If you are looking for a true eco-tourist destination with great food and great service on an amazing property- this is it! Staff was great and a big shoutout to Edmund our private Concierge who was absolutely the best. You must see the Mayan ruins of Caracol - so untouched and not crowded with Tourists. The roads are rough, mostly dirt roads however; it was all well worth it. To Bernie, the GM, you and your entire team made our trip a marvelous adventure and cannot thank you enough.

Wife and I took our two teenage daughters. Great visit given the range of things to do: hiking, biking, waterfalls, Mayan ruins, and just relaxing. Food was excellent and service is even better. Must see: the vegetable, fruit and herb garden. Incredible feat, given the challenges with the soil there.

beautiful place, amazing people, personal service and flawless lodging

Can't post enough good things to say. Greeted at airport by hotel transportation. Wasn't cheap but didn't want the hassle of renting a car and wanting things to go smoothly bec we were traveling with three kids. Every person there introduced themselves by their first name. Made for a nice personal touch. Our accommodations, two bedroom villa, was immaculate. Resort was beautiful. Excursions were great with options for kids of all ages and people of all abilities. They were a little pricey for an area that was still "developing" its tourism industry. Thought about rating 4.5 stars because the food options were ok. Hotels of this price, usually have slightly more refined food, but everything did taste great, fresh, and there were options for kids and non meat eaters. Wish they'd just go all veggie and embrace the amazing garden. Don't recall being told about the 10% service on all tabs/charges, but I may have missed that when checking in. My wife left her kindle on the plan in Belize city and the hotel staff contacted the airline for us to help us locate it. If you're looking for something unique, remote, peaceful, this place is worth every penny!

entire place beautiful and staff terrific but if you are able, stay in their enchanted cottage

excellent driver picked us up at Belize City Airport and drove us long way to Blancaneaux Lodge. Many roads quite bad but survivable. A welcome punch and on to the Enchanted Cottage, 1/2 mile from main lodge Fully stocked, furnishings perfect, a private infinity pool,a steam shower, a regular shower and a deep soaking tub, a golf cart to drive back and forth, and the best was our so called 'butler' but so much more. Caesar, pronounced there Cesser, was amazing and was our waiter, and cocktail person, our server when bringing a meal to our patio, and he was even there to get my husband off a horse after a 2 1/2 hour ride. We took long daily tours with knowledgeable guides. We toured their organic amazing vegetable garden and hennery. Never had such amazing eggs --the yolks deep orange. I could continue but will not..The entire place is worth a vacation and this Cottage worth two.

Blancaneaux is a quiet resort on the bank on the Privassion River in the "Pine Forest" adjacent to the rainforest. There are several casitas and villas with varied floor plans, ours, Casita 1 was beautifully perched overlooking the river. We had a spacious room with a sitting area, and a porch, including a hammock. The bed was comfortable and bathroom sufficient. One morning we had no hot water, but that was quickly resolved. Delicious coconut bars were left in our room as was complimentary bottled water, (they share the recipe for the coconut bars). The property is spread out, so most of the "rooms" are a bit of a walk from the reception/dining. The property is not level, so expect to be going up and down as you walk back and forth. There are two restaurants and an opportunity to eat at the organic garden. Breakfast and lunch are served only in the main restaurant, a good selection is available and we liked each item we ordered. We were a bit disappointed with the Belizean buffet offered one night at the the pool, but we generally do not prefer food items that survive a warming tray. The staff at Blancaneaux make a special effort to get to know the guests, even though your stay may be brief. They learn the names and always ask how you are enjoying the activities. Marty was especially friendly to us. Ryan the concierge is very helpful, although the evening drive in the nearby park was not available during our stay, this was especially disappointing to us as it was the main attraction to us for visiting the resort. We did enjoy the river "float" and morning bird walks. The hike or bike to Big Rock Falls should not be missed. It is a really special treat to swim in the river there, gorgeous waterfalls, even in the dry season. The pool is nice, we didn't use any spa services. The road into the hotel is very rough. Expect to spend about 45 minutes on an unpaved road with varying conditions. This is the access to many of the activities which discouraged us from doing more, we felt a bit limited. There was not as much of interest to do as we had expected. It is a very nice hotel/resort, but consider closely how much activity you desire and how able you are to move around the property.
