The restaurant needs better entertainment and more restaurants. For being there 7 nights, we struggled on finding food that was good enough to go eat again for dinner. Oriental restaurant was not good at all for sushi. Only 1 breakfast place and it was the same old thing. If I go back there, I wouldn't stay 7 nights due to lack of places to eat.

A great vacation. Staff were attentive and service was outstanding. Every time we turned around someone was there asking if we needed anything. All inclusive is the way to go. The food is very good with plenty of variety. Snorkeling of the back of the hotel, though unexpected, was good. Expensive, but worth it. Caveat: Avoid rooms 1-10 on the 3rd floor as they are across from a very noisy mechanical room. A low frequency rumble. We didnt mind so much, but some would find it pretty annoying.

We loved every minute at the Palace. Of course they have other locations over on the mainland that can be used interchangeably as well but we preferred to stay in Cozumel. The staff are delightful, helpful and looking for ways to serve you. They don't just get what you ask for - they are thinking ahead. The facilities were always clean, the food delicious and the help came in huge servings. There is no beach at this hotel but you can get beach easily over on the mainland or in places nearby. You can snorkel right outside the hotel and its easy with equipment provided if necessary. All the rooms are beautiful, have a balcony and look out at the water. We recommend being on at least the 3rd floor to better enjoy the view. Watching the cruise ships go by and seeing the other watercraft was mesmerizing. Nights were delightful looking at all the lights. We also enjoyed the $1500 extra credit for special things. We used it for massages, special trips and other fun things. We hope to go back soon. We weren't just satisfied - we were highly impressed.

we stayed 5 days at cozumel palace, loved every day! we went to playacar palace for one of the days, which is great if you want lots of beach! wonderful service, excellent bar staff...would not waste my time ever again with the palace time share/vacation club presentation...seems like it might be an okay deal; however, you still have to pay quite a bit for your weeks on top of a fee to join for your weeks, plus we had issues getting our promised ferry tickets (reimbursed).

Overall, the hotel was very good. However, My wife and I were very put off by the relentless sales pressure that we were subjected to. At the initial check-in, the clerk was very persistent in trying to up-sell us into a more expensive room with upgraded amenities, pillows, etc. Then our "vacation planner" tried very hard to sell us excursions, only some of which were covered by our hotel credit. We never were oriented to the hotel, so we were somewhat disoriented about the restaurants, pools, etc. Finally, in order to "activate" the hotel credit, we were forced to participate in a 90 minute marketing blitz in which we were encouraged to "invest" somewhere between $500,000 and $16,000 to become members, and receive discounted future stays, and some other perks. Unfortunately, the 90 minutes stretched to 3 1/2 hours, after which the incentives that we were promised never materialized. I functionally wasted a day of my vacation. For what we payed for this trip, I was profoundly unhappy about this. Overall though, the hotel was very nice, the service was good, the food was good (not great though). I will not be recommending the Palace Cozumel or any other Palace hotels to my friends. There are plenty of nice hotels to go to without subjecting ourselves th the kind of stress that we incurred.

Overall the Cozumel Palace was very nice. It was a bit frustrating to arrive and get hit up for a time share pitch. The food was very good. We have gone diving with Aqua Safari for over 20 years and it was recently acquired by the hotel. The boat staff was amazing, but they need additional staffing in the equipment check out area. The equipment also needs to be serviced more frequently as we had problems with regulators, etc. Overall, really liked the hotel and the staff and service was very good.

Wonderful Resort. Everything was 5 star! The restaurants were all amazing, with wide food choices and lots of healthy options. Italian, Mexican, Asian, and the outdoor restaurant serving steaks, fish and chicken from the grill were all excellent. You order from a menu, and have incredible choices for appetizers, soups, salads, entrees and deserts. The waiters somehow see exactly when your wine glass is empty and are right there with a refill. William at the Mexican restaurant was our favorite waiter. The rooms are elegant, comfortable and clean. The maid comes twice daily and the place is spotless. Room service is quick too. Snorkeling gear and Stand Up Paddleboards are provided. Snorkeling is good right outside the hotel, and you can also continue to snorkel up and down the coast from here. The pool activities and games were fun. They have an entertainment staff that makes sure you are having fun. Carlos, Gabrielle, and Suzee (SuHay) were awesome. Yoga, Pilates, Pool Aerobics and Stand up Paddleboard. The entertainment staff goes out with you on the paddleboard, plays Ping-Pong with guests, and are always around! There is entertainment every evening. It's usually an hour show of some type with Dancers and Musicians. It's low key and fun, especially with the warm ocean breezes and a tropical drink. We loved everything EXCEPT the hard sell pitch to get you to go to a vacation club presentation. You need to talk to these people to activate your resort credits. The pitch is to go to a 90 min presentation and get free stuff. After saying we were NOT going to the presentation multiple times, we ended up yelling the representative and just getting up and leaving. For a while, I was so mad I thought I would never go back to a palace resort. But eventually the other good things at this resort made me forget this bad experience. I'm not sure how to avoid these vacation club 'invitations' in the future without all this drama.

Birthday Celebration

I stayed at Cozumel Palace for 8 days in January with my mom for her Birthday trip and we had a wonderful time. This is I think my 5th trip to Cozumel Palace and they did not disappoint. This was my moms first visit and she said it was the best vacation she had ever been on. The food is always wonderful at CP. We enjoyed wonderful dinners at all 3 restaurants. ( Williams - Mexican and Ruisel - Italian were stand servers and Ruby is a wonderful hostess) I always enjoy the breakfast buffet. From the special made to order egg dishes to the Mexican dishes on the buffet there is always something great to try. Manuel also had my mimosa with a little juice perfected by the second day. The food by the pool is one of the hidden gems about CP. It is so good. My mom likes to eat at the lunch tables and Darwin and Alfonso took wonderful care of us. But you can also have these snacks delivered to you poolside if you choose. There is no true beach at CP but they have a great pool and is heated a little in the winter if needed. Roger has been a special employee to me since our first visit. He works so incredibly hard. He is a wonderful server by the pool always making sure you have everything you need. I always try and find a chair in his section. On his day of Emmanuel took care of us and he didn’t miss a beat. Raul and Jose are wonderful Bartenders by the pool. Carlos did an great job in the main lobby bar. The entertainment staff does a good job of having activities without getting on your nerves like they do at some other resorts. We really enjoyed Carlos For water aerobics and Gabriel is always funny. I had a wonderful massage from Maury in the spa. Nelson and Vincent with vacation planning are also great. I look forward to my next trip.

Unbelievable 😀😀

This was a unbelievable stay! We got there around 11:30 and our room was not ready. We could use everything and they said they would email me once it was ready. At 2pm I went and checked and the room was ready. 2 minutes later the email came through. Room: The room was beautiful. We were in room 510 and the view was wonderful and I liked that the room was down from the pool but it is a long walk from the elevators. The first night they forgot to do the turndown services so we called and they were right up. The blue chocolates they put by the bed are wonderful. Service: Everyone of the meals but one we had excellent service. If you look at the percentages, 3 meals a day for 8 days, one is not bad. In the mornings I would have a latte and the only fruit I can eat is blueberries and they would bring me a bowl every morning. Some mornings they would be frozen and sometimes not but either way it was nice. My son an daughter in law were with us and they would bring them the same fruit drink once they figured out they would drink one every morning. Dinner service was great team work. It wasn’t just one person that would help you but everyone. Joel was wonderful in the Mexican and Asian restaurants. Always there to help. Bar/Pool Drinks: Pablo was always around to make sure we had what we needed. Whether a drink or food. Try the bar pizza is you need a snack, it was good. Food: We have stayed at a lot of all inclusive and this was the best food. Great variety in the buffet with special made omelets. The majority of lunches was by the pool bar. My kids loved the fajitas and I enjoyed the quesadillas. Dinners were always good. The Italian was really good but we enjoyed the Mexican the most. But again, they were all good. Internet: Good through out the whole resort Resort Credits: Chocolate/Wine - Wow, this was educational and enjoyable. We were very fortunate because it was a slow time and it was only four of us at the tour. Granted, the chocolate we made was fun but didn’t taste very good :). Discovery Mexico - My husband really wanted to do this. It was ok but could have done without it. The models of the buildings could use some updating. Snorkeling - Short but fun. We saw a moray eel, lots of sea snakes, clown fish, barracuda and lots of fish. The only problem was the jellyfish came in and it was not enjoyable. If they touched you it did sting but don’t itch it, it didn’t last long. The jellyfish did takeaway from watching for fish because you were watching for jellyfish. Swimming with the Stingrays - We got into a HUGE group, to big. We swam with the rays and sharks. If you have your own snorkeling gear, bring it. Theirs is really bad. Lots of salt water come in. After swimming with the rays we got to touch and feed the rays. I am glad we did it but my son and daughter in law got a little freaked out by it. Swimming with the Dolphins (Ultimate) - This is at Dolphins Discovery about 5.5 Miles from the Cozumel Palace, not next door. It was good even though the waves were crazy big. Pictures are expensive $240 for 4 people. Chefs Dinner - The food was Excellent! I was a little confused because I thought we would be more involved in the food prep but we were just served. It still was a very enjoyable night. Romantic Dinner - My Son and Daughter in law did this and they said they had a good time. Massage - Just do one!! It was very relaxing. We were very pleased with our stay at the Cozumel Palace. Really no complaints.

Resort was recommended to us by travel agent. The resort was smaller than other places we have been but that proved to be great. Never had to fight for loungers. The staff were extremely polite and courteous to us. The food was delicious at each restaurant. The buffet could have been changed up, it was basically same food each night, but was good. Me and my son both lost our sunglasses paddle boarding and the lifeguard was the only one who could dive deep enough to find them. He found my sons but after hours spent looking for mine they were gone. It’s the little things like them sending someone to look when not expected that stands out in people’s minds. I would recommend this resort to anyone looking to go to Cozumel. We stayed in the loft suite which was perfect with two boys and us. It gave them their own space and was a great choice. Again, I would defiantly stay at this resort again and recommend to anyone.

I can see why others would like it more

Disclaimer in that I am a Club Med junkie and I look at every resort through that filter. Having seen Cozumel and Playa del Carmen I know that I just don’t like these kinds of tourist and cruise ship filled towns and prefer a quieter beach kind of trip. Also, this was a package booked through Costco including transfers. First, calling this a resort is being generous. It’s a hotel on the ocean with a spa. A resort, to me, has a huge property and tons of activities. This doesn’t qualify. But it was still a lovely mini break. Pros: tons of lovely, polite, accommodating staff make you feel special. Very comfortable rooms; quiet air conditioning; quality bath products; slippers and robe; flat iron in addition to blow dryer! Nicer than standard club med room. Three a la carte restaurants, if that’s your thing. I missed Club Med variety and frenchifcation of even Mexican foods. Easy walk to town, including a Mega if you forgot anything at home — WalMart-like, and to the ferry. If you like finding American chains in away places (Starbucks, Hooters, McDonald’s you will be happy....not me....) Nice infinity pool; lovely deck chairs overlooking ocean, plenty of towels Ability to visit sister resort in Playa del Carmen, playacar palace. Cons: Food is ok. Breakfast was the best meal of the day. Variety, quality. The rest of the meals were hit or miss. Nothing awful but nothing that wowed. Worst was the Asian place, and I know, why am I eating Asian food in Mexico? My daughter’s choice that night. Service was weird in the a la carte settings. Overly solicitous in some cases and equally neglectful. It took three days before we realized there were dessert menus simply because no one came to check on us or clear plates after the main course. The dinner buffet looked meager. Same desserts every night. Maybe having three sit down restaurants plus the dinner buffet just stretches the kitchen too much? Ocean: fine but I can see that climbing up a down a metal ladder could be a serious problem for some. And, I really need a beach on my vacation. I think you might need to beware of jellyfish? Now that I’m home that’s what I think happened to my arm. But snorkeled seemed content. Activities: just so sad in comparison to the enthusiasm, variety and participation at a Club Med. I know it isn’t anywhere close to the size but it just made me miss my Club Med days so much when I heard them trying to get people to get up and get involved. Drinks, typical resort too weak and served in silly tall overly large glasses. Couldn’t get a smaller, normal size glass outside. But bartenders were willing to make me a stronger less sweet drink so it can be done. Resort credits: we had $750 to use. Total of $150 permitted in spa (that’s what we did). Some of the tours required you to find your own transportation which we weren’t going to bother doing. Pros - some nice choices and unused credits are held for a year or so. Spa experience was quite nice. Cons - transportation charges plus 16% fee would really add up the out of pocket spending. Ferry: nice option for a day trip! We were at the hotel for only 4 nights but we opted to scoot across to Playa del Carmen. Sort of like 2 vacations in one! Enjoyed seeing and experiencing Playacar Palace. Shame that the beach around Playa seems to have been mainly swept away by hurricanes. Tough jump down to the ocean. Rough ferry crossing so load up on the Dramamine if you tend to get seasick.
