Molokai is a truly unique location among the Hawaiian Islands, where time left it relatively unchanged, preserving the heart of its Hawaiian landscape and lifestyle. It is a rural Hawaii, where there are no traffic lights or shopping malls, and aloha is spontaneous and natural.

On the island's south shore, amid sheer cliffs and quaint ocean villages, the oceanfront Castle Molokai Shores is located on four acres of beautiful tropical landscaping. An expansive lawn leads to the beach and dramatic views of the Islands of Lanai and the Kaloko'eli fishpond. Unwind in spacious one- or two-bedroom ocean-view and oceanfront suites, and leave your worries behind.

This Molokai vacation rental offers total seclusion for you to completely relax. Play on your own private beach perfect for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, or enjoying Molokai's gentle sea breezes. Take a dip in the ocean or the large oceanfront pool. Spend a lazy afternoon barbecuing and having a picnic in the grassy courtyard. And if you must, WiFi is available and complimentary in the public areas so you can still keep in touch with the rest of the world.

As much as Molokai's rustic charm permeates your surroundings, you are located at the only condominium in the largest town on the island, Kaunakaki. It's just big enough to find a quick bite to eat, or go shopping for groceries and necessities. You can make the most of the fully equipped kitchen to prepare your favorite foods, or take a break and try the various local delights.

Castle Molokai Shores removes you from the bustle of everyday life, but opens up the possibility of new experiences among nature. Hike through breathtaking Halawa Valley or take a mule ride to Kalaupapa National Historical Park. Learn about the amazing and selfless life of Father Damien. Walk along a pristine, sandy beach or charter a boat to see the world's tallest sea cliffs along the North Shore. Whether you do all this or nothing at all, you'll leave feeling refreshed and longing to return to Molokai.

Very nice

Grounds are Beautiful. Staff very nice and accommodating. First condo we stayed in needed some maintenance: - sliding screen door hard to slide and had screen separating from the frame at the lower end below the handle. - the pretty Japanese prints on the wall had a puncture in the 3rd panel from the front door. - drapes hard to slide. - lanai screen hard to work up and down. - table top and dresser top scratched and unsightly. - TV screen so small we never turned it on. - plethora of roosters crowing way too early - upstairs toilet flush and refill very noisy. Other than that, we enjoyed being here. Good location on ground floor, pool view, ocean in the distance. Very nice neighbors. Air B n B would have done better.

Just Awful

No air conditioning, no service, very dirty, roaches, suprise fees, no cell service, no alternatives and absolutely no aloha. My family felt uncomfortable and questioned if it was safe to stay here. The room was so hot it was completely unbearable between 10-6. Molokai itself is very beautiful on the far east end, not bad on the far west end, but in the middle, where this hotel is its really run down and forgotten. There are a couple of good restaurants. Everything is over priced. If you are coming to molokai be prepared to spend a lot of money for a poor experience.

We had a large group in seven units. It started as six units but we complained about 305 so they gave us two 1-bedroom units. You are lucky if you get a recently remodeled unit, otherwise watch out. Most are dirty and rundown. They could at least give them a thorough scrub. The on-site office manages the well manicured grounds and pool. They can't help with the units. That office is on an off-street in Kaunakakai, with very limited hours. We asked them twice to fix our dishwasher and the sliding screen doors. They never showed. They did send out a maintenance man to spray the wasp nests. Our place was full of non-biting bugs. Wi-fi is spotty and you may be using a router in another unit.

Be Careful

I agree with the other reviewers who rated it poor or terrible. The grounds are beautifully maintained but since the individual units are owned by absentee owners, the quality varies greatly. I stayed with a group that rented 7 units. Most were lacking good kitchen utensils. Some screen doors did not work. Some were missing ice cube trays. The one that had a dishwasher was broken.

Be careful

My daughters and I stayed in unit 305 which was nothing like any of the units depicted on their website. It was dirty with many broken appliances. The taps in the shower and vanity sink didn't work properly, there were dead insects embedded in the carpet, lights weren't working and the fan in the main bedroom was faulty. The one star that I gave was for management who refunded our money when I contacted them. It is in a very pretty spot and the grounds were meticulous. We walked out after one night and booked into hotel Molokai. Because you can't guarantee if you will be given a renovated unit, I can't recommend staying here until management takes the terrible units off their books. Be aware too that if you book a loft apartment, it is up three flights of stairs and the car park is quite far away.
