The hotel staff could have cared less that it was my Birthday. They were not friendly, did not try to give me a room with ocean view. Wanted to charge me to call Apple instead of just making call for me. Beach was horrible-kids everywhere and Mexican people constantly bugging you to buy their stuff. Couldn't relax.

Great location in the centre of town I would highly recommend this hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, The hotel is an old traditional Mexican courtyard style hotel, with the rooms facing an open courtyard, with nice architectural details. Very clean. The Hotel guests are friendly too and some have been coming back to thIs hotel for years. This is my 7th stay at this hotel. Perfect location to get the beach, Malecon, restaurant/cafes and all the local sites. No children adults only Hotel. The pool on the roof is quiet and secluded and great views from the rooftop.

We have stayed in Condos, at hotels at the Marina and this property was very charming. It is decorated in Mexican tiles and we had a room with a small kitchenette. We did use the refrigerator and if you need ice the front desk will bring it to you. We were on the third floor which is just quick walk up the stairs to the rooftop pool. The bathroom was adequate and very clean. We did not encounter any musty smell at all. A great location to restaurants, night life and easy walk to the Malecon and the River.

Charming hotel, except.........

I love the location and the look of this hotel. However, except for the 3 balcony rooms, they rooms are kind of dark and claustrophobic. Also, difficult to communicate with management, as they do not respond to email.

Lovely small hotel, with terrific shared amenities

Really charming hotel with a beautiful rooftop lounge and pool and access to amenities and beach across the Sister hotel across the street. The hotel is an old traditional Mexican courtyard style hotel, with the rooms facing an open courtyard, with nice architectural details. We enjoyed our room, it was small but spotlessly clean, and the shower was new in our room. The bed was firm, but comfortable. We did notice a musty smell when we returned to the room, but it didn't seem to linger in the room that we had. The hotel has a very calm and quiet vibe, which we really enjoyed. A big thank you to Samantha at the front desk for her friendly and kind presence and for making us feel welcome. And also to Boni the butler for his welcoming presence. We had a really lovely stay and would love to come back again next year. We love the location!

Basic but worked for our needs

I'll start by saying that we booked this hotel just three weeks prior and during high season so Iwas not expecting 4 or 5 stars. With that said, check-in was easy, bell hop led us to our room which was not ready so we had to go back to the front desk to get another room assignment. Second room was much smaller, faced the inner courtyard area. It also did not have a balcony like the first room did. It had one window which faced the inner courtyard area and another window with obscured glass to let in natural sunlight. Couldn't leave the courtyard window open for security reasons. I understand the location and "ocean smells" that occur but the room was quite musty smelling...beyond what I have ever experienced in an near-ocean or ocean front hotel. A room with a balcony and window to the exterior would allow you to air the room out a bit. The bathroom was fine, shower a bit small but it worked for our needs. Decent closet with plenty of hangers, a shelf, and a safe. The room also had a small 3-drawer dresser but every drawer slide was broken so it took a little work to open and close them. Overall, the location is the greatest value of this hotel. The lobby, courtyard and rooms are finished with typical spanish decor. The bed was quite comfortable and rooftop area and pool are very inviting and offer decent views of downtown and the farmers market area. There are better places and value for the cost.
