Nice getaway

We were only here 3nights, and did not get to experience all the resort had to offer. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and shoeer was great. Pools were clean and huge. Always found a place to sit. Food was AWESOME, far better than other resorts weve been to. Staff at front desk not friendly or helpful, seemed like we we a bother to them. Our conceirge Uzium was great to speak with and incredibly helpful. Resort was quiet without large loud groups. Felt comfortable walki g around the very large resort. Would definately reauest bei g in building 2 again, it waa close to pool, beach and food. Enjoyed the Seafood resteraunt very much. Shows were entertainig abd high energy. Only complaint was the lack of Corona beer, which was very much a disappointment.

While wadding I stepped on a Scorpion Fish with a venomous spine and went down in the water in severe pain. I immediately had a life guards and a paramedic working with me and a hotel interpreter was helping. They than took me up to the hotel doctor, which surprised us that they had a doctor on staff. After I returned to my room was checked on several times by the staff. I would feel completely safe returning to Blue Bay.

The beach is full of seaweed, unable to swim, difficult to walk on beach as well. However, I must say the staff did rake every morning.

The food was ok, breakfast was definitely the best meal of the day. Careful in the pool as the tiles are chipping and we ended up with a piece in my foot. The shows were a little outdated. Bartenders were great and the waitstaff was the best! Once you get roped into attending the meeting to become a Circle One, they will use high pressure sales tactics, waste your time and never want to give you the voucher they promised.. don't get suckered into going to one of the meetings.

My friend and I went to Blue Bay for a 5 night all inclusive stay; we really enjoyed the experience. Our room was upgraded to one with the pool on the room deck because our first one had the ceiling fall through in the bathroom. Not the greatest thing that could have happened but the hotel staff were very apologetic and accommodating. The restaurants were excellent (in particular the Italian one) and we overall very much enjoyed our experience. The grounds of the hotel are rather big, but they do offer a trolley to get you from the lobby to your resort building, so keep that in mind should it be a factor.

Very Good Value

The trip was an excellent value for the quality of the hotel, service, and amenities. The beach was less than desirable because of erosion but no fault of the hotel. Many chairs available for guests which was a plus--some hotels are stingy for lounging seats. Although I know it is difficult to co-ordinate transfers back to the airport, having to leave at 6 AM for a flight four and a half hours early was a little much for me. We would return to this hotel in the future.

Blue Bay leaves a lot to be desired

Staff was generally friendly, however they're not all that way that's certain. Our room was on the 4th floor and the elevator button for the 4th floor was broken, therefore had to carry luggage up and walk up a floor each time. Our sliding door handle was broken and didn't lock, no one ever fixed it. The servers were very friendly, as were bartenders, drinks were good. The food, not good at all, couldn't wait to get to the airport to have a decent meal. It was an ok time because I was with my daughter, but I certainly wouldn't make a return trip to this resort or refer anyone to stay there.

Immediately upon arrival to the hotel, we were stopped by "employees" of the hotel who claimed they only wanted to explain the details of the property to us. It turns out they were selling ownership opportunities for the hotel (aka timeshares), just as I had suspected! This was extremely frustrating and annoying. They lie to people about the real intent of why they are approaching you in the first place.

I had a great time. The issue we had was with Apple not the hotel. The AMSTAR rep was to aggressive. They actually said, why come to Mexico if your not going to do excursions. You have to go. they would not give us our time to depart until 24 hours before we left. We had to go back on SAT because they told us we had to and had to listen to the lecture all over again and berated for just chilling at the hotel and enjoying ourselves. I may not book with Apple again because of this.

Great resort with excellent customer care

My wife and I had a fabulous time at this all-inclusive resort. Dining at the a la carte restaurants is included and the food is excellent. However it is the service that makes this trip especially enjoyable. We had the privilege of having Nune as our building concierge. She was very attentive and helpful in taking care of small issues we encountered such as a faulty AC unit. Even though it was late in the day she arranged for repairs to be made instead of having us pack and move to another unit. We hope when we return we will meet Nune again.

We really enjoyed our stay at the BBGE, it was our first time leaving Canada and it exceeded our expectations. All of the staff go above and beyond to make you happy. Our Concierge Samantha was so nice and helpful. Our room was nice and bright, we were in building 7 close to the smaller pool, it was only a 10 minute walk to the beach or you could wait for the trolly, but you are near most of the restaurants and the buffet. We spent a day or two at the beach which does have seaweed because it is the Ocean, but we did still swim in the water even with the seaweed and it was so warm and amazing, but the staff are always working hard to clean up the seaweed on the beach. We also went for a walk to the Lagoon which was absolutely amazing and I would recommend checking it out and going for a swim but make sure you keep your shoes on since while we were there two people cut their foot on glass or a rock in the sand and had to have surgery. The only negative experience we had all week was with the younger group of kids from Spain that were there. They had no respect for anyone around them and they were very loud and obnoxious and at one point at 7am they stripped off and went for a swim in the small pool and then took all of our towels that we put out there at 6:30am to save our loungers which we then lost because of their complete lack of respect for other people. I would definitely visit this resort again, because of the staff and how amazing they all are. Management definitely needs to give all of those workers a big pat on the back for how amazing all the staff are, it is them that makes this resort what is from the bellboys to the chefs, servers, maids you are all awesome at what you do!!!

Just spent a relaxing week at Blue Bay and still smiling from the excellent treatment our travel group received from the wonderful staff. Agustin and Daniel were especially remarkable. Every morning they made sure we had our regular mimosa and Bailey's and a great breakfast. They made the place special and I still can't believe how welcoming they made us all feel. The entire facility and grounds are beautiful and the beach was better than expected, with a beautiful sunrise. This is a great resort for all ages as those wishing excitement can go to the Black and White Bar and yet the Swing Bar on the beach is low key.

The resort and staff are lovely here!! They were accommodating when it came to rooms and extra requests. It was my boyfriend’s birthday and they made a cake at my request ($35)...it was beautiful and tasted delicious. The food was amazing. We read before going that the beach wasn’t the best, well it suited us just fine...if you want clear water then take a short walk to the Lagoon. You should bring bug spray because there are a lot of bugs but that is because there is so much foliage. We made snorkel arrangements with a representative on the beach, easier and less confusing though to just take the ferry to Cozumel and go from there. Coco Bongo was incredible. The week went by way too fast!!!! We took a cab a couple of times into 5th Ave and the hotel shuttle once.

We arrived just 2 hours ago for a friends wedding and for our surprise we found: -hair in th bathroom floor -dirty toilet bowl and a leak on the tank As you can imagine we called the reception the minute we saw that and before we left the room. When we return we realized they didnt do anything, we found everything exactly as we left it. Of course we where really upset about the lack of cleaninges on the hotel we called the reception again, but they told us that the solution was to change us to another building, literally on the other side of the hotel, so I asked for an inmediate solution. I talked to the supervisor but she was rude and did not give us any inmediate response to solve the problem rather than changing rooms which was more upseting. Fortunately the house keeping team and maintenance arrived but it was after our fight with the supervisor. So if your planning a trip to Playa del Carmen just dont come to this hotel
