Hate to say anything negative about this facility. ON the second day we were issued a second room key, wouldn't work, then the first one would not work, two days to sort that out, some was my fault. We recently stayed at the Barcelo in Cabo for our 25th wedding anniversary . I was very disappointed with the swimming pools because the heaters were not working. We recently stayed at the Barcelo in Cabo for our 25th wedding anniversary . I was very disappointed with the swimming pools because the heaters were not working. There were two hot tubs at the main pool that were a slight bit warmer than the icy pool water, but were always full with children. When I inquired at the front desk on day three, the Management was not answering their phones. I waited on the Lobby for a reply for over 30 min., then asked to be contacted in my room. Surprise, I never did get reply. It seems from talking to others around the pool that we were not the only ones to complain. The resort was beautiful and had awesome amenities, but when you go on a beach vacation from a cold winter climate, you want to swim and enjoy it all.

The hotel hosts many, many corporation and wedding events. Their special events take away the facilities the hotel offers. We become 2nd class even though we are paying rate card for amenities we can't use. Also, the main pools water is like ice. Nobody can use it. This hotel would only get a 2 a .. More>

In our 4 years traveling to Cabo San Jose, this was by far the best. Hotel and staff were both amazing. Barcelo is a beautiful resort which is extremely well maintained. In our 4 years traveling to Cabo San Jose, this was by far the best. Hotel and staff were both amazing. Barcelo is a beautiful resort which is extremely well maintained. Every level of staff is always very friendly and very willing to help. The checkin was a bit lax in that we didn't get much direction on where to go for meals or times, but in asking around to other staff they were more than happy to help. Compared to years past where they typically hound you for activities or excursions, this was a nice change that we weren't bombarded with the "TO-DO'S"... although some direction would have been appreciated upfront since our room wasn't quite ready, we didn't know really where to go. Overall, a very nice stay and of all 4 places we've stayed, we would return to the Barcelo!

The pools were not heated, which made them a little too chilly to swim in. Otherwise, I would definitely return to this hotel! It is in great proximity to a few stores and has a great area of beach to walk on. We loved our stay.

Just returned from a week long stay at the resort. We celebrated our wedding on May 14th. It was absolutely fantastic. This was our second stay at this Barcelo. We were pleasantly surprised with how smoothly everything went. The wedding coordinators do an amazing job and it turned out better than we could have ever imagined. It was our dream wedding day and highly exceeded any expectations we had. Very organized and stress free. Everyone staying with us had a great time. I would recommend this to anyone planning a vaction or looking hosting their wedding at the Barcelo. We purchased the strawberry package with the ceremony/cocktail party/reception all on the beach. It was stunning. The only down side of the week was the resort was very busy with conventions for companies which were holding big venues at the resort towards the end of the week. But it did not stop us from having a good time. I would maybe try to enquire about events like that before booking next time. We totally love the Barcelo experience. Great food, drinks, staff and amenities. Can't wait to return.

We have just returned from our week long destination wedding and have nothing but rave reviews on everything we experienced at Barceló Los Cabos. All of our 26 guests thoroughly enjoyed the food - both buffet and specialty restaurants - the service and the amenities. I had read a number of reviews leading up to our departure and I question what expectations some people have from an all-inclusive resort. Sure there were some minor issues with some room assignments, and maybe the pool server was a little slow bringing our 5th round, but our experience was nothing short of amazing. The professionalism and dedication of Ariadna, the onsite wedding planner, was first class. Our wedding day could not have been more perfect. The location, weather, set up, ceremony, reception, dinner and service were all ideal. Can not wait to return.

We just got back from Barcelo in Cabo and I can't wait to go back. We did the all-inclusive package and upgraded so we could go to the a la carte restaurants every night. You can go to the restaurants for $40/pp and you can get internet for $100 for the week, so maybe the $500 upgrade wasnt completely worth it. But we used the spa and the club premium lounge as well and enjoyed that. So maybe it cancelled itself out. But it felt like we got conned into that. Would've prob been better to pay for the services we wanted a la carte. I read a review online that the French restaurant was so-so, so we went there on our 4th night. We wished we'd gone the first night so we could've gone a few more times. It was delicious. We live in Vail, Co. And we are used to five star restaurants and we were blown away. We went two nights in a row and had the roast duck one night and the lamb chops the next. Delicious! The Japanese restaurant is what we were looking forward to the most (we are sushi lovers) and we were disappointed. But we have the best sushi restuaurant in the country here in Vail, where the fish is flown in daily and so we set the bar high. The Italian restaurant was also great. The only restaurant we didn't love was the Spanish restaurant, but it could've been because you feel like you're in a dungeon there when you're at the beach. The best restaurant for atmosphere was the steak restaurant. They had great food, but it's outdoors and the waves are crashing next to your table. We went there our first and last night and during the day it's a lunch buffet, so we were able to eat there. They have burgers and hot dogs for the average American, and they have delicious ceviche, fresh guacamole, fish, chicken and beef tacos, and they always were cooking hot, fresh seafood- crabs, Mahi Mahi, shrimp, so good! Food is important to me and this place didn't disappoint. The rooms were clean. We stayed in a junior suite(the most basic room) and we sent pictures to our family of the bathroom because we loved it so much. but the basic room Has a bed, tv, couch, breakfast table and a bathroom suite. The bathroom opens up (via wood curtains) to the rest of the room a d right out to the sliding glass window that overlooked the beach. It was beautiful. They have potato chips and peanuts that sometimes they restock and sometimes they don't. But we were constantly eating and buffet spots are open from7am until dinner (10pm, I think?) so we never felt hungry. On the contrary, we ate more than we ever do at home! Overall, the hotel was great! Staff was friendly and helpful. Plan to tip. You don't have to, but if you do, you'll get better service. When we tipped $1 at the pool, we found that the people bringing us drinks came back frequently to see if we needed anyhting else. We always tipped in the restaurants because they were always so great! All in all, great trip and I'd definitely go back!

Bad experience at this hotel. The day of check in, the front desk lady (Marisela) just put everything in an envelope. All the coupons, maps, keys, and everything else. She also gave us a room that was different than what we had reserved. After realizing that it wasn't the room that we reserved, we came back to front desk and asked why the room she gave us was not the room that we reserved. The then asked me how I booked the reservation. I told her that reservation was made on hotels.com. I showed her the itinerary that was emailed to me and asked where the jetted tub was in our room, and how on the itinerary it showed there is room service and we were told that we had to pay for room service. I finally asked for a manager as Marisela has no clue about anything. A supervisor then came and we had told him what the issue was. He quickly blamed it on hotels.com and said that their website had the wrong information. Again, he was not able to do anything. We then asked for his manager. The whole time while we were dealing with our issue, we noticed there were a lot of people asking for a manager with their individual issues. Finally, after waiting for almost 30mins. the manager Pilar came. We let the ladies having issues with their dinner reservation go first. When it was our turn to talk to her, she immediately shut us off. I tried to show her the email from hotels.com, but she aggressively responded with " that's now what it says on my computer!" I then asked her why she was yelling at us. Her response was, this is how I talk! I told her that she shouldn't talk to her guests that way, and that its very insulting the way she's treating us. She then proceeded to talk to us like we were her kids. I then started raising my voice at her. I asked her for a business card and she said she doesn't have a card. My boyfriend then told her that she's not a real manager. That's when he noticed that there were 4 men posting on us, and he called them out on it. We then asked for the name of the manager for the next day and decided to take care of the issue in the morning. The next day came. We spoke to Matias ( manager). Explained to him the experience we had from the night before. He listened to our complaints and asked me to forward him our itinerary. He told me he would call me in 2hrs. After 2.5 hours, we still have not heard from Matias. We decided to see him at the front desk. As soon as he saw us, he then said oh I just got your email. I told him I sent it over 2hrs ago. I asked if we decided to leave if we can get our money back for the rest of our stay. He quickly declined as it is not in their policy. I then asked what he can do to make it right. His response was, I can give you a free cabana. Did not even bother to take the time to see if he can give us the room we reserved. He then told us that he needed to go as he has a meeting with his employees. We proceeded back to talk to Marisela and asked if she could call hotels.com for us. I spoke with someone from hotels.com and explained to her the situation. She immediately apologized and told me that she would call the hotel. I told her that I am using the hotel phone from the front desk and I can get Marisela to talk to her. Straight from Marisela's mouth came the truth. She told the lady that at the time of our check in they didn't have the room that we reserved so she thought she would give us an "upgrade" which us they're family suite. The lady from hotels.com tried to make it right by giving us 10% back for the first night stay. I told her I appreciate her trying to make things right, and I was not calling to get money back but get the room that we booked. She then proceeded to tell me that Marisela will take care of it and give us the room that we booked. After getting off the phone, Marisela said so everything's good. I then told her I was told she would move us to another room. She didn't even have the room key ready for us, and she said she didn't know if we wanted to move. Bottomline was, had Marisela told us that she didn't have the room available this issue wouldn't have happened. We never got an apology from her. Overall, experience was really bad. Inside the room, the mini fridge was not even on, the pools water was cold, there was vomit floating in one of the pools, kiddie pool was closed for the kids to swim in, and the food was horrible!!! This hotel should not be 4.5 stars, it should be -4.5 stars!!! This hotel is basically for people in their 20s, and people with small kids, if you want to have a relaxing vacation. This is not the place for you.

Our annual company sales incentive trip alternates between Pacific and Atlantic Ocean locations and this year it was the Barcelo Los Cabos! This is an A+ property as an all-inclusive and use of the specialty restaurants! We ate at a new one each night and our group of 20 loved everything about this place. Food and Drink are top notch. The Swim-Up Suites were a hit by all who had them, and those that did not wanted to have them! The rooms were all suites with all the amenities and intelligent controls via the TV. Different pools for each taste, a large selection of various lounge chairs, fabulous spa, multiple bars, firepits, etc. Frankly, what not to like! I've stayed in 5 star properties on down and this one is hard to beat for a beach vacation. I guess if one wanted a formal dress up atmosphere you would think this is too casual, but they do enforce men wearing long pants and closed toe shoes in the specialty restaurants.....why go any more formal than this on a beach location?
