Barceló Bavaro Beach is a 388 room adult's only option located right on the famous Bavaro Beach. An ideal resort for couples seeking adventure and endless activities, this all-inclusive resort will particularly appeal to snorkeling enthusiasts and beach lovers. The property has recently undergone room upgrades to meet Barceló's strict guidelines for room comfort and wellness. As one of two hotels inside the Barceló Bavaro Beach Resort complex guests also receive full access to the neighboring hotel and complimentary transportation services throughout the resort complex. Avid golfers will appreciate the value of at least one free green fee included every three days during their stay! Former names include Barceló Bavaro Palace and Barceló Bavaro Beach & Convention Center.

I go for the beach--best in the world as far as I am concerned. However, 99% of the time I am a solo traveler, and I have to downgrade my choice of hotel in the Barcelo Complex because for a solo traveler, it has become too expensive. unless you have been to this resort before, it is difficult to get around. The maps of the resort are very poor, the hotel staff acts as though you should know your way around. And standing in line at the pool bar waiting on watered down drinks was not where I wanted to spend my time. .. More>

Beautiful overall. We choose to stay in the adult only portion. Most ammenties were in the main area of the resort. The pools was fabulous but no swim up bar for the adults. Beach area was breath taking. My experinece was great and I would recommend going. I will be back. .. More>

This hotel had not recieved one bad review, and how could it, it's brand new! The rooms were beautiful, the entire resort was very well kept and overall we had a great time. Problems: Almost no one at the resort speaks English well enough to communicate problems or issues. They speak very basic English, but for a resort, especially one that is marketing internationally, the men and women working in customer service settings should be able to understand and relay information in other languages. I have been to resorts in other countries before and have never had the issue like I had here. While there were a few members of the staff that seemed concerned and wanted to assist us in the issues we were having, most of them wanted to pass problems off to someone else, terrible customer service. If you do an excursion, and do not speak FLUENT Spanish, do NOT do the excursion through this resort. They were unorganized, terrible at relaying information throughout the trip and even more terrible at speaking any other language other than Spanish. We were told we would be given all information in English and Spanish, that was just a lie. Our guide COULD speak English, he just chose not to and became rahter annoyed when we asked questions and did not understand what he was saying... take your tours through Apple. Do not waste your time on Le Comdie resturant, you have to pay more, they are snobby... and the food wouldn't have been worth it even if the service was impecable. Advice: Take a Spanish dictionary with you if you do not speak Spanish. Insist that the staff follow you to places to fix your problem (ie, room problems) because otherwise, they won't get fixed. Make dinner reservations early if you want to go to any of the resturants. The hotel is MUCH nicer on the Adults Only side of the resort, but the buffet food is much better on the Delux Resort side. As I said, overall the stay was wonderful and the accomodations exceeded our expectations, just take in to consideration the things I listed above and you should be smooth sailing. Hopefully the longer the resort is open, the more staff they will be able to attrack that can speak multiple languages.
