everything was really good except that we specifically requested and ocean view room, and at the time of check in the no too nice person at the reception area said they don't have any ocean view room, only partial ocean view rooms.

First time vacation

It's a nice resort, the room I got wasent the room that I pay for, I ask for 2 queen beds and got 1 king n a roll out bed. The people that are in the from with time share are annoying you think they work for the hotel and they bug u. The towel station closed before the pool and also the bar it closed before the pool so we had to go all the to the lobby for any drinks. You also have to tell them what liquor you want if not they give u the cheapest one, and even sometimes if you tell them they act like they didn't understand you.

We were a party of 8 with 3 rooms, 2 rooms the safes and refrigerators were not working so we had to put all our valuables in 1 room. The food was pretty much the same throughout out 8 day stay for the buffet. Most of the food was bland in taste but the specialty restaurants were great. The hotel is old and needs some renovations. The rooms had a strong damp odor as well as the pillows and bedding. I would not recommend this hotel.

Too many kids.
RICHARD T.

Too many kids at the hotel. It became a problem because the parents just let their kids run wild. The kids were allowed in the bars causing us to not want to spend anytime there. Kids should not be allowed in the bars. We also did not have hot watert for 2 days. Septic system at the hotel was bad. Restrooms smelled bad. The service was good and the food was excellent. The beach was beautiful and well kept.

The only thing that we did not like is that the hotel is that their staff try to get you to buy their timeshare.

WELL worth the money

We originally were scheduled to stay for 3 nights, but wound up extending the stay to 5 nights. Food was above average for the buffets and the specialty restaurants were quite good. The hotel, itself, is a little outdated, but nothing to be upset about. It took us a bit to figure out that the swim-up bar was located at the adults only pool. The pool was on floor 1, which isn't the main level, and was a bit tricky to find from the map. I'm glad we did find it, though. Gerardo, the bartender was very friendly and made sure we were well cared for. Paola, the activities director was sassy and fun. One of the activities was a big water balloon fight in the pool. First time I've done that. So much fun! On Tuesday, there was a DJ that played great House music. The beach.... PHENOMENAL. So beautiful and well cared for. I don't recall ever seeing a beach cleaning machine (I guess that's what you call it), but it was in use several times to make sure there was no debris. The biggest thing I could complain about is that the elevators are a bit slow. If that's the worst thing you can complain about, it's a great place! I'd ABSOLUTELY come back and actually feel like Apple has underrated the resort a bit.

Family Experience

Overall, a great place to stay and worth the money. The kids paradise was awesome to use. We were able to take our kids there and leave them for an hour so we could get a massage on the beach. They also went there for a night so we could eat dinner. We stayed for 8 nights which was a great length for us. The breakfast was AWESOME. Made to order omlettes, made to order smoothies. Lunch and dinner were not always great in the buffet. Not enough "kid friendly" options. Lines also can be long for made to order items. The kids love the ice cream station, but it is where you scoop your ice cream. Having young kids scooping their own ice cream takes forever and they only have two stations with one scooper each. The beach was amazing, but the waves from the wind were high. The "endless pool" was a great place to hang out with the family. The shade pool was a great option as well for those with kids so you don't have to constantly worry about them being in the sun. There were so many activities for young kids to do that this was a great place for a family vacation. I would not recommend this place for an adult only vacation. The specialty restaurants were extremely hard to get into. You have to call the day before at 0800. It was very inconvenient as you would have to make sure you were back from breakfast by then or leave for breakfast after calling if you wanted to get in. On the day before our last night we went to the concierge to find out why we couldn't get into the Mexican restaurant even after calling and waiting on hold right at 0800. They were able to finally get us in because I told them that it would not be a good end to the vacation without getting to eat at the Mexican restaurant. I'm glad I complained and we got in. Best restaurant we went to at the resort.

falling to pieces, literally.

About the hotel only... the place seems to be falling apart. while we were there a granite slab fell from above an elevator onto a guest, luckily only hitting his leg. He could have been killed. Also, a piece of the decorative concrete fell on the outside of the building from 6 stories up thankfully landing on the roof below and not a person. At any given moment one of the elevators was not working. The power went out however staff handled it very well. Our first room was dirty and old. The pools were nice but often had random things in them like hamburgers. They also really need to do something to keep the seagulls away from pool areas.

Great family vacation

We really enjoyed our second stay here at crown paradise Cancún. This resort isn’t super fancy but we found it to be very easy to navigate and lots of fun. We were very disappointed that the water slides were not open. We had thought the 4 water slides were ready at the end of September but they are nowhere near ready. The covered pool is a nice option for those who want to swim but don’t want to be in the sun all day. Wayne’s boots and the mechanical bull were lots of fun and we enjoyed the other a la cartes. (But making reservations at a decent time is a bit of a pain). The adult only French restaurant was very nice. Room service costs 5 dollars American but it was good and the kids really enjoyed it. The spa is nice but prices are higher than what you would pay in Canada. I think the spa would be way busier and make more money if they lowered their prices 25% or gave some type of credit to guests to use it. The beach is right there and was really nice. Some days it was rough but we had one perfect day with almost no seaweed. Our rooms were cleaned daily and they left us little towel animals which the kids loved. We might go again if they get those 4 waterslides ready. It’s nice to have a resort where the kids can use the waterslides.

Stayed at this hotel for two weeks with my husband and two year old son while celebrating my 30th Birthday. The hotel was very clean, our room was huge even with a cot in it, staff even decorated our room for my birthday. We all loved it hotel and never had one complaint. Food was great in all restaurants and staff very friendly they could not do enough for us. Our favourite restaurant was the fishermans. The whole entertainment team were amazing we all loved the show at night and felt it was suitable for Adults and Kids. Big thanks to Dolce and Indra in Baby Paradise they were great with my son and I felt comfortable leaving him with them. He will miss you both. Jesus the bellboy was brilliant came and helped us when we arrived and when we left nothing was too much for him. Angel in La Palapas was brilliant he made sure our son had whatever he wanted for dinner even if it wasn’t on the menu that night. Israel at breakfast in La Palapas was also great he made sure we could always get a table and catered for our every need. Thanks to our Cleaner Clara who would come and clean our room at a time which suited us so that she wasn’t disturbing our son if he was asleep. We will definitely be returning to this hotel.

Awesome Vacation at Crown Paradise Club/ Golden Shores

Our Vacation was Awesome right from the start. From Grace Romano making sure our reservations were taken care of to Emilio greeting us at arrival. The check in went outstanding. The room was ready and the New Manager Hugo Reyes met us to welcome us back. Hugo has been a great addition to the Crown Team and the owners made a great decision hiring him. Genner and Salvador, the food and beverage managers frequently stopped by to say hello and make sure all the restaurants and bars were taking good care of us and to see if we needed anything. All the restaurant captains from Sergio, Enrique, Alfredo, Denise and the 2 new women did a great job. Rafael and Angel in the Buffet are the best. The Bartenders, Roger, Louis, Gerardo, Gabriel, Albert, Sebastian, and Edwardo took care of all our drinks and the glasses were never empty. Joel around the main pool and both Cristina and Teresa in the lobby area give you the best service. Although the Hotel is all Inclusive Tips go along way showing your gratitude for the staff that go above and beyond. And I cant forget the Lifeguard Antonio. The waters and currents can be very dangerous, along with the undertows. I have seen him save many lives over the years from tourist that get into trouble in the ocean. My family has been going to the Crown twice a year for 15 years, and its the Staff that keeps bring us back. No Hotel is perfect but its the staff that make the difference and makes you feel at home. My kids are all grown up now, one out of college and one just starting college. But if you have little one's the Crown it the best place to go for your family vacation in Cancun! Gary R

Two pensioners experienced a real touch of class when we booked into the paradise hotel. Not able to go on the more demanding trips we opted to go on the lagoon cruise. Both my wife and I have not laughed so much thanks to the onboard entertainment. The hotel was more than we expected, a choice of pools including an Adult only, which we greatly appreciated. The food was excellent, having sampled all the restaurants, a special mention and thanks to the staff in the French restaurant. I can honestly state that this hotel catered for our every need, bearing in mind our mature ages. It would be remiss of us not to mention our maid service, Alicia, who made our stay really nice with the much appreciated towel art. Would love to visit again,

Great time. Great Hotel. Everything was good.

The lady who serve the tourist on the beach (Avaceli Colin) such a hard working person. She did everything in a perfect way. That lady and bartender Josve made our vocation. I will comeback next year 100% to the same hotel. Love it.
