Great hotel location

The hotel and airline were fine. However, there was no Apple rep waiting for us at the airport, nor at the hotel. The tour group is called Majestic in Nassau, not Apple. Also, they didn't have the two beds we requested and said it was an Apple mixup. Otherwise, it was a great trip.

The hotel was very nice, at check in our reservation could not be found in the system. Within 5 minutes they had the problem resolved and got us in a room. The people were very friendly and always able to answer any questions we had or set up activities that we were looking to do. The food at the breakfast buffet was amazing and although it was pricey we didn't mind spending the money. Would definately go back and will recommend it to anyone we know who is looking for a place to stay.

The hotel is conveniently situated in downtown within convenient walking distance to almost everything. The private beach is very nice. The extra energy charge is excessive and should be incorporated into the room rate and not be a surcharge. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in.

Music blasted from 9 PM till 3AM. Base was so loud the pictures on the wall vibrated. Will not be staying at this Hilton when we return. Large stains on the floor rug. Looks like they have been there for a while. 2 of 3 elevators not working.

Disappointing stay

We just returned from a 3-night stay at this hotel. For such a historic building, it's too bad the owners are putting all their money into the new construction next door. Hotel is old and worn down. Lobby has been updated but guest floors have old, ragged carpet. Ceiling tiles show signs of water damage (mold?). Roof tiles are missing. Only 1 elevator worked for the entire property (including service staff)! And stairs we used only went to the 3rd floor. Continental breakfast is overpriced. Staff is friendly but slow (island time?). They don't appear to have a doorman or concierge. Pool lounges are nice and it's nice to have a beach in town but I won't stay here again or recommend this property until after a revamp.

This is a icon in the Hotels around the world. It should be protected. The new building of the Pointe and the Margaritaville has shown its wear on this beautiful hotel..I have stayed here before a year ago and can see a significant difference.

Lots of value but not perfect!

The British Colonial Hilton in Nassau is an impressive spot with its own private beach...very resort-like. Friendly staff, easy check-in, convenient location. Standard room with king bed not too spacious but adequate. Clean overall but rug beside bed pretty filthy...in need of a good shampooing. Some mold in shower which my wife found off-putting. Very comfortable bed with spotless sheets & spacious bathroom with lots of quality towels. We enjoyed our stay & would stay there again.

Nassau is a very busy and slightly dangerous venue

Being in the town of Nassau is an adventure that requires caution. The town is very crowded, louded, and full of dicey folks. The hotel itself seemed safe, but venturing outside was another story especially after dark.
