Wonderful 2 night stay

We came to casa de campo for 3 days 2 nights and had a very pleasant stay and brought our 10 year old daughter with us. Very hospitable staff. Stayed in Elite patio room in 300 section. Rooms are comfortable and were clean. In comparison to some other 5 star resorts we've stayed at in other destinations, it fell a little short for what you'd expect. Housekeeping was very good and came twice a day. Everything is far apart so it's great that you get a golf cart to get around. The grounds are very clean and well maintained. We ate at la Cana, la casita and playa minitas at beach club. All were very good. The food was of great quality, fresh and tasted well. Even the bar off by the lobby had great drinks and an awesome shrimp salad. You will not be disappointed with the food. The fitness center is nice and well equipped. Pool areas are nice also. It would have been better if they had at least one heated pool but none are. You can have a guided tour from concierge to visit Altos de Chavon, this was a nice place to see. Has museum, shops and restaurants. The marina area is nice also.

Disappointed - Think twice!

Crazy as it sounds the pools are too cold to swim in. This leaves the tiny beach crowded but nice sea temperature that is if it is not a windy day. 27% tax on EVERYTHING and even charges you dont understand add up quickly. Watch your bill. Absolutely 0 organization or efficiency anywhere ever and I speak Spanish. The only way to kind of-sort of get what you want is by tipping. We were on the all inclusive plan so tipping to get basics like a towel chair and water kind of defeated the principle. I quickly adapted to tipping anyhow. So yes the staff is very nice but they're only looking for tips. Not to mentiontve ATM machine only distributes $1,000 DR bills the approx equivalent of $20. No where no one will break big bills. Ideally the golf carts should be electric although I believe the private La Romana county club ones are. The coffee everywhere (room, restaurants, bars) is Nespresso capsules only at breakfast upon request can you get Domican Republic coffee. It's just a detail but makes you wonder... The overall layout of the resort is neat fun and natural but you constantly feel like you're getting ripped off...unless of course you tip...at least that way you actually get something for your money!

One of the best sites I have visited to date. 3rd site out of the Romana side of the island but definitely worth the try. I would say this particular location offers many options for all types of families. The Staff was amazing and went out of their way to accommodate anything that was asked for A+ for effort! The location only holds if not the best golf course in the island with such beautiful views a definite must try. The local town center (La Marina) has markets, restaurants, movie theater and more. You literally have the option to leave the resort but trust me when I tell you the world inside takes care of all! The local beach is amazing quiet, beautiful views, beautiful sands, great service on the beach and off the beach another reason why leaving does not have to be an option. Accommodations: the hotel provides a golf cart to get around anywhere inside of the resort, it is a big resort but one day of riding with the carts, you will get the hang of the site! Food: never disappointed! From fresh fruits to fresh juices to fresh foods, there is nothing that will not satisfy the pallet. 5 out 5 on service, food options & taste! Hope this helps! Enjoy the trip!

Loved Casa!

We visited Casa de Campos in July and while we were there we started discussing when we could go back because we were loving it so much. This is not what you typically see when it comes to all inclusive resorts. It was so much better than we expected because we had heard stories from other people staying at all-inclusive resorts where the drinks were weak, the food was mediocre and the staff were not helpful. This could not be more different. The hotel staff were beyond helpful, friendly and kind. They made sure we had everything we needed for our stay and went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable. One night I was not feeling well and I called the front desk to see if they had any medication and they actually sent someone down the street purchase what I needed. They delivered it to our door! The restaurants were all excellent with fabulous views and ambience. There was live music at several of the restaurants. They have all different kinds of cuisine. It was great to be able to have something different each night. They give you a golf cart upon arrival with GPS to navigate your way to the restaurants, golf courses, equestrian center, etc. this was very helpful because everything is spread out. You feel like you are in the most beautiful town and not a resort because of how how much land Casa de Campos is on. This made us feel safe. Although it took us about 10 minutes in a golf cart to get to the beach… The views of the golf courses and the Spanish moss and the beautiful villas were scenic and enjoyable. The pool bar is incredible! The drinks are strong and unique. They offer some fun drink options as well as the classics. There’s a drink called the Casa which is amazing. We were completely satisfied with the food. They have the absolute best burgers! They were doing construction on the beach club when we were there so I did not get to see it but the bar on the beach was nice. The sand is white and the water is clear. We really suggest taking the Casa boat shuttle out to Catalina Island. Take The earliest shuttle if you can. We were literally the only ones on the island for the first hour or two besides the staff. It was one of the most relaxing and peaceful places we have been. We decided to snorkel and although it was relaxing and beautiful there was not much to see. We would still recommend doing it for the experience. Horseback riding and skeet shooting are a must! It was just us and the instructors for both because there were not many people there in July. I would highly suggest visiting in June July August! We were treated with respect and always felt like they were happy to have us. As you can see, we highly recommend Casa de Campos and are looking forward to going back. We met a wonderful couple sitting at the bar one night who we have stayed in touch with and have become good friends. We have Casa to thank for that!

Vacationed with my 2 sons 23 and 28 years and my extended family. Lots to do. Food was great although very expensive. Not unusual for the Caribbean. In DR taxes were higher ten expected. the people we incredibly friendly and accommodating. My son had a little Spanish. However, it may be a problem for some. We did a lot that was offered; beach, shooting, golf, etc. Lots of young adults for my sons to socialize. Good nightlife.
