Disappointing but they are trying hard.

Stayed one night in transit to Havana. Arrived at 4:30pm and our room was not ready so we were given drink vouchers and asked to come back to reception in 30-45minutes. Did so and got a room, when we opened the door it was obviously still occupied. Back to reception. The lady was helpful and personally went to check another room which was also not ready. After checking on another room and confirming it was ok we got checked in, plus meal vouchers. It seemed that housekeeping were overworked and not communicating with the front desk as there were other groups also waiting. Definitely not a "Hilton" experience, especially for the rates they charge. More>

This hotel is right in the Nassau Downtown...walking distance to the Straw-Market. Also have a couple of restaurants around the Straw-Market and lots of souvenir stores along with other stores...if you wish to go have some good breakfast the closes thing to this hotel is McDonald's and Dunkin Donuts. Or you can just ask for room service for much more $$$. The beach in this hotel is nice. You get to see a lot of cruise ships. Everything in downtown closes between 5:30pm to 6pm. If you wish more entertainment go to Marina Village in Paradise Island. This is where all the Atlantis Hotel's are. You can either go in taxi or water taxi. If you wish to go to dinner to the restaurants in Marina Village know in advance you need reservation. If you wish to go to the Atlantis water park and have access to their beaches and aquarium try to purchase tickets on line. Hope this review helps. More>

Everyone that I encountered was nice and helpful. An overall great experience. Highly recommend! I have high expectations and they were exceeded at every turn. Seriously, every person I encountered was extremely friendly and helpful. The front desk, bar tender, concierge, wait staff in the restaurant, hostess, bell staff. Best experience I have had at a Hilton in a long time. I travel quite a bit on business and appreciate friendly people. More>

Day Pass Review

My friends and I visited the British Colonial for one day in April, 2016. We did not stay at the hotel, but purchased day passes as we were visiting Nassau on a cruise. We selected this hotel because our time in port was very limited so we didn't want to go too far from the ship. The day pass was $65 and included use of their beach, chairs, umbrellas, pool, towels and snorkel equipment as well as a $40 voucher toward food and beverages. Overall, we enjoyed our visit. This hotel was a short and easy walk from our cruise port. In fact, it is so close to the cruise port, we had a great view of our ship from the hotel's beach. The hotel is pretty and the beach is pretty too, although it's small and the water was pretty cold in April. They had an array of chairs around the pool and on the beach, including some cushy loungers, which was nice. The main pool was not heated and it too was uncomfortably cold. The front desk staff and beach waiter were very friendly. The food was very good, but extremely pricy. $40 will get you a sandwich and 1 cocktail. All in all, I would rate our visit as average. If food was more affordable and the pool was heated, I would bump my rating up to 4 stars. More>

Friendly people and good hospitality. The Property needs major renovation though

The people here in the hotel is really friendly and helpful; especially the concierge who gave good suggestions on restaurant and day tour. It's location is pretty good; the private beach overlooking the cruise port is quite nice. Yet the property itself (interior and room) requires some major renovation. The room interior is a bit old. And the amenities need to be upgraded; it lacks cotton, Q tip, razor, basic amenities in other hotels (and other Hilton). There is a new complex in construction right next to the Hilton with new hotel, entertainment complex, new boat dock. I believe it's more imminent to upgrade the hotel More>
