All Inclusive

A spectacular resort, set on a dazzling beach, the all-inclusive Barceló Punta Cana boasts 798 rooms with red Spanish-styled rooftops. The lobby, in warm tangerine hues, invites you to linger, with comfy seating under a chandelier, which amusingly also happens to house a birds nest! Sprawled parallel with the beach, this spacious hotel curves around gardens and features two large pools that are perfect for a refreshing dip.

Boredom is not an option at this adventurer's paradise! Fly through the air on a trapeze at the circus school, or test your strength and endurance on the rock-climbing wall. Then, gaze down at the spectacular ocean-view from the top. Children's programs are also available and include a playground, game room, pool, and more.

Entice your palate at one of seven specialty restaurants and after supper, don't forget to try your luck at the casino or take in one of the dynamic live shows in the forum-style theater. Before topping the evening off at the nightclub, stop by one of the late night bars for a nightcap. Finally, head off to your luxurious room to rest up for the next day's adventure.

Once youve had a good night's rest, why not start your day off in the gorgeous, fully-equipped spa? Enjoy relaxing in the hot tub, pampering yourself in the beauty salon, or melting away stress in one of many massage rooms.

Nice resort not so great room.

We arrived around 3pm and it was hot, we were disappointed that we were not greeted with a welcome drink. There was a waitress bringing drinks, but it was very slow so we went and got our own from the bar. Was a long wait to check in and we asked if we would be able to upgrade our rooms. She responded no were 100% full. She told us our luggage would be brought to our rooms, so we went ahead to find our rooms. Was disappointed to find out since being one number apart. We found that my room was on the other side of the storage cupboard and there was no way to get there but go around the courtyard. This storage cupboard had a metal gate on it that was very loud, screechy and banged around lots, which we heard all times of day including the middle of the night. The worst time was first thing in the morning 6:30-7am when the cleaning staff gathered out side our room and was impossible to sleep through, plus there were constant carts going by our room. Rooms very outdated and musty smelling but, the first thing we noticed in both our rooms the safes were both broken. I called the front desk to send someone to fix the safe and waited well over an hour for someone to come. Meanwhile we sent out kids to get our luggage that never showed up, it was still sitting in the lobby. So once all of this was finished around 6pm, the pool was closing and we barley made it to the beach to see the sunset that evening. The beach was amazing, and very clean! Absolutely nothing to complain about there. We had our first meal at the buffet and we found it hard to find anything decent to eat. There was not much selection and most of the food was cold. If your a wine drinker you won't want to drink the wine they serve at the buffet. It was terrible, we couldn't even drink it. We ended up ordering a bottle for $25. Breakfast the next day was pretty much the same, not much selection and everything was cold. The pools were clean and not too crowded. We ate lunch at the Mexican restaurant that day, they had a menu with a few choices on it. My sister said the Lemon Chicken was very good, I ordered the sandwich and it was ok. We had dinner and the Italian restaurant and it was not too bad, better wine from a bottle at least. The pasta was very tasty and the pumpkin soup was great! We had lunch at the pizza place upstairs the next day and it was very good also. We also went to the Dominican restaurant, and it was also decent. By far the best restaurant was the Japanese. Wi-fi was not cheap if you wanted to use it, it was free in the casino after 6pm (the only problem was the smoking). After the first night our tv pictures wasn't working, I told the front desk and was happy that they replaced the tv that afternoon. The maid service was spotty, they usually came too early and if you were still in your room they didn't come till later in the evening. I know my sister had a hard time getting towels, and had to share towels with her sons. On my last full day there is spent it waiting for over 2 hours to get the repairman to open my safe which wouldn't open. I called 3 times and asked the maid for the man to come. Once he fixed it, it was still not working well so I decided to carry everything around with me instead of waiting for the repairman to come back again. As a Travel Agent, overall I would tell my clients it was not a bad resort, was clean and had lots of stuff for our teenagers to do. I would have likely been saying this place was amazing if we had a better room, in a better location not beside the storage closet with the big giant loud gate. Also the service couldn't have been better, not too bad would give it 3* not 4* as they indicate.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!

The hotel was nice, kept clean and the staff were wonderful. The buffet food was ok, bland at times but that's to be expected. However, the fresh grilled seafood was delicious!! The pools were nice and the beach was gorgeous! There were always lounge chairs and plenty of shade if you need to get out of the midday sun. The hotel rooms were sub-par. They really do need to be updated. We had to call the front desk every other day to send someone to fix the safe and couldn't leave the room until someone came, which sometimes was over an hour. Overall, a good family resort but there are much better options in Punta Cana than this hotel.

Great resort for families

We stayed at Occidental Caribe with our 2 kids from Feb. 10-17. We had a wonderful time. The resort was really nice, well laid out and the pool and beach areas were beautiful. Lots of different restaurants and bars to keep everyone happy. We especially liked the Italian restaurant and got excellent service from Rogesmer. He took such good care of us and made our meal memorable. We liked the sax player at the Marien Lobby Bar every night and our favorite server was Martina. Not only did we get great service but she was so friendly and wonderful and really great with the kids. We recommend this resort for families and hopefully will go back some day.

Good customer service

When i arrived not the best experience. The lobby manager Jose Carrasco made the experience so good and got us what we wanted. If you want a nice strong drink go to Omar Alcantara at the bar in the lobby by the stairs that go to club. He works after 6pm.
