Gorgeous hotel, huge, u even got a map! Food was great, chill out area if u r privileged which u should upgrade. Alcohol is genuine, lethal! Lol... Lovely cocktails, parasio and baby monkey with Baylis. Yum. Very hot! Lots to do, exciting people to meet mostly Americans who are so friendly. Staff are friendly, service is great. Beautiful and I must go back. The rooms u can hear everyone and everything..... It was ok... Not that bad. U can rent golf carts that are cheap. We had fun driving around the whole complex. It's very safe and secure. U can see dolphins every day, just walking to the shop the marina is round the corner. U get to see them doing tricks and sessions with people in the water. U can just watch and not told to go away or anything. Iguanas are everywhere, small and large. It's just amazing the animals u will see. Wifi is ok too. Be careful at night in the restaurants as they offer wine at discount it's not all inclusive. Also our first breakfast was al a carte and they ask if u can bring a credit card with u or show them, I wondered why but realised that someone sits with u and offers u a service for them to select and book holidays for u! They say they can save u money and ask u questions about how much u paid for your holiday, how many times u go away etc. At a cost of Atleast £11,000! Lol.... Be careful. She sat with us for our breakfast trying to offer her services. When the cost came out u had to pay half up front! Don't be fooled. I loved it here so much that although I was told to go to playa del carman and coco bongo... I had so much fun I didn't go out the complex.... A must hotel and holiday. More>

Hold on to your wallet!!

Came with Three other couples and all felt like we had to hold on to our wallets. I understand that they are trying to make money but this goes to the extreme. We upgraded to a King bed in our room and a privileged upgrade that is not so privileged as we found out by the people that we traveled with that got King beds and the same things we did without paying more. My wife and i sat through a timeshare meeting that was supposed to take 60 Minutes. 90 Minutes later I got up and left and demanded what I was promised. Waited 15 more minutes to get what was coupons for services that were only partial coupons for over inflated priced items. for example we went to the Japanese grill and i had a coupon that said $14.95 lobster dinner. I ordered it and asked if the charge was going to be $14.00. I was told yes. after we ate it They brought me a bill to my room for $66.00 and explained that the cost was $80.00 with $14.00 off. The next day I was offered a lobster dinner in another restaurant for $35.00. At check out I expressed my disappointment for the way this was handled to the manager and he said this is the way it is. After check out our shuttle was late. I asked the front desk if they could call them. They wanted to charge me $20.00 and $1.00 a minute to call them. Food was the same every time. They could get more creative on their food experience. More>

10 friends & family members that will re-visit in the future. This resort was beautiful

This resort was beautiful & accommodating in almost every way. Yes, the beach was a bit rocky, but, it also provided for an amazing place to snorkel in safety. I'd recommend that management research clearing some points of entry into the ocean, as that is where most of the rocks are. Once you enter the water & you go in about 10 feet, there is plenty of sand to be had. A little further out is an amazing reef, full of beautiful fish & well protected by a man-made sea wall. Well done, Catalonia, & thank you, Riviera Maya Resort & Staff! More>
