Molokai is a truly unique location among the Hawaiian Islands, where time left it relatively unchanged, preserving the heart of its Hawaiian landscape and lifestyle. It is a rural Hawaii, where there are no traffic lights or shopping malls, and aloha is spontaneous and natural.

On the island's south shore, amid sheer cliffs and quaint ocean villages, the oceanfront Castle Molokai Shores is located on four acres of beautiful tropical landscaping. An expansive lawn leads to the beach and dramatic views of the Islands of Lanai and the Kaloko'eli fishpond. Unwind in spacious 1-bedroom ocean-view and oceanfront suites, and leave your worries behind.

This Molokai vacation rental offers total seclusion for you to completely relax. Play on your own private beach perfect for swimming, snorkeling, kayaking, or enjoying Molokai's gentle sea breezes. Take a dip in the ocean or the large oceanfront pool. Spend a lazy afternoon barbecuing and having a picnic in the grassy courtyard. And if you must, WiFi is available and complimentary in the public areas so you can still keep in touch with the rest of the world.

As much as Molokai's rustic charm permeates your surroundings, you are located at the only condominium in the largest town on the island, Kaunakaki. It's just big enough to find a quick bite to eat, or go shopping for groceries and necessities. You can make the most of the fully equipped kitchen to prepare your favorite foods, or take a break and try the various local delights.

Castle Molokai Shores removes you from the bustle of everyday life, but opens up the possibility of new experiences among nature. Hike through breathtaking Halawa Valley or take a mule ride to Kalaupapa National Historical Park. Learn about the amazing and selfless life of Father Damien. Walk along a pristine, sandy beach or charter a boat to see the world's tallest sea cliffs along the North Shore. Whether you do all this or nothing at all, you'll leave feeling refreshed and longing to return to Molokai.

Molokai's Great! Castle Is Not!
Wed Mar 06 09:41:50 EST 2019
The grounds and view from the third floor are fine. That's where it ends. Luckily we don't spend a lot of time in the units because we are out and about enjoying Molokai, which is uniquely beautiful. Castle Molokai Shores is not. The main fan did not work, which we mentioned repeatedly to the office and maintenance, but they didn't even try to fix it - and note there are no air conditioners. The lanai slider lock didn't work, so when we first got there on a hot day after hauling all our luggage up three stories (since there were no elevators), with two elderly parents, we couldn't get any air into the unit. After calling and waiting, the maintenance man (Paul) got there, he had to jimmy the slider lock open with a screwdriver. The office said they'd repair it - over and over again - but again, never did. Which led to us not closing it (and therefore susceptible to robbery) when we were there or gone. We accidentally closed it on the last night with all three of us on the lanai and had to call several numbers before finally Paul came late that night to rescue us off the lanai on a cool windy evening. The office didn't call until the next day when we were already gone. About half the light bulbs we're out. There were no plastic cups to drink from and only three very small glass cups. The small coffee maker was right out of a motel. They don't supply but the bare minimum of old silverware and/or lack just about anything else we might have needed. There's no beach towels, chairs, ice chest or umbrella. Oddly, we were told by the office staff that these items didn't exist on the island, however we were able to find and rent them. The couch was old and worn out. The TV - it was an old small video monitor made into a TV and offered visuals right out of the 1960's. Parking is first come, first served. There was someone's old underwear in one of the drawers and I could go on and on, but really the best advice is don't rent a unit at Molokai Shores. Again, we loved Molokai and will be coming back, but would never be at Castle Molokai Shores again, unless major changes occurred.

Unit A106, very nice

The unit we had (A106) was very clean and well equipped, but privately owned and managed (not Castle). Molokai shores is possibly the best option for condo rental in the area due to location and upkeep. The patio looked out on the lawn and beach. This is a very quiet place, mostly seniors, and a quiet beach due to the offshore reef, the depth is less than your knee, good for wading or children, not swimming, but does work for paddling if you watch out for high spots. Sunsets can be nice from the beach. A big plus is that it is only about 1-2 miles form town, the major place for groceries and food on whole island (and it is not much!). Condos differ by owner, this particular one had bedroom (king), bath, and nice living area with fully equipped kitchen and tasteful décor, pictures and even books. There is a patio (lanai) for eating out or just sitting, but faces more or less south, so quite sunny. There is cable TV, but not much to watch—which is more or less a comment on our society, I assume. Condo has a pool and washing facilities (takes many quarters, manager office has them). We thought it was a great week stay, but there is one caveat, this condo is private, so the management has no information about it or access to it. It is accessed by a lockbox, on wall next to door, so make very sure you have the lockbox number before getting there. There may be no one to talk with about it once you are here. The emergency numbers posted on the office are of no use for this unit. A person, Margaret, lives close by, but may not be available when you arrive unless you make specific arrangements.

Molokai itself is laid back and you won't find a new lodging choice I don't think. We needed 2 units and I felt they could have tried to have them closer together but maybe they were full..The beach was great. Parking is tight. Location is good. Just don't expect updates and you'll be fine

The condos differ depending upon the ownership, however we enjoyed our condo. Appears all the condos have oceans views. Ours probably had older amenities, yet such a great price. We did not spend that much time in our room since we were exploring the island. True authentic Hawaiian ohana spirit, and you need to let go of the structured time and friendly people. Actually the condo owner ended up driving us to the airport. People go out of their way to accommodate your needs.

Reservations left me a message on a Saturday for a Monday booking. I spent the weekend trying to get in touch with them. Closest to a human I got was someone who said they just shut off their computer and would call me the next day. Yeah right. So basically they feel like a voicemail with no explanation is satisfactory to tell you they overbooked and when you arrive you will be screwed.
