This is my 4th time at Huatulco Dreams. As usual the staff was amazing, friendly and service perfect. Francisco and Semith(/) were top bartenders They were friendly, sociable and had a great sense of humor. My favorite location to socialize in the evenings was the Ocean View bar where they worked as well as all the bartenders and servers there. My room was spotless and my wonderful maid Alicia left notes and beautiful flowers in my room everyday. The food was amazing and the selection was fabulous. I am returning to Huatulco Dreams next week. I can't wait to go back. The only rooms I have stayed in have been the Deluxe Tropical. I don't think that there could possibly be any bad room locations in this resort. I prefer Tropical view. I call it "home sweet home" because they truly have wonderful, kind staff and most recognize me when I go back each year. You must go to Dreams Huatulco to experience what truly is an amazing holiday experience. More>

My Husband and I have returned to Dreams resort for the 5th time this year. We usually travel with a group but this year due to the timing, we came on our own. We were not disappointed. Our room, 1406 was kept very clean thanks to Elena, and was quiet with a view of the pool and ocean. We had exceptional service at all the restaurants and great food. Ismael and Jesus were some waiters that we remembered.. We spend most of our time at the beach close to the Barracuda bar where we love all the bartenders and servers. Exceptional drinks made by Prospero, and the rest of his team.....Jimenez, Romvaldo,Danniel, and Antonio. The best servers ever....Primitiva, Isela, Jesus and Alberto....they are amazing carrying heavy trays of drinks, never missing an order, on the hot sandy beach and always with a smile. Ivan the Life guard is absolutely amazing. He is a wealth of knowledge about the area, he educated the guests on Iguana behavior, helped guests find chairs in the shade, ran from one end of the resort to the other watching to make sure everyone was safe treating those that needed minor treatments. In the evenings we enjoyed visiting with other guests while enjoying a drink made by Eliseo in the Rendevouz lounge. He was the fastest bartender ever and always with a smile. My husband and I will definitely return for our 6th time soon. This resort is definitely worth going to for the cleanliness, the weather and most of all the staff!! More>

As a person that travels much of the time this hotel was not bad at all. several pools are fun. people always smiling all the time everywhere. i'd to say that food and beverage services were great, something that id point out is that room service was brilliant bringing the bottles of my baby clean and sanitized thank you very much for it More>

A group of 4 couples arrived at the Dreams Huatulco Jan 26 for a week. This hotel is a true 5 star, from the staff to the facilities, and the food..... everything is top notch. Another item worth mentioning is that this is the first resort we have every stayed at where you were served high end alcohol. Dreams has Grey Goose Vodka, Crown Royal whiskey, Bacardi Rum, Grand Marnier, Drambue, etc, etc. Two of us went out fishing one day and brought our catch back to the resort. We were not sure what to expect.... would they cook it for us? Would they put an effort in to it? We were pleasantly surprised, we dropped the fish off in the afternoon and booked a 7pm dinner. When our group of 8 arrived they seated off in a corner and began delivering appetisers until our main course of fish was cooked. The meal was excellent! Very nice touch by the Dreams team! The only thing bad I could say about this resort is the beach towel/pool or beach lounger issue. The Dreams does not use towel cards so this pretty much encourages people to have towels set out on loungers in several different places though out the property. If you were limited to two towels, you could only have two loungers reserved. The games began each night at dark and started up again as early as 5am in the morning with people dropping towels off on loungers for the next day. If you were not down by 6am or so, you would likely not have a place to sit. We do not go on vacation to have to participate in this kind of thing. Simple fix Dreams..... make the guests use pool towels and add some more loungers and shade areas, especially on the beach. All in all though, very good experience More>

We keep coming back

We keep coming back to Huatulco and the Dreams for the whole package. This is a great hotel in a beautiful location and a wonderful experience all around. The people here are wonderful and smiling all the time. We feel like we are coming home to family as most of the staff that we met on our first trip many years ago are still there today. We spend most of the first day just going around and saying hello and hugging friends that we have gotten to know over the years. Even though all of the staff are wonderful there are a few that deserve special recognition for going well above and beyond. Julio the captain of the Portifino restaurant does a great job that is reflected in his staff and the atmosphere within the restaurant. Make sure you get Julio to make you a Spanish coffee as it is a show you will not soon forget. At the world café Rogelio will greet you with a big smile and will do whatever he can to make sure you have what you want. Rogelio’s staff Feliciano, Feliciana and Oliva always made you feel special. At the seaside grill Lucia, Yordi, Emelio and Genner served us with a smile and always made time to talk to us. We really enjoyed the Himitsu and our hostess Mariela who always greeted us with a warm welcome. Drink service poolside was incredible and you never had to wait. Primitiva, Felix and Ricardo worked nonstop and always brought us exactly what we wanted. Mario at the Rendezvous bar already knew what we wanted before we sat down. Food is very important to us as we want to look forward to breakfast, lunch and supper. The Dreams met our expectations on all fronts. We are ok with buffet for breakfast and lunch but enjoy a la carte for supper. All of the meals were good but our favorites are still the Portifino and Himitsu. We love that there are no reservations or limits on the number of times you can go. This year we took advantage of the room service for the first time and it was excellent. The food choices were great and the food arrived hot and tasty. The hotel itself is not fancy and will not wow you but is very clean and well maintained. The rooms are spotless and the fridge is restocked every day. The maids come twice a day and provide a turn down service. The maids always left a little something special on the bed made from flower petals. Service was outstanding in all areas including the restaurants, bars and by the pools and on the beach. The staff work in the hot sun all day and continue to smile and tell you it is their pleasure. The beach is very clean but the sand is a little coarse and at a bit of a slope. This never stopped us from walking it several times a day. This year we were provided with a spectacular show each time we walked the beach as the manta rays were playing in the waves near the shore. Keep your eyes on the water when you walk past the Barcelo towards the river in front of the golf course. We took out the hobbie cat every day as well as went snorkeling in front the hotel. The quality of the equipment and the instruction is top notch. We did a couple of trips with Elias Vasquez, one of the locals that you will find on the beach in front of the hotel. We make it a point to go out with Elias each time we visit as he is a great person that we know we will have fun with and we can trust. This year we caught fish, saw hundreds of dolphins, turtles, manta rays, did lots of snorkeling, walked on deserted beaches and the highlight was when we saw a humpback whale do a full breach several times. I highly recommend going out with Elias as it will be the highlight of your trip. We also went to the Emerald Falls for the first time which was quite an adventure. Make sure that you get a van that has good shocks and is in good condition as ours was not and it made for an uncomfortable trip. This trip might not be for you if you are not prepared for a long bumpy ride up a mountain on a road that can be a bit scary at times. Once you arrive at the falls you can either sit at the bottom or climb up them. Make sure you have good shoes if you plan on climbing up as it is very slippery. The ropes are tied to roots and branches and require a bit of work to get up. The falls are not big but are quite nice and the jungle is very lush. We have been going to Huatulco every January for the past 11 years and cant wait to go back to the Dreams again next year. We try someplace new in February or March and then back home to the Dreams in January. More>
