Wonderful place for couples or friends, you can rest or party

You can get t the hotel only by car, but once you are there you don't need to leave until your check out. The installations let you enjoy a silent night or have a party night. Excellent food, service and installations. I would highly recommend it. More>

I have visited spas all over North America and this one was by far my favourite. It was very clean, had breathtaking views and the staff was very attentive. Both my husband and I can't wait to go back! More>

Nice hotel, friendly staff, but not quite perfect

We just returned from a 6 night stay a Dreams Huatulco with our 2 children (9 and 6). We loved our time there. The pros: The hotel is in a beautiful location and is well appointed. The staff is exceptional and very accommodating. 'It's a pleasure' feels genuine each and every time. Common areas are kept clean and tidy. We loved the entertainment staff and they worked to make sure that we were included, even though we were about the only English speakers there. Great job Marco, Carlos and the whole team! They all even allowed us to practice our very broken Spanish without laughing to hard at us. Taking the catamaran out was a highlight at the resort. Areas for improvement: The food was ok. Not bad, just not quite as good as I was hoping for. My husband and I stayed at the Secrets Huatulco last year and expected the restaurants to be virtually the same since they share the same names and they are sister resorts. We found the food at Secrets to be much higher quality. The selection of food choices in the buffet was basically the same most nights with a few variations. Another area that we knew about going into was the fact that the rooms have 2 double beds instead of queens. My husband and I are used to sharing a king, so the double felt quite cramped...but like I said, this is as advertised and we knew going into it. Also, be prepared for a pretty strong undertoe on the beach. My children are great swimmers, but I wasn't comfortable allowing them to play much in the water. (Side note- Playa Entrega is a great beach for playing on snorkeling but go early before it gets crowded). We also had minor issues with ants/bugs in the room, but the rooms enter outdoors and you're basically in the rainforest, so what do you expect. All in all, I would definitely recommend Dreams Huatulco...just don't set your expectations too high on the food ;) More>

Best holiday I ever had

I stayed here a couple of years ago but this is still my fondest holiday on memory. The staff and resort are top notch, Huatulco is in a beautiful location. There is not a huge amount of things to do, a few tours etc but if you want to relax this is the place for you. There was a spa on our balcony and I even managed to get Johnny Walker Black served to me in the bar which was fantastic. I recommend this place 100% More>

Wonderful first time visit to Huatulco and Dreams
ali123travels, Chicago, IL

We thoroughly enjoyed Dreams Huatulco for Spring Break 2016. We love traveling to Mexico beach destinations and this year decided on Huatulco. It was our first time to this area of Mexico and we really hope to return again and again. If only flight schedules would operate more than just in high season from our area. We chose Dreams Huatulco because we have stayed at other Dreams properties and really enjoyed them. This resort was fantastic….even better than we were expecting. Truth be told, we weren’t sure what to expect of the area and the resort. We know the resort wasn’t built as a Dreams property but they’ve done a great job keeping it up to date and fresh. What we didn’t realize is what a fantastic, beautiful, clean and relatively new area Huatulco is. It’s so unspoiled and yet so very welcoming to the travelers. Our room was a regular size room with 2 double beds. We had a wonderful view of the ocean and pools from our balcony. Every day we looked out at that beautiful view. There was plenty of room for the 3 of us (with our son); however, we did feel that it would have been nice to have a slightly larger room (more like a junior suite size). The bathroom was a good size, private, and well-appointed. We enjoyed all the restaurants and loved that Dreams has no reservations for dinners. We were there for 7 nights so we choose to go to the Italian restaurant twice since it was our favorite. The buffets were plentiful and worked well for breakfast and lunch but we do prefer a la carte for dinner. The Coco Café was the best one that we’ve visited (compared to other Dreams and Secrets Resorts). The ocean views from the “indoor” full-length windows of the Coco Café are breathtaking. The options for drinks also seemed to be better and more than other resorts. We enjoyed some of the evening shows. We didn’t see them all but our favorite was the Rock & Roll Show. The entertainment staff was great. My husband and son did a lot of pool volleyball during the week. I loved sitting on beach. There was never a problem getting beach palapas even during high season. The pool chairs filled up a bit faster but there were usually chairs to be found. We also liked having plenty of pools to choose so none were overly crowded. There were 3 pools (one was adult’s only) right up at the edge of the beach and we thought the infinity edges were fantastic. There were also other smaller pools that weren’t right up front by the beach. There is a small shopping area right out front of the Dreams. It was nice to be able to grab a souvenir to bring home without having to go too far or to have to buy them at the hotel gift shops or airport. This same plaza has a nice restaurant called Viene if you want to try eating outside of the resort. The prices were reasonable for a more upscale restaurant. We did 3 tours while there. We went on the city and shopping tour. We took a bay cruise and did some snorkeling (beautiful beaches and water), and we also went ATVing on the beach/in the jungle. All were very good especially for 1st timers like us. We would recommend this resort and this area to anyone thinking about going to a fantastic location and especially for those who have already “been there” for areas like Riviera Maya, Cancun, Cozumel, and Puerto Vallarta. If you love Mexico beach destinations and are looking for somewhere new, check out Huatulco. Perhaps it will be as much of a beautiful “surprise” for you as it was for us. More>
