CoCo Beach Bermuda
Nov 17 2015
Hotel is right on the beach in a series of separate buildings each with 10-12 rooms. The view of the ocean is fantastic. The Hotel is clean and the staff pleasant. Not much in the way of amenities and though the pool is quite nice, there is no spa. The stay was pleasant and met our expectations for the price, which was reasonable in an otherwise expensive vacation locale. We spent an entire week with the idea of getting there fast so that we could take it slow, just the Beach Boys song..

Coco Reef Resort for a Day Excellent Experience

There is no better way to pass the day in Bermuda than the Resort for a Day at the beautiful and intimate Coco Reef Resort. Our cruise ship was in port here in Bermuda for three days and we spent one full day in luxurious relaxation at this resort. The hotel is situated on the glorious pink sand of Elbow beach. Coco Reef is prettily decorated in an old world European style with gold accents and marble statues. The pool area is very comfortable with plenty of lounge chairs. We spent a long time at the beach, enjoying the clear blue water, gentle waves, and talcum soft sand. Our pass also allowed us to experience a scrumptious included lunch. The resort service is first class. This was certainly a memorable and wonderful day!

50th Birthday In Bermuda!

We loved our stay. Since I research everything I knew what to expect. We stayed ocean front and It was def worth it to stay closest to the water. The other rooms were too far away and way up hill. The beach is the best! We snorkeled everyday and saw the largest parrot fish I have ever seen - at least 3 ft long and right near shore. Get your chair and umbrellas early they go quick. They offer day passes to cruise ships but it wasn’t that bad. Just get to the chairs before they arrive. Food was very good but expensive as everything in Bermuda. Service was very polite. They also serve you on the beach when you catch a waiter. Snorkeling is best at low tide. Use the golf cart person to get to the bus stop for grocery and Paraquet restaurant (good food priced well). Also Instead of walking uphill we cut through very nice college, no hill. They have a book store inside the college. Staff was friendly and accommodating except for one large woman at the front desk one evening. She was apathetic and knew nothing. Room- The fridge is hidden under the TV! The room was clean - decor doesn’t concern us. It was easy to get room towels but had a hard time finding beach towels. The grounds are beautiful and clean. We stayed on the bottom floor for easy access to beach. Walk over to elbow beach resort for Mickeys. Great food also expensive. Beautiful setting. Walk the beach all the way west for a quiet paradise setting. People need to remember to pick up ALL of their trash when leaving. We would stay here again and not go anywhere else.

Wake up to the beach paradise

The room was perfectly located with an ocean view and a quick stroll down to the beach. A perfect quiet beach away from the crowds. The room was nicely sized and clean with beautiful local art on the walls. Some may find the wicker style furniture to be 90s tropical stereotype, but I love that style for island vacations. There is a nice little grocery store about 5 minute walk away on main road. My mom and I used cabs to get around to different locales, which can add up cost wise. If you're able to, I would suggest renting a scooter for your stay. On the "private" beach around 1pm, service was offered for lunch and drink orders. Although, for some reason he didn't show up Sunday, not a huge biggie, we just walked up to hotel restaurant and sat outside enjoying the gorgeous view and ocean breeze for a lunch break. My only big con would be no mini-fridge in the rooms. Would have really liked to be able to at least keep bottles of water cold. (There was a ice machine thankfully nearby)

My stay at the Coco Reef was spectacular. The location is convenient and near the city of Hamilton. Not that you would want to leave the resort, the beach and views are picturesque and ideal for rest and relaxation. The lounge serves food all day long, tasty and reasonably priced. Highly recommend the Coco Reef Resort! Best stay ever!!

Good enough

When I read the reviews before booking this hotel I was hesitant. However, the other options where far more expensive and since this was a scuba diving trip, I figured we were not going to be spending a lot of time in the hotel anyway. So here are the facts: Location: perfect, on Elbow Beach in the middle of the island so it is easy to get to any place. It is close to Hamilton, and yet very peaceful. The beach is just gorgeous and above all, not crowded like Horseshoe Bay or The Fairmont Hotel. Grade A+ Accommodations: The rooms are clean and the grounds well kept. It is not a big hotel so it is quiet and never crowded. If you are looking for exciting night life, this hotel is not for you. We visited some of the 5 start hotels, and the more we saw, the happier we were with Coco Reef. The grounds and installations were comparable but the crowds were a turn off. Breakfast is included which is a major plus in Bermuda. Grade B+ Ambiance: the hotel is dated. Period, end of story. It takes a while to get over the visual impact of the decor. It is a surreal blend of Rococco, 80's tropical decor, and African art. But once you are over the initial shock, you may become fond of this one of a kind visual journey. The rooms are not fancy, the bathrooms could use a makeover and the doors in and out of the main lobby could be automatic. They are heavy and cumbersome to get luggage through. This is not a hotel for people with disabilities. Grade C- Service: Average at best. The staff is nice but not polished and everyone is on island time. They mirror the easy going feel of the hotel. Bottom line: If you are looking for 5 start service, this is not a hotel for you. If you are looking for a quiet place with a beautiful beach, conveniently located and reasonably priced in comparison to similar options, Coco Reef is a good choice.
