All Inclusive

A spectacular resort, set on a dazzling beach, the all-inclusive Barcel Punta Cana boasts 798 rooms with red Spanish-styled rooftops. The lobby, in warm tangerine hues, invites you to linger, with comfy seating under a chandelier, which amusingly also happens to house a birds nest! Sprawled parallel with the beach, this spacious hotel curves around gardens and features two large pools that are perfect for a refreshing dip.

Boredom is not an option at this adventurer's paradise! Fly through the air on a trapeze at the circus school, or test your strength and endurance on the rock-climbing wall. Then, gaze down at the spectacular ocean-view from the top. Children's programs are also available and include a playground, game room, pool, and more.

Entice your palate at one of seven specialty restaurants and after supper, don't forget to try your luck at the casino or take in one of the dynamic live shows in the forum-style theater. Before topping the evening off at the nightclub, stop by one of the late night bars for a nightcap. Finally, head off to your luxurious room to rest up for the next day's adventure.

Once you've had a good night's rest, why not start your day off in the gorgeous, fully-equipped spa? Enjoy relaxing in the hot tub, pampering yourself in the beauty salon, or melting away stress in one of many massage rooms.

instead of a king bed we got 2 doubles, how romantic. went to call the front desk and the phone did not work. there were no towels. After the second day, montizuma's revenge and the Apple Rep say'sno over the counter must see the doc$$. on the last day, I find the anti-med in the store downstairs. It is an illusion.

This hotel was not one of the fancier ones in Punta Cana, but the description given is spot on. Pictures are exactly what is shown. It has everything you need. It is well kept, clean and everything to keep you entertained. We would definitely stay at this location again. In a previous review it mentioned the elevators not working properly, that is true also. The worked for most of the time. They were slow and small. They also were very hot inside of them. But your only in them that long. Overall it was a great experience. I would also recommend this location.

No return to Barcelo

Other than our Bellman, Waitress, and Towel Boy, the service was awful! We were watched and followed at the Gift Shops. We asked if additional merchandise was available in back, the worker said maybe. We asked if she could check and she said no. We asked our kids to put everything down, that we would not buy anything while she was working. The staff in the Buffet was awful! Not friendly, not helpful. The staff in the sit down restaurants were very nice and helpful.

We had water leaking out of the bathroom ceiling for more than 4 days. I asked twice for room change and it was denied. We did not have clean towels in the room for 3 days and our complementary bottles of water were never refilled.

The beach was beautiful and loved access to the beach equipment, chairs were always available. The food was mostly unrecognizable to Americans, theme nights were not relevant at all. Restaurant staff seemed to ignore us most of the meals, very rarely were we served drinks - we had to help ourselves when others all around us would be served. Check-in was the most unorganized process I have ever experienced, very poor first impression of the hotel staff! It seemed to us that the only way to get service or help was banging on the counter and speaking loudly lin Spanish. Room attendants didn't understand that a group of 4 people needed 4 towels and 4 washcloths every day - we would have to go get our own every day. Nightly entertainment was a joke - same dances/moves each night just a change of costume - not entertaining! The pools were beautiful and the 2 staff running the "Aerobics" were a lot of fun! If you just want the beach and pool they were wonderful!

Don't believe all the negative reviews!

First of all, don't believe all the negative reviews. This place was exactly what you pay for and then some and I would most definitely go back! These people that are complaining have champagne taste on a beer budget. There wasn't any problem with checking in and we were greeted by smiling employees and a waitress brought us all a drink while we were waiting. They directed us to our room (2303) which was beautiful just like the pictures on their website. The resort is good size but after a day you know where everything is so it's not that difficult to figure out. Food is decent and out of 6 of us none of us got sick.. This was our first time staying at an all inclusive but from what I've gathered from friends the food is like that at pretty much any resort. The Japanese restaurant was by far the best and the waiter and chef were hilarious! If you're expecting a waitress to follow you around and get you drinks every 5 mins, you need to go to a $6k+ resort where they do that. There are bars everywhere and if you're too lazy to walk 5 steps to get your own drink, you need to go to a more expensive resort. The drinks are by no means watered down..One drink and you'll be feeling good! Tip a couple dollars and it'll go a long way. As far as staff being rude..We never came across a single rude person. Everyone was awesome and always had a smile on their face. And remember, these people work 16+ hours a day and NEVER stop and they are still very friendly!! Yes, many of them don't speak very good English but these people have to learn several different languages! If they don't understand what you're asking, they'll find someone else who does. The pools are amazing, the beach was amazing, the grounds and the entire place are very clean and there are constantly people working and maintaining the property. Again, if you are expecting the Ritz, spend the money and go to the Ritz. This vacation was worth every penny spent. I have 0 compalints with Barcelo Punta Cana! Side-note: We did not purchase internet because we wanted to enjoy ourselves and be disconnected. The other two couples that we were with purchased it and it worked all week with no problems. Room Tip: Our rooms were in buildings 2 and 3 which is quieter on that end of the resort See more room tips Stayed April 2016, traveled as a couple

Great Spring Break Destination - But not for families... and have to work to understand service expectations.
Gary U.
Apr 10 2016
Too much weight and preference given to spring break college students. Very loud and too much of a party atmosphere. As a paying family, we felt like we did not matter. Late night partying and constant loud music grew tiring. We were told this was not a "big" spring break destination. Nothing could be further than the truth. Had to ask for cleaning service 4 of the 7 days. Did not know what to expect and had inconsistent messaging on making dinner reservations. Staff was overall not helpful here. No snacks available. Resort was not interested in customer service.

Another great visit to our home away from home

Our group of 4 just made our 7th visit to this resort. We were greeted promptly and with a hug by Angela. Check-in was the usual breeze! We upgraded to an ocean view room. We call it the million dollar view. Our view overlooked the Quiet pool and the beach. Very peaceful out on the balcony after a long day in the sun. I’d recommend the upgrade if you really want the true experience. The food in the themed restaurants for dinner was as good as usual. Great variety and tasty. We always find something new to eat. We loved the Dominican restaurant this time. The beef stew appetizer was incredible. For lunch, we always enjoy the restaurant that turns into the Mexican restaurant at night. Good sandwiches, fish and pasta bar. The pizza place also hits the spot. If you’re coming for the beach, this is the best beach by far for miles. Chairs are plentiful and the beach is huge. No palapas but if you want shade, sit under the palm trees which line the resort. You can ALWAYS find a shady spot. For us, we’re beach bums so we prefer the direct sun and water approach. The water can be a little rough at times because it’s on the Atlantic side. This time it was perfect for us. Crystal clear and great for body surfing. Other times it can be a little daunting. It’s not your tranquil wade into water but that’s ok with us. The rooms as others have noted are a little outdated. We have had a problem or 2 but maintenance is usually pretty quick to respond so we’ve never been left hanging. Beds are very comfortable and the room itself is spacious. A tip.. leave housekeeping a few bucks here and there with a note telling them what you want in your fridge or other needed items. That definitely made a difference for us. Finally, I’d like to thank some folks for making our experience great and keeping us coming back. Angela and her team including Yaritza, Perla (Susie) and Brenda in Club Premium. Joryino, Maria, Clarissa and Nidya at the restaurants. These folks are hard workers and great people to get to know. It’s more fun when you get to know the folks that contribute to your experience. Finally.. learn a little Spanish. This is their country and there is a language barrier. A few words go a long way Thanks Mr. Marcos and Tom S. For turning us on to this place. We’ll be back very soon

This place is a joke. It took 2 hours to check in when we had 3 young children with us. It is the most disorganized resort I've ever been to. It is not worth the money at all. The rooms were outdated and had mold everywhere . They never stocked beer in the fridge, when you asked a maid for some they said they ran out? Really, how ridiculous is that. I travelled with 11 people and everyone of us got sick from the food. It was so disgusting and had no variety. Same stuff every day. No umbrellas or shade at the beach. If you wanted any shade around the pool, we had to get up at 6 am just to save it. They ran out of alcohol at multiple bars which I've never experienced anywhere before. The pizzeria was the only place that we actually enjoyed and had good food. The shows were terrible and didn't start till 10 pm at night which is way to late. Sound system was so bad and loud you couldn't even understand what they were saying or singing. The staff was rude and not friendly. No one could barely speak English. I travel alot and trust me when I tell you don't stay here. Even if you have to spend a $100 or $200 extra for somewhere else, do it!

Absolutely Fantastic!!!

We just returned from a week at this resort and loved almost every minute of it. There is only one somewhat negative thing about this property that I feel it necessary to mention. The rooms are dated and really do need a minor reno. Some of the plaster on the walls is rough, cracked and chipped floor tiles, and bathroom fixtures rough. But let me be clear...none of that was off putting for us, just something we noticed. We had an ocean front suite and the view was just incredible. The room furniture is typical and in good working order. The bed was great. The resort is right on the beach. Everything you want or need is close by. The grounds and landscape are incredible and very well maintained. The pools are great. The beach is second to none. Lots and lots of food options, food quality and selection are typical of a 4 star resort. Overall we had a great stay and would recommend this resort at this price point in an instant. Although we found the staff at the resort to be very nice and helpful there are a few I'd like to mention for going above and beyond. Reina at reception. Jennifer reception manager. Jose Miguel Castillo at the Pizzeria. You folks know what you did for us and we really appreciated it.

Hotel is a bit dated but didnt effect the overall feel, we had a fanily room which was 2 adjoining rooms a walk in wardrobe and a bathroom. We were prone to centipedes as we were on the ground floor. The safe is free and the restocked fridge however Wi-Fi is 12$ a day. Staff are amazing very helpful and pleasant. English is not the main language and it is sometimes difficult to get your point across, I would only take dollars and lots of 1s for tipping. Make sure you book all alacarte restaurants they are incredible with Paris being our favourite. The beach is spectacular with free all inclusive watersports. The downside.... This is a very noisy hotel we were woken regularly during 12pm and 4am guests are completely inconsiderate to those that sleep. The hotel only put security on once we complained about the noise and yo be fair to them once we complained they did resolve the problem. However with pool parties and bikini contests and young lads smoking who knows what in the pool with lots of dancing that I would say inappropriate for my 7 year old daughter I am sad to say that i would not recommend for families with young children.
