Stayed at the Caribe Princess in Sep 18, shared facilities with the Tropical Princess. Travelled from the UK with TUI. Pros: - Great beachfront setting (the seaweed can't be avoided and it's quickly cleaned up) - Choice of A La Carte restaurants is strong (Brazilian and Chinese the better two) - Hotel set in large grounds means that are quiet and active zones which we liked. - Rooms are large - Most of the staff are friendly and fun (Maria in particular in the Dominican Restaurant runs a tight ship) - View from Sea View rooms is really fantastic - Creperie a nice facility with no additional charge, settings of outdoor bars also pleasant in late evening. - VIP package worth doing to book priority A La Carte restaurants and international drinks Cons: - As all have said, rooms are dated and in need of full refurbishment. This is the key issue here. Very tired, poorly maintained and sometimes poorly serviced (missing towels etc). - Pool towels are in need of replacement - and the guy giving them out needs customer service training, consistently plays on phone, doesn't acknowledge people and is very rude. Meant we didn't want to change our towels! - Uneasy mix of customers, lots of Russians, UK and Canadians. Russians becoming dominant here. Hotel also opens to locals over the weekend ($100 per weekend), they are very loud and again don't mix well with international tourists. Would definitely go back, but manage your expectations. If it's your first time to the Caribbean and you've paid less than £900 per head - you'll be pleased!

To start of with, this was booked through Apple Vacations and I so glad we used them instead of that Express place. By using Apple Vacations, the the countries $10.00 tourists fee was included with the price, and so was the round trip ground transportation; unlike the Vacation Express. When we arrived at the airport, (and after we went through customs and collected our luggage) we were meet by a a Apple Vacation rep who took right to a running air conditioned van and took us right to our resort. The total time from landing to arriving at our resort was around 30-45 minutes. Not sure if this was normal for Apple Vacations, but I’m not complaining. Once we arrived at the resort, we were quickly checked in, the rooms are a little ways from the check in area, but a staff member carried our luggage to a vehicle and drove us to our room. He even carried our luggage up to the third floor, and give us a quick walk-around the room; nothing but praise for the staff, not sure how it could of been any better. When it was time to leave, they came back, carried our luggage down stairs, and drove us back up front. The resort grounds were amazing, pools were nice, clean and very well kept, and there was plenty of chairs. There was also plenty of chairs on the beach as well. When we were there, the beach when we were there was having a major seaweed issues, but I can't pin that on the resort, somethings the resort can control, but the ocean and seaweed isn't one of them, plus they had people out at the beach at sunrise cleaning up the seaweed so people could enjoy their holiday. We walked down the beach one day, and I can tell you other resorts didn't put as much effort in cleaning up the seaweed; one was so bad, the water was brown, and it smelled bad, no one was in the water. Food was very good, the staff was so friendly, even though I don't speak Spanish, they understood what I wanted. We ate at every restaurant on the resort, and all of them were amazing, I didn't care for some of the specialty drinks each restaurant offered, but to each their own, other people enjoyed them. The coffee was nice, it would of been nice if the opened earlier so I could enjoy one of their drinks while trying to wake up in the morning. Our Housekeeper was awesome, she was always quick, friendly, and if you wanted something extra, all you have to do is ask. One night, it stormed beyond belief, and the roof leaked on our bed, We called the front desk and they offered to move us, but we didn't want to move, so they sent a housekeeper to our room to change the sheets and put some buckets out if we wanted them. They said they would repair the roof the next day, and even after more rain, we never seen any more leaks. The night entertainment staff was great, funny, and great dancers. You had to walk a ways to get to the entertainment area, but after a great dinner, the walk was needed, the the staff made it so worth the walk. Here is my few complains, 1, internet/WI-FI, the only WI-IF was lobby and every person at the resort was on it every night, but I guess I didn't go on holiday to surf the web. 2, not all the bartender know how to mix a drink, if you tell how to do it, they'll listen, but some just kept pouring in the rum. 3, the store, heaven forbid you forget something at home, because the stores on the resort was not only high, it was orbiting this earth high (suntan lotion $33.00 for a tiny bottle). If you are wanting to do any excursions, look for Lorenzo on the beach, super nice guy and very affordable, you can even chew him down on his prices. Bottom line is, we loved everything about this place and can not wait to return.

We were apprehensive about this hotel having read some of the reviews but i needn't have worried. What an amazing time we had and i cannot thank the staff enough, who were all very friendly, kind ,cheerful and helpful. On our arrival at the hotel, we were seated and given a welcome drink, explained the layout of resort, main restaurant opening times, given a map of the resort.and our key and beach towel cards were handed to us. We paid for a safe in our room which was 20 dollars per week. Good to lock valuables etc away. We had left our luggage at the entrance and once we knew our room number, we informed the bell boy. We then got on the hotel transport and taken to our room and within minutes of our arrival, our luggage was delivered to our room too. We were on the 3rd floor, room 1373, which overlooked the main pool. Lovely room with a wooden vaulted ceiling, huge bed, soft pillows, air conditioning and ceiling fan provided an excellent and constant cooling system. The fridge was replenished by the superb maid service who cleaned , tidied and refreshed the towels everyday. We went to 5 of the 7 speciality restaurants and the main buffet. There was no problem making a booking for the specialities and could be used more than once. However, there was a charge for 2 of the restaurants. Menu choice in all speciality restaurants was large and food very good and nicely presented. At breakfast in the main buffet there was an extensive selection of foods. An egg station provided freshly fried eggs and omllettes of your choice. We didn't use the main buffet at lunch time and opted to go the the beach bar and have food there. Here it was limited to pizza, hot dogs, burgers, chicken or sometimes fish with a choice of salads, chips, fruit and deserts. . Breaded chicken was delicious !!! There are 3 pools, we choose to go to the stunning beach, were the sand is like walking on powder, so soft. I had concerns about the seaweed but it was not a big issue. It was floating in the sea and if it washed ashore then it was very quickly bagged up by the workers. The waves were quite big but it is The Atlantic Ocean. There are plenty of sunbeds on the beach and around all the pools. Limited palappas umbrellas which some people did put towels on sunbeds under them and did not use, despite signs saying not to reserve beds. We always managed to get one eventually. The resort is large with pretty grounds and wonderful wildlife. All very tame and happy to come and eat from your hand. It is lovely for a morning or evening stroll. Mosquitoes are there, so spray up. If i have any quibble then i would say that the bathroom needs refurbishing and shower unit replacing. We have been to many All Inclusive hotels and for what we paid and what we got for our money, it was absolutely brilliant. Highly recommended!!!!!

Just a heads up, don’t set ur expectations high. We went for a honeymoon for 2 weeks.. WAYYY too long. There was a fire in one of the rooms near us but no fire alarm went off or no evacuation. It was pretty bad. Housekeeping is really bad. They didn’t change my sheets after request, we stayed there for 2 weeks and they still somehow didn’t change it. Even tho there were some makeup residue on my pillow, and I requested for it to be changed. Sometimes they didn’t bother cleaning our bathroom, so we’d have no shower gel or anything. So our rooms weren’t in the cleanest condition. Don’t throw your towels on the floor expecting them to give you new ones. Sometimes they refold it and hung it back up, sometimes they just take it and you’re left with no towels. Staff were really mean & rude. Some were nice but majority were quite rude . Especially when it came to the buffet. One lady started cussing me out because I wanted to sit at a two seated table, since it was just the two of us, and we saw a girl setting up tables right next to this one so I asked if she could also put some cutlery on this table whilst we go get our food. She said it was fine, but then this other girl came up to me and started cussing me out saying there’s tables on the other side of the restaurant , & why we had to bother them to set ours up... wasn’t really nice of her was it.. They just seemed so unhappy to be there, making my trip a little less satisfying. Pros: The outside area of the resort was very well kept and the pools and beach were really nice. Rooms were spacious. AC and a fan in the room ! Either way We still enjoyed ourselves, we didn’t let any of the rudeness from staff bring us down too much, or that the room was mostly not cleaned. This was my experience review, so each to their own. Good luck to those staying hope you enjoy your stay!
