Spent 7 nights at the resort. The staff and accommodations were great! Went at the end of October, which is an off season for the island. Weather was fine and we pretty much had the place to ourselves. The food was unbelievable. I purchased the All-Inclusive package, so there were no surprises with the bill. Definitely recommend this resort. There are only 75 units, but the offerings that the resort had were in line with much larger resorts. I would recommend Bolongo Bay Beach Resort.

Bolongo Bay is a great place to relax and unwind. The staff is friendly and attentive. The included non motorized beach toys, (sup, sailing, scuba gear, etc), are sure to make your stay more enjoyable.

This is our ninth time at Bolongo Bay. We enjoy it because of the laid back atmosphere and how small the resort is. I have to admit, it's not for everyone, but it's perfect for what we like. There are excursions, like deep sea fishing, horseback riding, snorkeling, scuba diving and much more. It won't be long before we go back for our tenth stay!

It looks like they are starting to add activities through out the day, however, when we stayed there weren't that many. The couple they did offer the Booze Snorkel and the Rum Runner Relay were fun.

By far, during my travels, Bolongo Bay has it all...staff that's been there for years, and their bantering between themselves falls over to the guests to make for a warm and friendly atmosphere. For a small property it can certainly compete with the big resorts and come out ahead. I would return here in a heartbeat!

I was a little disappointed by the deteriorating condition of the bathroom in our room. We also had some bugs crawling over the kitchen area and in the bathroom over our cosmetics and toothbrushes. After being there for a week, we realized we were not the only ones with these complaints. Another guest who complained at check out was told that those were the economy rate rooms and we should ask to be upgraded at our next stay.

Hotel is older, but very clean and staff was wonderful, especially 007 at the Lobster Grill Bar. We liked the smaller, more intimate resort. Beach was a little rocky, but they work on it every few days to remove rocks. We had a very good and relaxing vacation. Would definitely go back to Bolongo Bay.

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon and had a blast. The resort was excellent, clean, fun, small and personal, great staff, and awesome food and drinks. We did the all inclusive package and it was worth every penny! Overall, great time and would definitely go back.

We were only in St Thomas as a logistical stop on our way to the BVIs. We needed 1 night on either end of our trip because of the ferry schedule and flight times, and chose Bolongo as our lodging at the recommendation of some folks who had been before. Preface: I was perfectly happy with our stay for the purpose of our stay. Had I been actually vacationing in St. Thomas, I'd have chosen elsewhere. There is positively nothing near Bolongo Bay and taxis are crazy difficult on the island. While I didn't bother to venture out, your only food option (I'm pretty sure) is Iggy's--attached to the resort. This was a great place if you were only staying the short period we stayed but I'd have gotten tired of it if we were there longer than a night. Having said that, Sunny, our server, was probably one of the highlights of my week trip to the area. She was so much fun, a great server, and the best sense of humor I've met in ages. The staff at Bolongo were all very helpful and nice. The rooms were adequate and what I'd expect from a dated beach resort. They were clean but showed age. Our first night we got a beach front room, which was nice because you could walk out both sides of your room, one to the street, one to the beach. This proved somewhat unnecessary since we didn't go to the beach, which is a rather limited beach. Our other night we were upstairs and the porch was a highlight. The view and privacy were wonderful. I'd get the upstairs room if I went again. I chose this hotel primarily because I thought I needed the ferry from Red Hook and this was fairly convenient. The rest of my party stayed in Charlotte and got the other ferry to Tortola. All in all, it was fine for my purposes, but I'd choose a more thriving beach with more food options if I were to stay longer. Definitely go for an afternoon cocktail to meet Sunny though!

Our 7th Wedding Anniversary was ruined here

We paid $3k (air, airport transportation, resort) for all inclusive 7th Special Valentine's Day Wedding Anniversary. We were treated very bad by Tom, the restaurant manager, Lakisha the meanest hostess, on this planet who deliberately did not give me a rose on Valentine's day as she gave every other woman as we are here celebrating our Wedding Valentine's Anniversary. When my husband asked her why she did not give his wife a rose she said, oh we are giving them only to the mothers. When we told the front desk the lie she and Tom told, they were shocked. My husband said she is a mother why did you treat my wife like that? She snarled and walked away. He called the restaurant manager Tom and explained the situation and he was very unkind and came back and SLAMMED another rose on our table and walked away mad. We paid for all inclusive trip here and are very disappointed by this nonsense. The wait staff doesn't smile (the Male waiters were great) unless you tip them over and above what inclusive is and that hostess and restaurant manager had me in tears on my Anniversary because of the way they treated me. I wished I could give zero stars. We certainly don't mind tipping over the included 15% if the service calls for it. One night we missed our reservation because we went on a sunset cruise and that hostess told us we would have to wait 2 hours. Another couple saw what was going on and tried to help. They asked if we could sit at their table. Lakisha sent over a mean black waitress who told us to SERVE OURSELVES. We paid $100 cash for a day trip in the beach shop and was told we didn't need a receipt. We had to ask her to find a piece of paper and write us a receipt. Well good thing we did because once we loaded on the bus the beach shop lady called the bus driver and publicly embarrassed a sweet lady called out her room number and said she didn't pay. They told her she didn't need a receipt either. They miraculously found it, she was so upset. We are both professionals, volunteer in our community and needed rest. We also noticed as an African american couple we were treated differently than the other people. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Thank you for ruining my Wedding Anniversary. We are good people and did not deserve this. 85% of the guests there congratulated us as we were in party mode and acted accordingly.

January 2019 Destination Wedding ... Amazing!

We planned our destination wedding from over 2,000 miles away, having never been to the USVI, and knowing full well the islands were still in disarray after the hurricanes. Even so! We wanted a fun, relaxed wedding and Bolongo Bay was the obvious choice with their all inclusive option, completely customizable wedding planning, and good price point for our group of 50. We can confidently say we chose wisely and have no regrets about our decision! The customer service was absolutely phenomenal, I can’t say it enough. Lorena and Ozzy specifically were fabulous. The wedding and the reception were perfect! The bartender at the wedding was fantastic, as was the DJ. The snorkel rum hunt with the entire group the following day was SO fun! Our entire objective was to have a FUN wedding that everyone will reminisce about for years to come & Bolongo helped us achieve this! As a Type A planner (and worrier) I read the reviews on Trip Advisor obsessively leading up to the trip; checking regularly for the most recent reviews. If you’re going to Bolongo Bay and expecting a 5 star, luxurious, Sandals-style, generic experience ... you will be disappointed. If you want a true island vacation, eat great food & drink fun drinks, chat with the owners and learn their story, enjoy a glorious view, and be surprised with bottles of rum from Ozzy several times during your stay .... this is your place! Sure, the beach is a little rocky and the bartenders at Iggie’s are a little slow.... swim past the 3 feet of rocks & and embrace island time! We can’t wait to come back for anniversaries in the years to come. Thank you, Bolongo Bay and staff, for a wonderful wedding weekend!

Look for a welcome by Leroy Brown; he will help you get the most our of your stay in St Thomas/St John. Kieth, the manager, will get answers to questions that no one else can answer - check out the Banyon tree as you turn into the Bolongo Bay entry. It is a excellent place to stay, especially if you want to stay on the property - beach, beach and water toys, and sailing diving available. Only downside was sand fleas, but Bolongo Bay provided bug spray for guests.

All the staff were very accomodating, helpful, and attentive, from Leroy, who greeted us at the front door with rum punches, to Sylvia, who kept our room tidy, and EVERYONE in between. The hotel is on the waterfront and from what we saw no one had a bad view. We enjoyed our meals in the restaurant and wish it had more tasty dishes to choose from. The resort is small and quiet but NOT boring and if you want varied, reasonably priced activities to choose from during the day and nightly music that is not blaring but fits with the relaxing, chill environment in the evening than this is the place. We had fun with Wes, Z, and Alyssa aboard Heavenly Days for snorkeling and the sunset cruise; they are competent and knowledgeable. Took the day trip to St. John and Charles, our guide, shared all the islands' history, different plants and his personal knowledge with us.
