Binniguenda -- our home away from home in a beautiful eco-friendly boutique style hotel

This was our second trip to Huatulco, we love it !! Obviously or we wouldn't have gone back. We stayed at the same hotel Binniguenda Huatulco., because who doesn't want to be spoiled and feel like family when away from home. And after all even West jet employees stay there on layovers. This all-inclusive hotel is a modern small boutique type accommodation with staff so friendly that you are on first name basis staff close to all amenities on Santa Cruz Blvd. and is also one of the few eco-friendly approved destinations in sustainable tourism. Weather is HOT (Feb & March not a day under 34c) also never a cloudy day. We love that on any day you can either choose to do absolutely nothing and stay poolside or go explore the area by foot or taxi or bus. The area is so safe, day and night. In fact , we walked every night after the show at Binni 10pm-ish , ohh yes .. I forgot to mention that the hotel has nightly themed show produced by a group of young locals who love too dance, they also provided poolside and beach club games throughout the day..  . Our nightly walks were to a local café ( Café Huatulco , coincidentally ) to enjoy one of the most delicious iced coffees with real vanilla ice cream while taking in the evening, people watching. One of the highlights this year was meeting a West Jet tour guide, who greeted us on arrival with open arms (literally) was Magdalena with Maxi Tours. She was available every morning in the lobby to answer any questions, arrange tours, greet “Hola” or bid “Adios amigos”. Magna became our Mexican sister she went above and beyond, as I saw other tour group representatives at the hotel just sitting at their desk playing on their phones. Magda never just sat seriously this woman was full of energy and in heels in the heat !! Professional extraordinaire! Over the two weeks we booked two tours with her, a baby sea turtle release at an ecological reserve and an all-day Coast to Clouds, which takes you from the ocean to the top of the Sierra Madres including a coffee plantation tour with lunch. Both were amazing experiences and highly recommended. Actually all the tour guides with Maxi were fabulous Saul & Antony and driver David. I personally want to let West Jet know to keep this woman on your team on the ground in Huatulco , she wants to ensure that travelers get a true Mexican experience and take home the best memories.

Our second visit to the Binniguenda was equally as good as our first visit last year. First off I have to thank the reservation staff for honouring our room request, for my wife and myself it means a lot, thank you. Room, perfect! Food, excellent! Grounds, exceptional! In spite of being very busy with Holy Week the staff did there best to ensure we where well taken care of. The service at the Chachacual bar as well as the lobby bar was always prompt and pleasant. Beach club staff I must say where pretty great, constantly walking around and cleaning, taking and delivering drink orders... And we can’t forget the main restaurant, palapa chahue staff, each and everyone professional on every level. Furthermore the front desk personnel, pleasant and exceptional. If my wife and I would want to see any improvements it would be in upgrading the equipment in the gym. My wife and I resorted to purchasing a weeks membership at the gym in town so that we could get a good workout in every morning. As well we would like to see the animation staff interact a little more with the guests around the pool during the day. Possibly with salsa lessons, pool games..... as well they could occasionally walk around the pool area picking up empty drink cups just as they do at the beach club. Never the less In spite of a couple of flaws, just as we would possibly see at any other resort we still must say that the Binniguenda is still a pretty great resort and we still would highly recommend it and we will definitely be returning. Thank you everyone at the Binniguenda for another memorable stay!

We just returned from a two week stay April 1 -15... I just cant say enough about this wonderful little hotel.. Firstly, the staff.... they are the friendliest, nicest group of people I ever met who work at a resort. They couldn't do enough for us. Always a smile... They knew what you like to drink, whether it be morning, afternoon, or evening...always providing great service. So many great people to mention... Julien, who works the lobby bar, what a true gentleman he is... Then great service and smiles always from Alberto, Saul, Manny, Ruth, Adelid, and I can't forget "always smiling" Sylvia, our little breakfast cook... Always, a smile and a hello for everyone everday... I am sure that I have forgotten to mention a few more names, I apologize. The grounds are beautiful and well taken care of.. Our room was great(207), always well cleaned and early by our maids.. The pool was heaven... The location of the Binni is perfect... you can walk to the beach or take the beach club bus... We walked many times to Crucecita day & night... There are many little restaurants around the hotel that are great. & so good.. On our last day there, they were doing a Mexican breakfast and my husband wanted eggs lol..Sylvia saw his disappointment and she told someone, and the next thing we knew was that Hugo brought him over these cooked eggs just the way he always liked.. that is outstanding service... what can I say... The only recommendation I would suggest to the hotel is to find a better way to keep the food hot ... That needs some definite work.. But, you can always find something to eat. This was our 4th trip to Huatulco, and the 1st to the Binni... and we have always preferred smaller resorts when we have been there. We will be returning again in April 2019 to what we call "this little gem"..

We just returned from a week at this little gem. We are sick of large resorts and this hotel was exactly what we were looking for. You will find yourself in paradise. The grounds and gardens are well taken care of..beautiful flowers and cacti. The hotel is in Santa Cruz so a very short yet hot walk to the beach although they have a shuttle for free provided by the hotel. We went once to the beach club and it was great! Ample shade, free drinks, clean bathrooms and loungers. Lunch was also included and we had great burgers. Restaurants nearby if you wanted to eat out. We spent most days poolside as the pool was nice and clean and never had trouble finding loungers which was a nice treat. We travelled with our 8 yr old so we didn't venture out on any excursions or eat out as we had hoped to do as it was too hot for us..34 Celsius was a typical day! Not complaining..just tuckered us out quick! We did go to la entrega beach one day and that was lively! Glad we did. But also thankful to return to paradise at the hotel. The room is basic but very clean. The food was great. Being a cook I can appreciate the love put into each dish. There was something g for everyone. The best being Mexican food. Salads were fresh and this is the first time in 8 trips to.mexico that we did not get ill. Service in dining area was friendly but not great. We often got our own also need to get your own drinks poolside and beachside. Big deal. If you want to be pampered then go and pay top dollar at dreams or secrets...if you are grateful to be in Mexico and love the food and people then you will love this place e as we did. Special thanks to Alberto at the snack bar and the omelette lady Sylvie..both were terrific at their work. Also the snack bar cooks! Amazing buffalo wings!! The kitchen manager was also very hospitable. We were there duri g Easter week and thus meant that 95% of the guests were families from Mexico. It was great..the place was packed but everyone was having such a great nice to see. Anyone who complain s about this place is the reason why we hate large resorts:) we can't wait to return! Thank you Binniguenda!

Great Hotel & Service. Just returned from 1 week there stayed March 20 to 27th. Traveled with Sunwing. Somewhat worried when we were the only people who got off the bus ! Great little Hotel. Room : AC worked very well. No concerns at all. Room kept clean all week . Water everyday was a nice bonus. Bathroom clean and working well. Lots of hot water everyday. Extra amenities were nice shampoo, soap and lotion. Lots of towels and a face cloth.Beds comfortable,Blackout drapes. Safe in room worked well. Hotel Grounds: Beautiful gardens, small pool. All kept clean and in good shape. Lots of Mexican decor and small touches that made it look so nice. Painted garden accents in the shape of a gecko. Lots of trees for Natural shade as well as sun umbrellas. Ample chairs available. Beach: Shuttle available if wanted. We chose to walk 5 min walk. Nice area but very small for the guests of Binniguenda All Inclusive. Lots of umbrellas for shade. Drinks and some snacks available at the Beach. ( If you want more of a meal than need to go back to resort or buy at a restaurant on beach ) Rumor has it that they will be building a larger beach club. Food: Resort buffet great. Lots to choose from . Lots of Mexican type food ( that is what you go for ) Breakfast omelettes and variety of fruit. Lunch buffet better than Beach Options for food ( beach had tortilla chips and cheese sauce and beans most days ) Pool bar has a grill with usual options of burgers ect. Dinner buffet was great lots to choose from. Unless very picky you will not be hungry, lots of restaurants nearby that you can purchase food from and street vendors. Ala carte were great we went to all 3 French was the favorite although all of them were great food. The wee we went was not very busy so we were able to get in right away. ** Must dress up !! Ladies dress, skirt ect, Men long pants & dress shirt & shoes. Very formal but treated very formally as well. Animation shows: Wow !! very impressed top quality shows. Staff & other guests very friendly. Even the local visitors would smile at you and attempted their English and allowed us to try out our Spanish :) Overall if looking for a quaint Mexican resort with a Mexican feel you cant go wrong. Not a typical All Inclusive Beach Resort. You are in town with lots of area to walk around and see the culture first hand. Very safe and welcoming. We did not do any of the formal excursions but did choose to walk to Playa Entrega & Chaue beach & Cucitrea. There is a very nice tourist walkway to Playa Entrega ( took us close to 2 hours to walk ) gorgeous views and shade along the way. Took a taxi back to Hotel for 70 pesos. We would go back very much enjoyed our stay. ** Dinner does start late 7:30 pm But show in same area starts at 9 pm so this allowed you to enjoy dinner and the show. Tables are all in rounds of 8 at first felt uncomfortable but quickly made new friends and had someone to sit with every day. Lots to talk about every evening.
