This place was amazing. Two flaws: there was no wifi anywhere at this resort except the lobby, but even the wifi service at the lobby was not that great.

The first room many things didn’t work, they gave us a room the next day that was great! Been going to this resort for around 4 years and was surprised at the first place they gave us. We love the Caribe club princess and will return. The staff is so friendly and helpful, always smiling and kind! Hosea at the beach bar, love him, Yeroni in the buffet so sweet, and Fransica too! Just hope next year we start off with a nice room. Will recommend this place to everyone

In two days I had my room changed three times. Air conditioning not working and as per repair guy they were aware of situation and instead of fixing kept putting people in these rooms. New and last room (refused to change again) had a leak in bachroom and in entrance hall, we kept putting tissues on floor so we would not fall. This was supposed to be an upgrade therefore it had an iron, toilet paper holder and tissues. These items were not available in previous two rooms. Food was scarce and poor, I've been to DR approximately 10 times and this has been the worse hotel accommodations we have ever encountered. Also on the second day right before we showered we lost water, when called we were told they were working on it that it was the whole complex. On the third day we lost power as we were getting ready to go for dinner. Thank goodness for my husband's flashlight. Drinks were of poor quality and meats were tough. Only had bacon one day at breakfast and the fruit selection was limited to pineapple and watermelon. They also have a section of the hotel hat supposedly is ecologically protected. Water was in a swamp looking area where the stagnant water smelled of sewer, probably the reason were eaten alive by mosquitoes. I understand they have to protect this but there has to be some kind of spraying to alleviate mosquito bites from guests. Again never in my previous years I was bitten and definitely not as much. Hopefuly won't develop any diseases from that. We were also locked out of our room and not even the cleaning lady could open the door. Thank God she was there and went into another room to call for someone to come but we had to wait 20 minutes for someone to arrive. This is also the first hotel I have encountered that charges a daily fee for the use of the safety deposit box. It's outrageous!!! There is only one thing good and that is the people that work there, they are very pleasant and eager to help and serve you. If it wasn't for them I don't know how we would have made it through the 8 days.

A terrible hotel. Dirty rooms, slow, no problem solving skills by staff, did not feel like a vacation. Checked out of the “resort” a day early to go to a different resort all together to enjoy the last bit of vacation. Waste of money at caribe club princess. So extremely disappointed.

The food at the buffets were often stale or sitting out for a long period of time. The workers at the evening restaurants weren't the friendliest and not willing to answer any questions.

Room 1: Shower, bathroom and toilet flooded, bathroom ceiling leaked, Room 2: No AC, smelly sewage water dripping from ceiling, broken TV

May 13 2018
Renee Brown was my roommate. We experienced such serious problems in our first room they eventually moved us. Room 1 problems: bathroom ceiling leaked, toilet and shower both flooded. It was slippery, smelly and we couldn't dry anything in the bathroom. We could not use the hairdryer or get ready for dinner in the bathroom. It was a nightmare. We immediately complained and had to call and visit the front desk many times to get them fixed. The maintenance man came twice. His efforts resulted in no change. The manager moved us to another room, 1162. The AC was broken which made it nighmarishly hot. The TV did not work. The icing on the cake was that sewage water was dripping through the bathroom light fixture over the bathroom sink. We immediately reported the problems. I actually wrote a note to the manager. We called. We told the maids in the hallway. We followed up. They changed the light fixture but of course, the smelly water leak continued! The AC never worked. So it was a nightmare trip. Despite daily emails to Kimberly Perry who booked our trip and who was apparently back from vacation a couple of days before we were leaving, Apple Vacations did NOTHING to help. Kimberly Perry basically blew us off. After the trip was over, she sent an email telling me to call a generic phone number. She did not pass along any message or notes. She had a full list of problems with timely updates. Because of this nightmare experience, I want a refund. I will be reviewing Apple Vacations on outside sites. I have a Readership badge on TripAdvisor. We went on the trip with 6 couples. All of our rooms had issues; water pipes breaking, toilets not working, AC not working (too cold & too hot), trouble with keycard entry, trouble with safes, no hot water, lost electricity twice, light switch exploded in room, room flooded from bathroom pipe, had to take thermostat apart to change temp, sliding doors did not work easily. The hotel is very tired & not well maintained. 9 of 12 had stomach issues. The staff was excellent, except the front desk. Check-in was difficult. Some had trouble getting towels from maids.

The restaurant and bar staff were awesome. Our room was old, bed uncomfortable with aged mattresses and the A/C did not function properly the entire stay. We went to the lobby desk 3 times to complain and ask for another room but we were told by Emmanuel (VIP Manager) and his staff that a better room was not available.

At Best “Sunwing” this is a 3 - stars

We had sunshine, beautiful beaches 🏝 and ocean. Food was good, always something to eat. Did the VIP ? No concierge or VIP area, beach towels, old tired rooms. Looked like some reg rooms had been updated. Beautiful lush grounds, bring bug spray. Rm #2225 was our second room. Cleaner, bed didn’t fold in half, shower? no water pressure and if you tried to get warm water it clicked off. Water coming thru the ceiling, tried to tell us it was the air conditioning? Nope burst pipe. Most people we met changed rooms at least once. Due to broken air conditioning, no water or just old, moldy rooms. Sunwing, this was a long flight your service people need to know - no 🎥 movies. We asked more than once. Would have downloaded some.

Amazing grounds, everything you can expect for from the price

I visited this hotel with my family and my girlfriends family back in late July to beginning of August and it was almost everything I expected from the trip. When you arrive you get a wow experience especially if you’ve never been to the Caribbean. The reception is all open space no no walls nothing like you’ll ever see in the UK. From the minute we arrived till the minute we left the staff were nothing but helpful friendly and up for a laugh. The room on first looks is very nice the beds are comfy and it’s always kept clean but as it is a dated hotel you do often from speaking to other guests and seeing other reviews get a few problems with your room, ours was the air conditioning unit was leaking but within 10 minutes of calling reception they sent a team up to sort it out so no complaints there. There are 3 pools our room was based around the activities pool where they put on great shows and fun activities to get involved in as well as water polo etc, it is definitely the lively pool and the swim up bar does get very lively in the afternoon I think it’s a great atmosphere for families too the kids can get involved in the games. But if you’re after pure silence and bliss for just taking it all in and reading a book I’d suggest the beach or either of the other two pools. Leaving tips really gets you far as they get to know you throughout your stay and will have drinks waiting for you in the buffet area as you get your food. DONT book through your holiday rep! Book through the guys on the beach they are much more deserving of the money and also you pay half the price for the exact same trip you’d be going on anyway, we made friends with a man called Mario and he help us out loads we went to siona island and paragliding for a great price. The food was nice unfortunately for my family and it seemed many UK families staying at the time something didn’t agree with our stomachs and I still don’t know what, all the food was well cooked and we never had anything but bottled water I just think maybe our bodies are just not use to the huge change in food and temperatures it’s a different culture. All in all I love my time there and will never forget it, you have to go there with an open mind and understand it’s not a brand new 5* hotel and you’re not paying for that either! They staff will always try there best to accommodate. As a side note the water may not be as clear and white as you expect and you may want to go onto an island day trip for that I’d recommend, the natural pool that you can go to is mesmerising and you’ll never see anything like it.

After reading many differing reviews we decided to give it a try. Well, I would have to say that the resort overall doesn’t live up to its ratings, but it also had some very good points. The beaches were beautiful and the overall atmosphere of the resort was very nice. The pasta bar in the buffet restaurant was always amazing, but the breakfast selection wasn’t always great. Also, the coffee was brutal. The Mexican and Chinese a la carte restaurants were excellent. We did have a leaking shower so always had a river in our bathroom, as well there was water dripping from the ceiling into our sink. Stepped on a cockroach one night which was rather unpleasant. Unless you feel like shelling out an additional $25 per person per night, you will not have access to quality drinks either. The grounds staff and restaurant staff were all very friendly and very willing to help. Overall the resort was ok, but I would not recommend staying there unless you are ok with a 3 star resort.

Amazing place

Before we get in to the review, I have one negative thing to say, and that's on the 3rd day of our stay I went to reception with a question and who ever was on there was not helpful and really rude. But luckily his colleague was there, stepped in pretty quickly and did everything she could to help. Dont let that put you off. Ok so it's a bit of a drive from the airport to the resort but if you spring the extra cash for a private hire taxi then it doesnt seems so bad. The journey in, is daunting. It's not a rich country, what you see doesn't reflect the resort I promise. Once you're at the hotel, some one meets you at the car to take your bags and direct you to reception and check in, which isnt hard to find on your own. Check in is quick and painless, then you have a bellhop take you on a golf cart type vehicle straight to your room. So as soon as you get there, the service is amazing. The resort is big, when I say big I mean huge. The beach, well, it's a Caribbean beach, it's beautiful. Yes the rooms are dated and do need modernizing and updating technologically wise. But the air con, tv, fridge, shower, plug sockets etc all work and the beds are big and comfy. There is a safe I. the room, but you pay extra to use it. We had a room in the second floor right by the pool and beach so we were really central to everything. I dont understand people moaning and complaining about the walk to the lobby, its peaceful and very pleasant. You get to see the local birds, Terrapins and iguanas. It's really not that long of a walk. It's just hot. The pools are busy, I'm not going to lie. But the upside is that they are pretty bug so you are never crowded. The swim up bar is very popular. There was a beach BBQ a couple days over the week that we stayed and the food was sublime. The food in the resort is a buffet style, yes there is always the usual burgers, hot dogs, pizza, pasta every day but each day was a different theme so as well as all that you'd get sushi, or tacos, what ever the chosen themed country was, you'd be getting that food. Walk down to the lobby, there's always live music, dance competitions etc down there on an evening, there is a lady there called Candida, she is hands down the best of the best. Her service with a smile is impeccable, make sure you tip her because she deserves it for the hard work she puts in. The cocktails are premixed and then they add alcohol in to them, but for all in, dont complain. You do have the option to pay extra for top lable drinks. The club is open till late so from the lobby, walk over to the discotheque. You'll have a good time. All in all, we had an amazing week. The staff were fantastic, cleaning was great, pools are wonderful and the beach is simply beautiful. 24hr snack bars. Crepe bar. Take a strong, reef safe sunscreen, lots of changes of outfits, small bills to tip with, and pepto bismol. Everything else is taken care of. Have fun.

This was our first trip to Punta Cana and our first time to a Princess hotel. This hotel was wonderful. The room style, bathroom, the lobby, even the restaurants.. I highly recommend the Rodizo. Amazing staff at Rodeo (Teresa, Jeliony, Leonardo, Patricia, Kelin). At the buffet it was wonderful along with the staff (Estel, Castro C, Jony V, Maria, Yoelin, Israel, Edwin). They have different selections daily. The entertainment team is so great, amazing shows and the energy they have I can't believe it (JIMMY, Carlos, Jonatan, Luis, Leuri). The receptionist was wonderful we had a room issue and she changed it and checked on us daily to make sure we were doing ok (Juana). Towel boy shout out to Cesar for the help. Thank you to everyone at the hotel for making my stay wonderful. I will be sure to return thanks to you guys and will be bringing more friends and family next time. Con amor, Elena y William desde Toronto
