The restaurant needs better entertainment and more restaurants. For being there 7 nights, we struggled on finding food that was good enough to go eat again for dinner. Oriental restaurant was not good at all for sushi. Only 1 breakfast place and it was the same old thing. If I go back there, I wouldn't stay 7 nights due to lack of places to eat.

A great vacation. Staff were attentive and service was outstanding. Every time we turned around someone was there asking if we needed anything. All inclusive is the way to go. The food is very good with plenty of variety. Snorkeling of the back of the hotel, though unexpected, was good. Expensive, but worth it. Caveat: Avoid rooms 1-10 on the 3rd floor as they are across from a very noisy mechanical room. A low frequency rumble. We didn’t mind so much, but some would find it pretty annoying.

We loved every minute at the Palace. Of course they have other locations over on the mainland that can be used interchangeably as well but we preferred to stay in Cozumel. The staff are delightful, helpful and looking for ways to serve you. They don't just get what you ask for - they are thinking ahead. The facilities were always clean, the food delicious and the help came in huge servings. There is no beach at this hotel but you can get beach easily over on the mainland or in places nearby. You can snorkel right outside the hotel and its easy with equipment provided if necessary. All the rooms are beautiful, have a balcony and look out at the water. We recommend being on at least the 3rd floor to better enjoy the view. Watching the cruise ships go by and seeing the other watercraft was mesmerizing. Nights were delightful looking at all the lights. We also enjoyed the $1500 extra credit for special things. We used it for massages, special trips and other fun things. We hope to go back soon. We weren't just satisfied - we were highly impressed.

we stayed 5 days at cozumel palace, loved every day! we went to playacar palace for one of the days, which is great if you want lots of beach! wonderful service, excellent bar staff...would not waste my time ever again with the palace time share/vacation club presentation...seems like it might be an okay deal; however, you still have to pay quite a bit for your weeks on top of a fee to join for your weeks, plus we had issues getting our promised ferry tickets (reimbursed).

Overall, the hotel was very good. However, My wife and I were very put off by the relentless sales pressure that we were subjected to. At the initial check-in, the clerk was very persistent in trying to up-sell us into a more expensive room with upgraded amenities, pillows, etc. Then our "vacation planner" tried very hard to sell us excursions, only some of which were covered by our hotel credit. We never were oriented to the hotel, so we were somewhat disoriented about the restaurants, pools, etc. Finally, in order to "activate" the hotel credit, we were forced to participate in a 90 minute marketing blitz in which we were encouraged to "invest" somewhere between $500,000 and $16,000 to become members, and receive discounted future stays, and some other perks. Unfortunately, the 90 minutes stretched to 3 1/2 hours, after which the incentives that we were promised never materialized. I functionally wasted a day of my vacation. For what we payed for this trip, I was profoundly unhappy about this. Overall though, the hotel was very nice, the service was good, the food was good (not great though). I will not be recommending the Palace Cozumel or any other Palace hotels to my friends. There are plenty of nice hotels to go to without subjecting ourselves th the kind of stress that we incurred.

Overall the Cozumel Palace was very nice. It was a bit frustrating to arrive and get hit up for a time share pitch. The food was very good. We have gone diving with Aqua Safari for over 20 years and it was recently acquired by the hotel. The boat staff was amazing, but they need additional staffing in the equipment check out area. The equipment also needs to be serviced more frequently as we had problems with regulators, etc. Overall, really liked the hotel and the staff and service was very good.

To stay here is having constant smiles and greetings from all employees wanting to make sure all is well. All inclusive, this place is spotlessly clean, nice large room with a balcony facing the pools and ocean. We had 24 hr. room service that i only used for breakfast, (i use this to have more time before diving every morning). The food is always good if not great. The resort is up on a ledge off of the ocean but there are a few ladders to get into the ocean from and a nice pier to enter your boats from. You can get drinks early and all day and night if preferred. Daytime pool games and night time entertainment also. It is walking distance to town and next door to a dolfin show. Their dive shop is a store in the resort which can be quite handy. They use Aqua Safari divers, and for me were also excellent. To get south on the boats to the most popular dive sites will take 45 min.to an hour. However i had a great macro photo dive that is only 10 min. away. This was our third time there and we would positively return. The price for all of this hard to beat.

Great Staff, facilities, and food. Almost perfect

Great location, walking distance to much of Cozumel, including ferry terminal. Food is outstanding for an all-inclusive. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Drinks are plentiful. Rooms are large and nicely appointed Only a couple of complaints: 1) poolside activities and announcements, day and early evening, are very loud, good luck if you're trying to rest; 2) tipping is frustrating, one advantage of an all inclusive is not having to carry a wallet, but tipping is expected for drinks and meals, so you find you're always needing cash. I wish they just had a communal tip envelope at the end of your stay.

we never had one bad experience while we were at this hotel. the service was exceptional. the rooms were great and cleaned daily. the food was great. i can't say enough about the friendly staff though. they truly made our stay special and were more than accommodating when we needed something. i would recommend the palace resorts to anyone who is looking to travel to Cozumel or Playa del Carmen.

Outstanding Service overall, but with some opportunities

This was my first time at a Palace resort. What made this a great stay was the service of the waitstaff, they were outstanding. A quick shout out to Heri, Juan, Emmanuel, and Elizabeth, not only for great service, but for their amazing personalities! The location was a quick walk to local vendors, and the downtown area, and the view was amazing from the room. Service was top notch, from the room being cleaned in the morning, to the turndown in the evening. Waitstaff was attentive, prompt, and professional...and friendly. The spa left much to be desired. The spa itself needs to be updated, but more importantly, the services need to be improved. The holistic massage was terrible. The alcohol provided in room was cheap, but the selection at the bars was much better. Of note, cans of Coke products were in room, but Pepsi products were served at the restaurants and bars. Go figure. Also, drinks were poured weakly....get your pours on rocks and a mixer back...problem solved. Aqua safari is the in-house dive shop, and they were great for the one trip I got in. A morning dive that took us out to Palancar and Torrentos. An evening dive scheduled was cancelled by them, due to not meeting the minimum number of divers...disappointing to say the least. Another day they were completely booked, and the hotel offered no other solution for diving...again, disappointing. ...this is why people come to Cozumel. Now, for the room credit... $500 to $2500 depending on your length of stay. WAY TOO MANY RESTRICTIONS on use. Limits on certain activities, I $300 on spa...but more significantly, certain DAYS of use. This meant leaving $700 of $1500 on the table. And yes, you do have to pay 16% of the value used. Finally, the timeshare presentation...it wasn't pushy, until the last guy, Hector. In fact, it was downright enjoyable until this creep entered. He was odd, and insulting. In the end, I wish I hadn't done it...not enough incentive to put up with Hector...and it felt like doing work on vacation. There you have it...a lot of plusses, and a few opps. It is the carribean, so you can't go to wrong...enjoy.

First Trip to Cozumel

We swapped a Marriott/Interval New Jersey summer time share for a week at the Cozumel Palace. The facility was in wonderful shape and we were able to overlap our trip with the Cozumel Ironman Triathlon and the hotel's preparation for Christmas. We upgraded to a 5th floor room for $20 per night. The meal and beverage all inclusive fee included discounts on a number of activities including SCUBA and spa. We dined at all the restaurants and we thought all of the meals were very good in terms of quality and variety. The only experience that did not meet our expectations was the romantic dinner. Service was extremely slow and we felt all the meals in other restaurants were as good or better than the surf and turf served for dinner. Transfers from and to Cancun were very well managed through the hotel.
