This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. We love the location and the grounds are beautiful. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Our only complaint would be that the bathrooms could use some updating and could not believe we were taxed on the parking fees they seem very high. Overall we had a wonderful stay at the hotel.

Service was great!! Although there were some staff there that gave off the feeling that they really didnt want to be there, but I didnt let that bring a downer to our vacation. The hotel was beautiful and I would love to stay there again if possible.

even though the hotel was under remodeling and we were not told things went pretty smoothly.we did get woke up alot from construction noise and there were parts of the pool that were restricted at times but since it was our honeymoon we ignored those distractions.in the future i would let people know in advance there is construction and let them not be surprised.

The room was fairly modern and clean. When I needed the battery in the safe replaced, someone came up within 15 minutes. Staff was friendly and cordial. Hotel was blocks from grocery stores and restaurants. I would stay here again.

Our room was spacious and clean. The beds were comfortable. Great ocean view. And the staff was friendly and accommodating. Good value for the money. Would stay there again. It was cool when we were there, but we left Hawaii for MN and I said to my son when we arrived, It was cold in Hawaii. The next morning it was 4 degrees in MN. My son said tell me again how cold it was in Hawaii. Not that cold after all.

Ok but needs renovation

Large oceanview room on 3rd floor for 6 nights, not a horrible stay. View from room was great. Room and bathroom was as clean as I guess they could get it. Mildew in bathroom. Room had a musty smell. Really liked the shutter doors covering the french doors to the balcony. Liked the dark wood decor of furniture in room, but needs replacing drawers wouldn't close. Room didn't seem sealed well against humidity. Staff were professional and courteous. Ate dinner at the bar for Taco Tuesday, was pretty good. Hotel conveniently located to shops and restaurants. Longs Drugs Store is within walking distance and very convenient, visited a few times. All in all not a bad stay but not the best Courtyard.

Disappointing. Not the same.

We have been to Kauai several times and we have always loved staying st the Courtyard Coconut Grove. It is such a lovely setting and we had perfectly good service in the past. However this time has been disappointing. Two days in a row our room was not cleaned. At 2 pm in the afternoon we had to call to get it serviced. The first day we called, we were told that we might not get our room serviced as a result of having had the do-not-disturb sign out between 8 and 10 in the morning. That we might have to make do with some fresh towels but no other service to the room. Having learned from that, we removed the sign first thing this morning. We rented bikes and went on a long hot and tiring ride, looking forward to a shower when we returned to the room at around 3 pm. We came in to find the bed unmade and room unserviced. We called the housekeeping line and got the question again, did we have a do-not-disturb sign in the door at 8? Apparently having a do-not-disturb sign on the room at 8 am means you may not get your rooms serviced at all for the day. This is a situation I’ve never encountered before. Are the hotels trying to put themselves out of business, driving customers to airbnb and vrbo? When you’re hot and tired and trying to avoid getting a migraine, this routine grows old. I don’t understand what happened to the service orientation that I’ve come to expect over the hundreds of nights I’ve stayed at Marriotts and similar hotels. I hope this is not what the hotel has come to. As of now we are planning to find another place to stay next time we come to Kauai. I know I’m whining but I want my lovely Courtyard experience back.. !

Time for renovations

Stayed here before, but this is the first time we used the pool. It’s falling apart. Yes, pieces of the pool are actually chipping away. We had an “executive oceanfront” room. It was spacious, except for the bathroom. It had a musty smell. I think we can do better. So can Marriott
