Amazing time at the Bougainvillea

Just returned from 10 nights at the Bougainvillea on Maxwell Beach. Fist off the staff and hospitality was excellent. The hotel was very nice and the rooms were very large and included a kitchen in the Jr Suite which was very useful for quick meals or snacks if you don't feel like going out every night. The beach was stunning and access to other parts of the island was very easy-i recommend taking the Zeta's (the small white vans that travel up and down Hwy 7 all day and night. They will take you to any stop on 7 which runs the entire south end of the island for $1 USD. People seem to be afraid to use these but the people are very kind and they are totally safe and actually kind of fun and much faster than the buses and 99% cheaper than a taxi. We had a great time and had no issues at all on our stay-this is a great resort and Barbados is beautiful of course!

Difficult vacation

It just seems that vacations shouldn't be that difficult. The resort seemed to get the details wrong. I hate to complain when I am fortunate enough to be on a vacation but at checkin the sheets were stained, there was no soap in the shower dispenser, greeting service was poor and rude.Ice and fruit always running out at bars. It did get better after we complained and had things resolved but this first 3 days of nonsense set the tone. After that, We lowered our expectations and enjoyed the rest of the vacation. Will not be going back to bougainvillea or barbados. Treatment on the rest of the island was also fair to poor. There were very few people who stood out as pleasant and friendly at first meet(store keepers couldn't seem to be bothered and barely made eye contact. Then USAir lost one piece of our luggage on the ride home. (It has since been returned to us. Unfortunate experience overall. but still; blue water, warm weather and the beach was nice. Next year, maybe we'll just go back to Miami Beach.

We stay at the newly renovated bougainvillea beach resort for 4 nights. My husband and i have never been more satisfied . The first set of staff we meet was the bellman Winston, then we checked in with the events coordinator rhea. The staff is so welcoming and friendly . We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at both Siam restaurant and the Main restaurant. Our favorite shift staff was the dinner chefs Chung, Rachika,Tamisha,Jaleesa and their sous chef Sherron, they did bbq buffet on Mondays and the Caribbean buffet and floor show with Barbadian culture on Thursdays and the rest of the week was their astonish al la carte menu. Lets not forget the service staff Nicole and the bartender at the pool bar Jose. The water sports boys was so much fun to be around everyday. We will sure to be back at the lovely hotel.

We stayed one night by accident at the Bougainvilllea Beach Resort in January and couldn't be more delighted with the mix-up. We had booked the Courtyard Marriott for a place to crash for a few hours after an overnight flight. We arrived and were told it was full - but they put us in the Bougainvillea instead. What a great place! Nice big suite - clean, nicely furnished, well equipped kitchen, room with patio leading out onto the pool area. Breakfast was great, people were friendly, and the beach is gorgeous. We were only sad that we had to leave after a few hours. Next time we will book it for the whole stay!

We stayed at the Bougainvillea Beach Resort for a short stay in January 2018. Overall, we would rate our experience as average for the price paid. We were very disappointed when we checked in and received a room that was very old and tired. The room itself was clean, but the bathroom was pretty worn and as was the furniture. This room was definitely not the one in the marketing photos, which we were excited about when booking. I guess we were unlucky and received one of the bad rooms. We also encountered some inconveniences during the stay, some the hotels fault, others not. The power was out our second day for most of the night which was not the end of the world but became annoying as it grew dark and we couldn’t find a flashlight or any other battery powered light in the room. The other hotels up and down the beach had electricity, presumably because they invested in generators. The water went out the third day for most of the evening. Not sure what the issue with that was but again, a pretty major inconvenience. When it came on we had to run the water to get it clear again. On our last day they had a marketing photo shoot which disrupted our stay on the beach as we were told to keep our beach chairs back so they could perform the various shoots. Overall, we had some pretty bad luck with our stay and expected a little more for the money we spent. No offers or discounts were offered for any of the inconveniences. That said, the staff was very courteous and friendly and the beach and pool areas itself were wonderful. As others have stated the food at the restaurants were good, despite the terribly slow service.....and for some reason there were cats roaming the restaurant?? Overall, based on our experience this was average for the price.

Booked this resort with my brother ,after booking realised just a queen bed , but contacted a lovely lady called Shelly foster , she solved the matter and gave us a room with a bed and sofa bed . As frequent visitor to Barbados , I was very impressed with her. The resort is in maxwell ,Dover beach ( rough tides) The breakfast excellent ,lunch good. The staff are amazing ,the rooms are spotless . The pool in the other side for swimming and one interesting design . Also we discovered local food sold outside hotel , by a van delicious Caribbean food . Great resort to stay 4 star facility with5 star staff 🧚🏽‍♀️🧚🏼‍♂️

This was our 4th visit to this lovely hotel. This time around we had a HUGE suite on the main floor, the patio of which spilled out over to the pool area via a little walkway. This hotel has been recently renovated and everything just sparkles! The room was beautiful and breezy with clean modern fixtures, and had everything we could possibly need, and then some. The entire property is spotless! We ran into a bit of a medical emergency during our stay, and the staff (as well as other guests) were extremely helpful and caring. The manager drove us to the nearby clinic and made sure we were OK. A day or so later we received a phone call from the front desk inquiring about our well being. Keep in mind that this hotel is very family friendly and very popular with families with young children, so the ambiance may not always be of romance and quiet. It is also a non smoking hotel, and smoking is not permitted in the rooms nor on the balconies/patios. However, I smelled smoke regularly when sitting on our patio from nearby rooms. It appears that some people are not able to follow the rules. :( The sea can be quite rough at this hotel; red or yellow flags...never a green. The Sandals resorts next door have put in some breakwaters which help keep the sea somewhat calmer, and that has always been my favorite place to swim. The sea bottom is very smooth and sandy, no rocks or coral to worry about. The beach area itself is quite small, and as such, beach chairs and umbrellas can be tricky to get as the day goes. People do 'hog' chairs here as elsewhere, so if you want a good spot on the beach, get there early. During our stay, there was no shade around the adult pool, and it gets very very hot. We did not eat at the hotel save for breakfast, and as usual, the breakfast buffets are very nice and decent value. A lovely hotel for sure! I am sure we will be back.
