The restaurants menus were all very specific tatstes. There wasn’t one restaurant where you could order a simple steak and vegetable.

The resort staff was not very helpful. We felt as if we were bothering the staff when asking questions or for information. I had an allergic reaction and was in be for 2 days. I took every precaution necessary to avoid this and come to find out it was something the hotel was doing. When I told the front desk, the girl shrugged her shoulders and said ok. That was it. I explained that people DIE from allergies and she didn't seem to care. I will not go back or recommend this resort to my family or friends.

Coconut Bay was a very nice resort, clean, comfortable. We LOVED the local talent that came in every night along with the entertainment staff. The food was very good, we really enjoyed the Jerk Tree and the lunch in the cove. The only drawbacks were the pools were pretty cold...1 out of 8 of us ever got in, we got in the hot tub daily. Also , definetly, the seaweed on the beach and in the ocean was disappointing, but we took the shuttle to paradise beach on the Carribean side...beautiful! Overall, we enjoyed this resort!

Lovely Place! The pictures on Apple match exactly what it was like. Very Clean place from the rooms to the pools to the restaurants. The only downfall was the beach had tons of seaweed while they had a tractor going all day plowing and pushing the seaweed away from the beach. If you don't mind a little seaweed while in the ocean then you are good. The ocean was also the Atlantic Ocean. It was still really warm. Lots of activities for the kids and nice and quiet for the adults in the Haramony Wing. Coconut bay also offers a free shuttle to a beach on the Caribbean side. This is not advertised. Everyone heard from word of mouth. This is a most! It's nice they offer that while they figure out the seaweed situation.

We took our 17 year old son and his best friend. They had a blast! The staff was great, we were only disappointed in the cleanliness of the hotel. Otherwise, we had a great time too!

Misleading information from Apple Vacations
RONALD S.
Jun 30 2018
The invoices that we received from Apple Vacations indicated that each family would receive a $500 "resort credit". When we arrived we found out that the "resort credit" was actually a coupon book for discounts. To receive any of the resort credit you needed to spend money on various activities and then you would get a discount. This is not only misleading, in my opinion, it is fraud.

LIES

Apple promised a $500 resort credit for each room of our group reservation. This was an out and Apple promised us a $500 resort credit per room of our family vacation. We had a group of 15 people and several rooms. This was an out and out lie. The resort knew nothing of this and refused to to grant any such credit. This lie caused a great deal of stress for us and was a terrible start to our vacation.

Per Apple invoice credit was to be issued on arrival. Credit turned out to be a coupon book. Reception assistant did not explain how it worked. Ended up with a $487 bill to pay. No credit applied. RIP OFF!!

Hubby and I have been to many, many different islands. St.Lucia is beautiful. The hotel was great and the split sides for adults and family was great for us as we are older but could still enjoy the young ones when we wanted to. It think it would be really great for our whole family. The food was either very good or just ok. With 4 restaurants that need reservations we were not able to get any which was a bit disappointing. We don't drink and I drink iced tea which I was only able to get in the main restaurant--no bars had it. On arrival we had to ask for our luggage to be taken up which they did no problem. Our Apple rep was really nice but we did not get good info for our tours. Times we off. In booking I wish I would have know the resort was on the Atlantic side as we love to snorkel right off the beach and couldn't because of the waves and trade winds--some days there was no beach at all which is not anyones fault I just wish we would have had the info to make the right choice for us. The staff was disappointing as I love to interact with the locals and I would say we had mostly polite, not rude but not engaging staff. Then again a lesser percent were fantastic. All in all we had a wonderful time.

March 2019 Visit- Dinner Reservation Issue Tips

Overall, the best resort for the value of the excellent meals, kite-surfing. Loved the Jerk Shack on the beach and all of the restaurants that we were able to get into. Here's what they don't tell you: 1. Not all of the restaurants are included in this "all inclusive resort". Some, you have to pay extra for. And good wine in also extra. Kind of a surprise…. 2. We tried to make reservations 3 months in advance, as we had a large group of 10 and wanted to make sure that we could all be accommodated together for 2 birthdays and a 30th anniversary. We were told to call back a week before check in. We did, and then were told we had to wait until we arrived. We did, but were told we had to wait until the day of check-in. We did (check-in is at 3:00, got there at 12:00 and were told that all the restaurants were BOOKED ALREADY! So upsetting- finally got into the LAST SEATINGS at 8;30 and 9:00 pm, when our group was ready for bed.....their system must be fixed. 3. For Lap Swimming, try the lazy river at off hours early in morning or after 5pm. The other pools are either for kids or are too small. 4. Petting Zoo is great except for the horses and donkeys tied out in the sun with NO WATER or shade tree. One had a huge sore across its nose from the halter being too tight and straining against it to get to shade or water- not enough grass to eat. Sad state of animal abuse, that needs to be fixed (as a horse owner, I am more aware then most guests....). 5. Entertainment is Excellent! Food is Excellent! Beach is excellent! Kite boarding! Staff is EXCELLENT -amazing animal towel sculptures from the maids complete with flowers on the beds, food is EXCELLENT in all of the included places that we tried. The AC is a must- we spent the first week on a charter boat, sweating in our beds and really appreciated having bedrooms with AC and a balcony.

We just returned from a week long stay with our family of 6 (including 2 4-year-olds). Overall we had a great trip. The resort is perfectly set up for large groups and families with kids. Lots of things for all aged children to do and to keep them entertained. And the staff (especially the pool staff) was great with the kids -- talked and played with them every day (even riding the slides with our son). The water slides and lazy river were a great way to break up the day. It was great to have kid-focused drinks available and many of the activities they really enjoyed. We enjoyed the music every night and appreciated that it started (and ended) early enough for everyone to enjoy. We also booked a day tour with Kurt (Island Man Tours) which I would recommend. I'm sure the resort options are fine but it was nice to have our own driver and be able to customize the exact itinerary we wanted. Reading a lot of the reviews -- I think many of them are quite fair in their descriptions of the rooms and resort. And the strong difference in opinions (and ratings) I would propose are due to varied expectations of the guests. I also agree with the previous reviewer who mentioned that the responses to these reviews left by the manager appear quite aggressive and had me quite nervous and uncomfortable. Thankfully, that attitude was not shared by any of the staff we encountered who were universally great.

We stayed here in December 2018 with our 4 children for a week on an all inclusive basis. We had two rooms next to each other which were clean and well looked after by our lovely maid. The rooms are very dated and we had lots of problems with sliding doors that were stiff and tiny bathrooms with shower curtains that kept flooding the floor. However despite this the staff were brilliant and the service was fast and efficient in all areas of the hotel. The entire hotel needs a huge facelift and some bits are more tatty than others but if you get past this there are a lot of good points. The food was consistently good and even excellent in some places, you need to book any of the restaurants as soon as you arrive or like us you will end up in the buffet most nights as they get booked up so fast. You can eat and drink all day long if you want to and there is a restaurant with stuff for the kids available all day long so they never go hungry. There is a good choice of wine and sprits and the lovely bar staff will make anything you like. All in all the Caribbean worked its magic on us and after a few days we did not notice the decor so much but the hotel would really benefit from a makeover and those sliding doors do need to be replaced!

A visit to paradise

This is the closet all inclusive resort to an airport that we have ever visited! The transfer from the airport to the resort only took about 5 or 6 minutes! After a 5 plus hour flight from a Toronto this was very much appreciated. The resort front desk staff were friendly and had us booked in and up to our room promptly. The room was clean and bright with lots of closet and drawer space for all our things. We had requested a king bd but our room had 2 queens. We ere told there were no kings available but if one came up we would be notified. We were never advised of a king bed room, so we made due with the room we were given. It was on the second floor on the adult side and had a lovely view of the grounds and the ocean, so we were fine. We did have an issue with the hair dryer in the bathroom not working, but when we called about it we were given a portable hair dryer to use. I can’t say enough about the staff at this resort. They were so kind, attentive and warm people. When we had to leave early due to an illness in the family our maid gave us both a big hug! The food at all the a la carte restaurants was very good. Make sure to make reservations as soon as you get there, as some are not available every day. The buffet area was adequate, although it was inside and could be very noisy and busy. The nightly entertainment was good. The bars were great and Dillon and Jessica were two of our favourite bartenders. This resort is nice in the fact that you can enjoy the quiet of the adult side and the more lively family side depending on your mood. Although it was very windy during the week we were there and a huge amount of sea grass was being blown onto the beach, the clean up crew was on top of this issue and worked very hard to keep it under control. The pools never felt too crowded and were very nice and the grounds here were beautiful. Loved our stay in St Lucia and will definitely return!

Stunning St. Lucia!

The best part of this location is the proximity to the airport! We arrived at the resort within 5 minutes! Having said that, if you are concerned about the noise from being that close, don't be, there are only a few flight per day and they all arrive and take off during the late afternoon. Other than that, there are only small aircraft coming in and out and you hardly notice them. It's not that easy to get around on the island so if you are staying at the other end of the island away from the airport the transfer time can take up to 2 hours. We stayed in the Harmony Section(adults only) and were checked in privately by Eric who essentially took care of our every need throughout our stay. Our dinner reservations had already been taken care of but having said that, we made a few changes and they were taken care of immediately. Yes, the rooms are a tad tired but more than adequate and spotless - thank you Shirley for your fun and imaginative towel animals everyday and of course your timely service! We found the food to be above average and enjoyed our dinners even more when we had Hermine in the restaurant. If you feel like indulging yourselves, go to The Great House restaurant at Serenity. It is fabulous! Yes, there is turtle grass on the beach but it is everywhere in the Caribbean, on the Atlantic side of the islands. The resort made the daunting effort to clean it up a couple of times per day but really there was little they could do to keep up with it. We visited a couple of beaches on the the Caribbean side and there was very little there. The island and it's people are beautiful and we look forward to returning!
