CoCo Beach Bermuda
STUART M.

Hotel is right on the beach in a series of separate buildings each with 10-12 rooms. The view of the ocean is fantastic. The Hotel is clean and the staff pleasant. Not much in the way of amenities and though the pool is quite nice, there is no spa. The stay was pleasant and met our expectations for the price, which was reasonable in an otherwise expensive vacation locale. We spent an entire week with the idea of getting there fast so that we could take it slow, just the Beach Boys song..

Excellent 5 Day Getaway For Sure...!

Me and my wife work hard and we work a lot of hours and the time had come that we both needed a break and to get away for a week from everything. We had talked to a lot of different people that we know and most of them highly suggested to us to go to Bermuda for sure. I had booked the flight and made the hotel arrangements and it was a lot cheaper than I thought it was going to be.The flight was a little less than 3 hours from where we left from and when we arrived at the airport there everyone was very friendly towards us and had no problems or issues going through customs at all. When we arrived at the hotel all of the staff was professional to the letter and took care of every single thing that was asked for or wanted and service with a smile. After we had got settled we had decided we wanted to go to the beach so I had put on some shorts and my wife put on a strapless bikini and we took off to the beach and get some sun and go swimming. I could not believe how clean the beaches were and the water was crystal clear like something out of a dream for sure. After swimming I decided to lay on the beach and get some sun and it was more than relaxing and it felt really good. While I was laying there and I was totally surprised there was a bunch of really hot women running around on the beach with no tops on at all and what a show it was. My wife caught me looking and she got really mad at me so I had to stop looking. Between the great hotel, the awesome beaches and the crystal clear water this had to be one of the best 5 day getaways we had in a long time at a very reasonable price. We highly recommend the "Coco Reef Resort Bermuda" to everyone as you will have the best time of your life for sure and thank you again and we will see you real soon again...!

Coco Reef: The Good, the Bad, and the Beautiful

My wife and I spent 4 nights at Coco Reef for our 32nd Anniversary, the end of Oct./1st of Nov., 2018. This was our 3rd visit to Coco, and will likely be out last, but more on that in a moment. First of all, as this was our third trip there, obviously we like it. The biggest reason being of course, that view! I’m sure there are other hotels on beautiful Bermuda with equally stunning views, but I’m not sure there are many that are so close to the water. I would highly suggest going for one of their beachfront rooms. This particular trip, we really didn’t do too much other than just sit and admire the stunning views from the lanais outside our room. We had #208 this time, and it’s possibly the best of the dozen or so ground level rooms, as it’s on the corner of the 3 buildings nearest the water. So it really is a relaxing place (perhaps unlike some of the other bigger spots like next door Elbow Beach), and one of our favorite views in the whole world. So what’s our issue(s) with the place? There’s a few. First and foremost, I had reached out on social media and emails etc. to let them know this was our 3rd time coming there, for a big anniversary. I was not looking for any major upgrade or anything, but you might think as a repeat customer celebrating a special event (granted, probably a big percent of their visitors are celebrating something), that they would do ‘something’ to wish us well and thank us for our continued patronage. A cheap bottle of wine, towels shaped like swans on the bed, even a simple “Thank you, happy Anniversary.’ But no - Nothing. And this was pretty much the same as on our two previous visits. It was just in sharp contrast to our dinner on our anniversary night (at the excellent Water Lot) where it seemed like a half dozen people congratulated us within our first 10 minutes there. So, on the friendly, customer service side (and keep in mind they, like many of the resorts on Bermuda, charge a fairly heavy ‘service charge’, found in the fine print) they really need to step up their game. People there are not ‘unfriendly’ but we really have never encountered anyone working there that’s super friendly, or helpful either. A few other areas we felt are a problem. The beach at the moment, is pretty much gone. Which is not their fault. But I’ve seen pics that they have posted that show a large beach area, that is just not the case at least when we were there, and it almost seems like false advertising. As to the rooms, they really should invest some money there. As others have pointed out, they’re ‘functional’ enough, but kind of ‘bleh.” (The bed was comfortable though!). The TV was not much bigger than a large laptop. And sure, you likely don’t go to Bermuda to watch TV, but we like to watch an hour of TV before bed (and Coco is not a hot spot for nightlife). So come on guys - put some decent sized flat screens in the rooms. And, that finally comes around to money. Compared to other places on the island, Coco is overall a decent deal. But the prices at their restaurant (which is pretty good, and again - those views!) are pretty outrageous. The worst example is their basic breakfast, which cost us over $55 for two! For that kind of money, you’d expect non-stop mimosas, not just bacon and eggs. I don’t post nearly as much as I should here on TripAdvisor, just when I truly feel a place really deserves special praise, or criticism. Obviously, we care about this spot on the very special island of Bermuda. It ‘could’ be so much better though. Again, the surroundings and amazing ocean views make it a place well worth visiting, and making repeat visits. We both just really felt like the level of service (or lack thereof), and some of those other issues, made us both agree that next time we’ll probably look elsewhere. But ‘location, location, location’ does still warrant giving it a four star rating in my opinion. We’re not ‘high maintenance’ travelers, but a little bit more attention, would have gone a long way.

We just got back from our Anniversary trip to Coco Reef. I can't say enough good things about the hotel. Beautiful hotel and wonderful staff. Everyone was so friendly. The only suggestion I have for travelers is they need to bring a pair of walking shoes that are comfortable. The bus system was our choice of travel and we love every minute of talking to the locals and visiting all the local beaches. The food at the hotel was top notch. I would advise visitors to get breakfast included with your stay....delicious.

Wonderful Views and Grounds

We had a wonderful time at the Coco Reef Resort. The hotel is located directly on the far end of Elbow Beach, however when we arrived the beach had recently been washed out from the previous storm so we could not swim off of or lay on the beach. They did have beach chairs up one terrace and we had several beautiful evenings sitting in the chairs, drinking champagne and listening to the waves. There is a cut through to Elbow Beach Hotel and we simply walked over and accessed the beach from their hotel. We also had a lovely (expensive) breakfast there and the best value on the island with a Tappas buffet and drink at the Elbow Beach Hotel on Friday evenings for $25. So, back to the Coco Reef Hotel. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and the views from the waterfront rooms are spectacular. We wished they had secure screens on the sliding glass door as we slept with the door open but not sure how safe that was as we were on the ground floor. The rooms are plenty big enough but as people mentioned - the bath rooms are dated and so is the wicker furniture. We would recommend the hotel having coffee and tea in the lobby in the morning. We missed our morning tea, but didn't want to go to the restaurant every morning for breakfast. In summary, this is not a five star hotel, but has five star views. We would stay here again and hope that the beach has returned by that time.

Enjoyed our stay at CoCo Reef resort in Bermuda.

My husband and I recently spent 6 nights at CoCo Reef. I needed an accessible room and we were given a room very close to the lobby. It was lovelyand had a patio with a gorgeous view of the ocean and beautiful foliage. We enjoyed the very nice pool but it was difficult for me to get down to the beach with my handicap. There was not much beach possibly due to erosion. The staff was absolutely amazing .They were extremely attentive and got you whatever you needed. One of the staff members took me to the pool and would have taken me to the beach but I was safer at the pool. We had a full breakfast included besides fruit, pastries, toast ,yogurt, ahot breakfast with eggs, omelletes, french toast and pancakes. We found the food to be delicious. The service was unbelievably fantastic. The waiters and waitresses waited on you quickly and kept returning to make sure that we had what we needed. They kept refilling our coffee cups too. The front desk got us taxis and made reservations when we needed them. CoCo Reef resort does not have a fitness room but has privileges for guests to use the fitness room at Bermuda College which is extremely close. My husband used the fitness room and thought that it was well equipped. the problem occured when the front desk couldn't get in touch with the security guard at the college to let him in. It is locked. He thought that it might be helpful if the front desk had a key card for resort guests. We enjoyed our stay and will always remember the wonderful staff at CoCo Reef.
