was a billion degrees out and we were seated outside (big mistake) so it did melt pretty quickly. I wish we asked for indoor seating because I was sweating through the entire meal. I suppose, out of our 3 dinner places, this would have been my favorite though. CoCo Cafe (24 hour coffee and pastries): I loved this place because the air conditioning was FANTASTIC. The iced latte was pretty good. I ordered a pretzel and it was more like a dry bagel. One thing we noticed is that any bread and pastries that were provided in any of the restaurants were not very good. Dreams has a lot of upkeep to keep up with . Many of the tiles were loose or broken. There were quite a few times I thought I was going to trip or break through one of them. The grout in the pool tile had green algae in them. I did see the pool peeps cleaning but they probably need to shock the heck out of the pool too. I was only at the adult pool so not sure what the other pools were like. A lot of the drink glasses were dingy. And granted, they are plastic so they don’t get broken when dropped. But they just didn’t look clean. The servers and waitstaff seemed completely annoyed half the time. Some were great but others just seemed like they couldn’t be bothered with. I did enjoy the views of the beach and the infinity pool immensely. From what I have learned, there are many resorts in Huatulco and Dreams truly is one of the top ones. But still, there is much that is needed to be worked on. I don’t mean to be harsh but I also know people are spending a lot of money to go. I would not recommend Dreams to anyone that is a picky eater of has taste buds of a 6 year old. I also do not recommend it for those that can not grasp the fact that everyone around you will not be speaking English, even though you are not in an English speaking country. I kinda see this as a Pop Century or All Star Sports of the Disney world. It’s good, you are in your ‘happy place’ but still… not luxurious as The Beach Club or Boardwalk.

This is definitely my favorite vacation destination in Mexico. The staff were warm and friendly but most of all always eager to help. There were five pools with two of them being “for adults only” for those not traveling with children. I never had to ask for refills. They were always anticipating your needs. I can’t wait to return.

Perfect vacation once again!

34 people, our 4th time here. Cant wait to return again! Had a clean comfortable room, great adult only pool (where we spent most of our time)Wonderful dining and entertainment. I had the BEST deep tissue massage of my life ( hope I am remembering correctly) with Alessandra. The hydrotherapy was also super cool and the young man attendant quite professional and very sweet.Did I mention the amazing tireless pool side drink service? The 2 gentlemen that took care of us were seriously the hardest working servers I have ever seen! We can be quite demanding and they took such good care of us with a smile all week long!I only wish I could remember their names so they could get the credit they deserve! Our room was spotless everyday, the grounds were beautifully attended too as well.I personally enjoyed the Japanese restaurant the most. The breakfast/ lunch buffet was great.I especially enjoyed picking out my tuna steaks to be grilled to my liking at lunch. Also really enjoyed the room service delicious and very prompt! The drinks were top shelf and thirst quenching. It was wonderful to be greeted at the airport by Sven our Apple rep,who now feels like an old friend.I cant imagine anyplace else being as perfect as Dreams in Huatulco!

I been to couple great hotels and I must say Dreams Hotel Huatulco did not disappoint one bit. This all inclusive hotel has alot to offer, all the way from drinks and food to its private beach and jacuzzi tubs in your balcony. Everything was amazing although in room dining could had done a better job at making sure food orders were presentable. Never the less I was really satisfy with this place. I read many reviews for hotels in Huatulco as this was my first time visiting the city and Dreams really caught my attention, stood out from other candidates. The staff was very friendly and made you feel at home. It's an all inclusive hotel so privacy and security is at it's best. You cant go in or out with out checking in with the gate guard which I found to be very secure. There is alot to do as well in this resort from swimming, to snorkeling, kayaking, patle board and for an extra fee even jet skis. With so many activities it's really nice to have someone like Horacio to guide you and help you master all the activities. He was very helpful and even thought me archery. The restraunt servers were always top notch very polish and professional, never let your drinking glass go empty. To all who haven't been to Dreams and are looking into the area. I strongly recommend this place for you. Oh and they even have a bar lounge located on the ground floor with good music, drinks, overall such great vibes.
