Good location for pre cruise

Spent one night after 14 days sailing in exumas in a sailboat. Important to say that because after 12 nights at a small sailboat cabin we were looking for a good size bed, but I am still not sure that my room had a true queen... It was so tiny... Other than that, it is a standard Big Hilton. Great location for pre/post cruise as it is walking distance from the harbor.

Kind of sad when the front desk can't tell you what channels are on the TV. We needed to find them ourselves and write them down on a note pad. Couldn't even tell us the channel for the Preakness. Showers are extremely slippery and without handrail support. not very safe for anyone with a mobility problem. Staff was polite and efficient, breakfast was very good, bar was also efficient.

British Colonial Hilton was a home away from home for me. Upon arrival to my departure; I felt the warmth and friendliness of all of the staff whomever I came in contact with. Whatever my request I was accommodated with a smile and in a timely manner. Beautiful property also. I will definitely return. I actually stayed 2 weeks prior and the service remained the same.

Day Pass

We booked a day pass ahead of time at the British Colonial Hilton through Resort for a Day. The cost was $65.00 per person with a $17.00 per person deposit. Check in at the hotel was easy. Just make sure you have the paperwork and not just have it on your phone or tablet. The people ahead of us had to go print it out. We received our wrist band and paid the balance. They only accept a credit card for the charges. We proceeded out to the towel hut to get our towels and were greeted by Leonardo. He said he would take good care of us all day. Unfortunately, after we found loungers under a palapa he was moved to a different area and we got a new server who was awful. Thankfully, Leonardo came by a few times to check if everything was OK and we told him we were still waiting for our orders. He made sure that our server brought our orders. The beach was small, but very nice. It was nice and clean and best of all it was super quiet. We had a great view of the cruise ships and watched boats come and go all day. The day pass comes with a $40.00 per person food and beverage credit. For this you can get an entree and 2 drinks per person, if you order carefully. The lunch items start at $14.00 for a hot dog and most drinks were in the $12.00 to $14.00 range. The day pass also includes the use of snorkel equipment and kayaks. You can also use the hammocks in the gardens and the pool. The only thing off limits to the Day Pass people are the 5 cabana beds by the pool, which are reserved for hotel guests. Actually, in spite of the less than stellar service, it turned out to be the most relaxing day of our cruise. We will definitely go there again if we are on a cruise that stops at Nassau.

Great for day pass

Our family of 4 used this property for a resort day pass while our cruise ship had a stop in Nassau. The property is within a 10 minute walk from the pier. They offer a small private beach with fresh towels, kayaking, snorkel gear, beach chairs and loungers and a swimming pool. The price we paid for the pass had enough to get us lunch and soft drinks for the day with money left over to carry a couple of sodas back with us. Our family thoroughly enjoyed the day on the beach with swimming and kayaking as well dips in the pool. The food (grilled stuff, burgers and jerk chicken) was great and our server Omar was most attentive. Highly recommended for cruisers to Nassau - just get away from the crowds and enjoy your day at this property and watch the cruise ships move from close quarters.
