Great hotel location

The hotel and airline were fine. However, there was no Apple rep waiting for us at the airport, nor at the hotel. The tour group is called Majestic in Nassau, not Apple. Also, they didn't have the two beds we requested and said it was an Apple mixup. Otherwise, it was a great trip.

The hotel was very nice, at check in our reservation could not be found in the system. Within 5 minutes they had the problem resolved and got us in a room. The people were very friendly and always able to answer any questions we had or set up activities that we were looking to do. The food at the breakfast buffet was amazing and although it was pricey we didn't mind spending the money. Would definately go back and will recommend it to anyone we know who is looking for a place to stay.

The hotel is conveniently situated in downtown within convenient walking distance to almost everything. The private beach is very nice. The extra energy charge is excessive and should be incorporated into the room rate and not be a surcharge. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in.

Tired Looking Hilton

Fairly expensive hotel, ($300/night) but it is somewhat run down. The fitness center especially was in bad shape. The rooms were ok, but there was evidence of a lot of wear and tear in my room. On the plus side, the staff was nice and helpful. For the money, I would seek out some of the other bigger resorts in Nassau.

Nice facilities but terrible service

I really wanted to love this hotel. As you step in, the entrance and lobby are magnificent.. then it’s all downhill from there. The staff cannot care less about your wellbeing - this excludes the cleaning ladies which I found very nice. The reception staff is rude and offending. They also bring cruises passengers in for the day with drinking credits at the bar ... as a hotel guest you cannot enjoy the pool which is overcrowded and dirty. This is really too bad but may be a standard of doing business around here. They won’t get my business again for sure.

Good but mixed experience overall

The hotel is extremely well located if you want to be downtown while having access to a private beach. The building is magnificent and well kept. Staff is very much a mixed bag though - The door staff and cleaning staff were both delightful, as well as the Breakfast chef. Most of the staff at the breakfast were really friendly and helpful but other less - For example, the first day we were seated and waited 15mn with no drinks and were not given any direction as to start our breakfast included. We then decided to start the buffet on our own and we were kind of told off for it, even though we clearly stated we had breakfast included when we asked for a table - Just weird! Other breakfast staff were lovely (Male staff in particular and one lovely lady - sorry I didn’t take note of their names but they made the whole experience much better). The beach is ok - There was a construction site beside us, and cruise ships are constantly blocking our view. Snorkel and Kayak is advertised but within the small confines of the beach, so felt a bit pointless. We also sometimes had batches of guests from cruise ships dropping at the beach which again felt weird. The main let-down was the room - At the side of the building with view on the roof.. And builders working on the roof, so no privacy at all! We had to keep the shutters closed at all time. Food and drinks were overpriced compared to what’s available next door but that’s expected. Air con is another thing: It’s absolutely freezing cold! We had drinks only once at the bar because of it (Also the staff didn’t break a single smile). Diner at Aqua was good but again, overpriced. Evening staff there are all absolutely lovely though. Really a mixed bag - Not sure I would recommend it or not.

Lovely Old Hotel with an Exceptional Staff

The British Colonial Hotel is a lovely old hotel...with many positive attributes. We had booked the Flagler Suite for an eight day stay and upon arrival were told that it was not available. However, within minutes the desk upgraded us to the Prime Minister Suite and sent up a bottle of wine and a cheese plate for our first night. The hotel staff is one of the friendliest we have ever encountered. From housekeeping, to food service to the patio and beach crew...they were exceptional....smiles all around! The suite was clean and linens crispy...with lovely service each day. Yes, the hotel has a few nicks and scratches here and there and the elevators can be slow, but it is a Grand Dame with a lovely garden and beach. There is nothing glitzy about it...thank goodness...just a nice place to slow down and relax for a few days in Paradise!

Great location for this property. Do have a little nice beach, that you can see all Cruise Ship entering into the Marina, walking distance to mayor stores in Main Street, nice classy look. Is a good choice
