Take a step into the natural, eco-friendly environment of Bel Air Collection Resort & Spa Xpu Ha Riviera Maya, a romantic all-inclusive resort located in Riviera Maya, Mexico, about 50 miles southwest of Cancun International Airport.
Nestled atop acres of white sand and lush vegetation, this glistening eco-paradise provides a calm and secluded escape with its terraced villas and floating hammocks. Stucco walls and thatched roofs provide the humble materials for pleasant hut clusters, nudged by a cooling breeze that comes sweeping off the Caribbean Sea.
Tribal décor accents add an artistic flavor to traditional building styles and natural opulence. Comfortable and luxurious, rooms feature a double Jacuzzi, ultra-plush duvet crowned with feather pillows and a mini-bar brimming with beer, soda, and bottled water.
Rehydrate yourself from the effects of the sun at one of the poolside bars. Snaking about the deck like a river, winding its way past feathery tiki huts, the pool maintains a swim-up bar, lawn chairs, and lush palm trees for a most relaxing experience. Pool volleyball and bike riding are at your fingertips, as well as a jogging trail and a host of thrilling, on-site watersports.
Dine at one of three succulent restaurants and enjoy Mexican-Italian fusion cuisine, mouthwatering sushi and delightful Japanese-style delicacies. Follow up this gourmet à la carte experience with a night out on the resort. Go for the hot streak at the casino or join friends and family for a memorable night with karaoke, salsa dance lessons, and live music.

This hotel has a cool zoo thats attached to it and it was awesome. We had to buy a day all inclusive pass to the hotel which cost 100 a person. After we saw the zoo which was amazing we could enjoy the hotel for a day and go back to our hotel. Let me tell you this was the worst experience of our lives. The hotel is ran down all falling a part. It was hit by a huracaine 8 years a go and never fixed. 90% of the hotel is sectioned off and not fixed. The 5% left is hanging on by a thread its falling a part. The pool tiles are missing all over the pool looks horrible. All the ground are chipping and dirty. The pool bar opens at 10:30am the bartender strolled in at 11am like nothing happened. The food was horrendous I was scared to eat it. The food looked old. The lunch buffet had canned vegitables. The only variety was enchilada meat and salad and potatoes. The staff looked bored and was lazy. There were maybe 8 couples at the resort that I saw by the pool and it took forever to bring our drinks. Then a lot of drinks on the menu they told me they dont have because they dont have the alcohol to make it with. They didn't even have a mojito because they didn't have the mint for it. I could not wait till 6pm till our transfer came to take us back to our hotel. The amazing sandos carocal. If I had to stay at bel air for a week my vacation would be ruined and I definitely give the hotel management a piece of my mind. I wanted a refund for 200 dollars we spent to see the zoo which was amazing. I wanted them to give me a 100 dollars back because this place with the zoo is worth prob 50 buck a person with the round trip taxi that's included but not 200 that we paid. Do not recommend at all look at the pictures I uploaded. The pretty pics u see is probably old before the huracaine hit 8 years a go.

We booked last minute. We had mixed feelings about this hotel, but it turned out to be an excellent choice. Food was excellent, the pool was amazing, room was great and the location too. We liked the nature, the zoo, enjoyed long walks on the resort, the kayaks on the lake (included), and snorkeling. We liked that fact that it is a quiet resort (no night shows). However, during the day there were activities in the pool. Maya people are more reserved than Cubans, but they are sweethearts. We loved the fact that each room had a huge balcony with a hammock. There was no beach at this hotel, but at any time we could call a mini bus (free service) that brought us to another public beach near by (5 min. away) where our hotel had reserved space and a bar. We could walk there for hours. We had an amazing stay for a good price ($1200 per person, one week).
Nature at its BEST

I don't normally write reviews but I always read them before trying someplace new. I have been to Cancun and surrounding areas at least 30 times. I have stayed in everything from private homes to 5 star resorts. I have never stayed in anything like this and I LOVED it!!
You are definitely in the jungle. The animals are all rescued and have found a great home. I was able to hand feed all kinds of animals including a kangaroo with a baby joey!! (in Mexico). the high light of my trip was the cenote!! You can snorkel and kayak in this beautiful crystal clear water. The staff is unbelievable. I sat in my Kayak every morning observing the family of manatees, went to bed with lions roaring, had coffee on my beautiful porch observing all the natural wild life and they have a lot!!
The rooms are all exactly the same. They each have a comfy bed or two, a two person hot tub open to two sinks with bathroom/shower of to the side. The only difference is that the upstairs rooms have a thatched roof. If you are not a true lover of nature opt for a room downstairs with a real ceiling. I had a room upstairs and loved it but things did fall from the thatched roof (pieces of the roof) nothing living like stated in other reviews.
All of this being said..... I think this resort deserves a good review. You are not at a 5 star resort and you are not paying the price of one. If you want something eco friendly and a chance to enjoy what the area used to look like before the concrete village this is your place!! Thanks to Robert and Andrea for being amazing tour guides... I will be bringing my family to stay in the next few months.
Would NEVER come back

My family and I (10 persons) stayed in this hotel for five nights and six days. The pictures they provide online are nothing like how the hotel really looks like. The service was good, but the rooms are horrible. Our room was on the second floor and it was a nightmare. Every night before going to bed we would find spiders on our bed. On our last night a huge roach fell on us while laying on bed from the ceiling. Their food was horrible! The food was bland and it would take about an hour to get our food. Our waiter himself even told us that their food wasn't that great. We then asked for his opinion if we should have dinner their; he recommended us to go to La Quinta Avenida instead and that we would find delicious food their. Another disappointment was when the same wrapper was left on the floor from the front of the stairs for three days. Their employees are great! They are attentive and provide great customer service. They have a variety of animals you can look at and the also provide a animal show.
Great service, but needs refurbishment

We were received by the very friendly staff. The hotel is in the middle of a beautiful jungle. But our room was dirty: the bathroom was dirty and there were rodent feces in the sink. I called the front desk and they immediately sent someone who sprayed the whole room with chlorine. I was in the jungle so that's why I didn't panick so much, I guess Thank god. The place is very nice, there are activities like snorkeling and kayaking in a beautiful natural lagoon/cenote. There is no beach in the hotel, only rocks so they take you to their beach club like a kilometer away which is nice. The breakfast and food was surprisingly good. If I had no more budget and no other choice I would stay here again specially for the outdoors activities. But the hotel needs ugent refurbishments in their rooms and some areas like pool. I have mixed feelings about this hotel. So, it's up to you!
