So I have just returned home from a 3 week holiday in Be live collection. Ok firstly this hotel is generally catered for Spanish people can be very difficult to communicate speaking English and we have had continual problems with this barrier throughout the holiday. Cons - Main problem with this holiday was extremely bad service especially at the front desk/ reception. We had a few problems with our room electric lock for door broke frequently (not the key the whole lock) and then they decided to knock a wall down in the room next door continual drilling throughout the day and even continued the work at half 12 at night. When trying to communicate this at reception several times we had disgusting service (told don't understand and then turned there backs on us LITERALLY) the front desk reception staff did not even try to solve the problem or find someone who spoke better English just got completely ignored and this happened a few times with a number of staff. Our cleaner in block five was the most helpful member of staff! Did not speak a word of English but helped communicate the problem and finally get us help each time we were locked out of our room! Fabulous lady that cleaned block5! Next the service in the buffet was not much better plenty of times did not even get offered a drink throughout the meal and then when we went to the bar to try and get ourselves a drink we were refused and told to go to the table. Yesterday we witnessed a man sitting on the table next to us receive horrible service and when he asked a fellow waitress for her name she said she didn't know and asked her friend to take off her name badge. Then the staff were walking around laughing and refusing to tell the man the name. Just an example of bad service in this hotel. Whilst being at this hotel for 3 weeks we met a few people and realised a few strange things, for example if your American or Canadian you get a band with your country's flag which also allows you to eat lunch and breakfast in the Mexican restaurant too (these people were not VIP or upgraded) just aloud to have little luxuries because of the country they are from maybe because of the tips ? No idea? yes STRANGE I know the Americans we met thought so too. Pros After all of the problems we finally found guest services (separate to reception) a fabulous lady with brilliant customer service Theresa sorted out problems and we finally changed rooms! Food is nice Entertainment is good Beach is lovely Overall it is a fabulous resort and if they made a few changes to staff and attitudes and service this resort could defiantly be a 5* I did not realise how service can really effect your lasting view of a whole holiday. Not worth it at all, pay a bit more and go to a better resort. The food was mediocre at best, you cannot get towels if your life depends in it - so be prepared to reuse your original towels all week. Bottled water seems to be very hard to come by as well. The housekeeping staff will use any makeup/perfumes in your room as well. More>

We are still currently here. We have had a great time. Be sure to upgrade to VIP. IT IS WELL WORTH IT. Visit Richard at the vip beach bar. He's the best. Carmelo is great. And Sonia in the Vip lounge is awesome. The cons: buffet is ok at best. Language barrier is definitely a hurdle. Don't flush your toilet paper. Most here are friendly only a few were not. More>

Be Live VIP is the way to go, beachfront rooms are lovely and clean. You get the same beach as Dreams Palm Beach and you will pay 40% or more for Dreams. Best, best service from Jose Tema Nicolas!! I am surprised that another resort does not steal him away. The entire VIP team were consistently customer service oriented. Breakfast service in the Mexican restaurant was very good. Other service around the hotel is from just so-so to not very good. Food is ok - you won't starve. It is a very good value for the location in January. We are returning in January 2017. More>

When we arrived the hotel seemed nice. However they could not find our reservation although we booked them over a month in advance. They finally found them but of course our room wasn't ready, an hour later they gave us a bracelet for us to "enjoy" the food and bars! We walked over to the main restaurant (either way you NEED a reservation for the other restaurants) the food was TERRIBLE! I am picky so don't listen to me on this but my boyfriend who eats anything hated the food. So we went to the bar and they had maybe 4 bottles of liquor, that's not a bar!!! The beer was also warm. On top of that it was dirty, they had plastic cups sitting on the bar about 10 of them with bees all over them. It takes a second for someone to come pick up the cups and throw them out! The bartender didn't want to come to the other side of the bar for us and wanted us to go order by the Bees. No thanks! We finally got our room. Building 17! Such a long long long walk there and the room smells like mildew. The toilet literally has a glass door so whoever else is in the room can see you use the bathroom and the door doesn't go up to the ceiling so if someone goes number 2 it's going to leave your whole room smelling like that. Lol They do have a great speaker system in their rooms with Bluetooth. (I think that's the only thing we liked) but the tv has a bad picture that's all grainy. By grainy I don't mean no HD I mean like in the old TVs when the black and white screen would come on and mix with the regular picture a little! I hope that makes sense! Now let me tell you about the shower! As soon my boyfriend came out of the shower he realized our room was flooded by water from it. The water didn't drain properly in the shower and there was no squeegee thing on the bottom of the door to stop water from coming out and literally the whole room is flooded. My phone charger which was on the floor got soaked. My phone ruined. My shoes wet as well. Our suitcases wet. EVERYTHING! We call to have someone come clean it since the two towels they gave us weren't enough and it took 20 minutes for someone to come fix the shower. But nobody to come clean it. The guy who fixed the shower was very very very nice. 15 more minutes; someone comes to clean the room. The lady was nice as well. Except she only cleaned by the bathroom and not by my side of the bed or by the nightstand so when i went to get up I slipped.. We go to bed and the first thing I said to my boyfriend the next morning was let's find another hotel. But of course the wifi we paid 25$ for doesn't work. So I decide to call another hotel and they charge me $1.00 a minute for a local call! That's crazy!!! But worth it to get out of here. So yes I had to pay for a second hotel! When I went to check out (5 days early) the lady did not even ask me why I was leaving early. She honestly could care less. I even pointed it out and said "can I please get a receipt or something stating I'm leaving a day after I got here" and she said "well when were you supposed to leave" while most of the staff is nice some of them are rude and don't smile. The place is overall dirty. The pools need to be refinished. They should get a little train system for far away rooms like other resorts have. I wouldn't stay here for free. The only good thing that came out of this was the amazing hotel we stayed at for the rest of our trip! Now hopefully I can get my money back for this first "resort". Do not stay here, save yourself the trouble!! More>
