Apple was AMAZING

Jennifer with Apple was amazing. She met us at our hotel and then later stayed in touch by phone. It was such a breezy, easy vacation. American Airlines was horrible but other than that - the hotel was on point, the transfer to the hotel was ready and waiting for us. The food, the drinks- all A++++

Nice beach

I felt this resort had medi ocre food. The breakfast menu never changed. My boyfriend n I upgraded to beach front room which was very nice. Its a small resort so it was hassle free to find other bars & restaurants, cave bar was is the best hang out. Lunch & dinner menus were so so. Main restaurant is pool side & I found it a bit strange for our only view was people in bikinis & laying by poolside. The service in the vista coffee & wine bar was very slow. I found that other nationalities were more favored here. The staff was standoffish to us. If you went on tours they were accommodating & made sure you were taken care of. In a nut shell I would recommend this resort at least once just because you don't have to walk a long way to get to beach. Not impressed with staff just because they were slow & rude to us. I'm kinda picky on selections of good, it was very limited

Our first visit to Barbados as a last minute break. We had room 241, which was spacious with a separate living area and had a sea view and a garden view as it was in an elevated position and it is on the upper floor. The hotel was opened in the 90’s and has a colonial feel with an external decor in pastel colours. Others have noted that it is a little tired but we found it perfectly acceptable and everything worked. In Miami they would call this Art Deco and up the prices. The gardens are lovely and tended by an army of gardeners giving the place an airy and spacious feel. There is a gym (underused) where you can work of some of the extra calories an all inclusive package attracts. The equipment is modern Cybex stuff. The staff are the making of the hotel as many others have noted. It would be unfair to pick anyone out as all were great. Breakfast starts at 7:30 and as others have noted it pays to book your evening meal as you enter if you want the popular 7:30pm time. We dined in reflections in the evening and for most lunches in drifters which is open air on a terrace next to the beach. Reflections is under cover with netting to keep out the birds. It is a la carte mostly unless there is a themed buffet. Drifters is just parasols and the birds and flies can be a nuisance at lunch but there is always reflections if that bothers you. In the unlikely event you are feeling hungry at 4 pm Drifters does an afternoon tea which is very nice. The new coffee room is very nice and as others have noted would benefit from longer hours. Service can take a while as it is so popular but it is a lovely cool room to spend a few minutes before tea. The barista was a lovely lad who would take the coffee to one of the outside tables if required. He hardly gets a minute at busy times though eg after dining. I thought the water sports (included) were great and sailed most days. Generally I was accompanied as this wasn’t a problem and it was good to talk to a local. Once away from land the winds are good but close to shore it can be slow going ie starting and finishing. The sandy beach shelves steeply to about 1.5 m deep then is a gentle slope. Being on the western Caribbean side will not trouble good swimmers. There are a some colourful fish especially round the rocky outcrop. We hired a small car and visited some of the islands attractions. The roads are generally poor (we were shaken about) with lots of potholes. Also expect that away from the highways they can be single track and little more than gravel tracks. Don’t let this stop you as it is a beautiful island.

Loved it and will go back!

We (family of 4 with two teenagers) spent a week at Crystal Cove, a week before the half-term holidays and we loved our stay. The hotel layout is beautiful, it looks like a village (but everything is very close) and the swimming pools are nice and deep enough to swim a little bit. Public areas are very clean. The food was very good (we liked Reflections for dinner and Drifters for lunch), with local and international choice, bars have a nice cocktail selection and staff really made any other cocktail we wished even if it wasn't on the menu. The sea was warm with lots of sea life to see if like us you like snorkeling, the water sports were available quite easily, staff are really nice, all of them really, (still, a special mention to Kathy and Kevin who were really great and cool with our kids), all staff do everything to make you happy during your stay. Our room being close to the road, was noisy, we heard cars from 6am, we requested a room change and it was granted (although we did not change in the end as the children did not want to move. Anyway, the point is, they wanted to please us and that's what counts, and to be fair, we got used to the noise and after the third day we slept like babies! Our room was a one-bedroom garden view but we also had a view on the sea. It had a master bedroom with its bathroom and a living room with a sofa-bed and they put a second bed so that my children did not have to share the sofa, nice touch! they also had their own bathroom which was really practical after the beach, when we got ready for dinner. Night entertainment was also quite good. We used the Elegant hotels boat to go to Colony Club and walk to Holetown from there (5-10 minutes) the small trip is very nice. We could use the Colony Club facilities at no cost (we did not take any meal there) The only two things that could be improved: 1. As it has been mentioned in many other reviews, the bathrooms!,I didn't think I would mind them being outdated, but in fact they are so old that they look dirty, even if they're not! And the bathtub in the children's bathroom didn't drain properly, we mentioned it at the reception and it was fixed the next day, but we had the same problem the following day, we did not bother to report again, my son used that bath (he ended his shower with water up to his ankle) and my daughter just came to use ours, and at was the end of the problem. While we were there they were renovating the rooms, hopefully bathrooms will be nicer soon! 2. Those rugs in the rooms. They are old, very used, and dirty with sand (and not sand brought by us), not surprising, I didn't see the staff making our room use a vacuum cleaner any day, just a floor brush and the classical mop and water. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean, but rugs were not. I was happy I had my slippers. I would suggest they get rid of those rugs, and replace them with new rugs made with natural fibers like jute, bamboo or sisal (they're easier to clean with a brush) Anyway, these two details did not spoil my holidays at all, we did not spend time in the room and the hotel is very beautiful and well maintained. Also, something I really appreciated was that on our last day we had our transfer picking us up at 2,30pm (Suntours, highly recommended!) and check-out time is 12. I asked the reception whether we could keep the room until 1,30pm. This was granted immediately, very nice touch! I know they have a courtesy room but being able to keep ours was much better. I guess it depends on how many new arrivals they have on the day, also we only asked for 1.5 hours longer... So we could enjoy the beach and pool until 1pm, took a quick last shower, At 1,30 we left our luggage at Reception and went for a last lunch before our transfer. Would I go back? Yes! Will I? Definitely! Missing Crystal Cove and its people, thank you for a great holiday!

We went to Crystal Cove the last week in October and we loved it! The staff are so friendly and helpful, the rooms spotlessly clean and comfortable (if a tiny bit dated) and the sunsets were spectacular! We saw baby turtles hatching on the beach on our first morning and swam with grown up turtles later in the week. It really is the most beautiful place and we can’t wait to go back.

Superb food, relaxation and water sports

We went to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary staying in a suite and got the one from the brochure. Had such a great time. Food and restaurants were brilliant. Incredible location with plenty of water sports. Short beach walk to the Waves hotel for more restaurants. Felt so safe out and about. Had such a good time we've booked again to bring the family in 2019.
