Awesome weather, gorgeous resort

We had so much fun on our recent visit to our his luxury resort. I was with my sister and my niece and nephew and their partners. There was plenty to do for the younger people, and a lot of relaxing for everyone. The weather was perfect every day. I have been to this resort several times, and I’ve noticed that they keep making improvements to the property. The food is really great, and this year they included a vegan section with many great vegan options at every meal. Security is excellent. We felt entirely safe the whole time. Highlight for us was the adult pool, which is sparkly and bright and perfect for relaxation. The younger people enjoyed a whole host of activities including watching wildlife, sailing, Zumba, archery, and other games. We are all in to exercise, so we really appreciated the beautiful fitness center. It has all the equipment you need, including weights and machines. Overall it’s a really great place, and we look forward to going there for many years to come.

I stayed at this resort for two weeks, truly enjoyed it! Check in was a breeze. I requested two beds, I was on vacation with my mother-in-law. Request was not a problem. Our room was on the 24Th Floor with a gorgeous view of the water, floating dock and the pools. Room was exceptionally clean and remained that way throughout the vacation. One day we didn’t have any beer left ..probably because the “do not disturb” sign was left on our door..I called room service instead of 2 beer they brought us 6.. I couldn’t figure out how to use the espresso machine. They brought us a new machine and a pot of coffee. The pools were beautiful with the adult pool very quiet... background music would have been nice. The pools and pool areas were well used and chairs were usually claimed by 10ish(the first week). I thought overall the chairs that were claimed were definitely occupied throughout the day. The pools closed later than a lot of resorts...around 8 Breakfast was available in the buffet (with a large assortment of choices) or the Oyster Bar...amazing views nice breakfast options here also! Reservations were required for the Oyster Bar (all meals)Mexican(Lunch and Dinner) Italian(Dinner) and Japanese(Dinner)...Sometimes if you couldn’t get reservations and just stopped by the restaurants....staff happily welcomed you in for your meal. I enjoyed every meal I had at this resort. Every single Azul Grand employee was helpful, accommodating,and wanted you to enjoy your vacation. Activities included that I tried...Spinning Class, Kayak Tour, Sailboat Tour,Bike Tour-and Arke...All top notch. The gym at this resort is unbelievable...It’s worth in the millions..Wow..I tried spinning Classes with both Tony and Alejandro Padilla...great classes and challenging. I showed up for the Arke Class.. I was the only person Alejandro Padilla was the instructor and he worked with me on this equipment every day. He also showed me how to use all the machines in the gym. Very helpful ..at no time did I feel that I was bothering him! Encouraged every day to come back the next day! Many of the staff working activities and Sports spoke English very well! Exchanging Canadian money to pesos was never a problem. I did go to some of the Shows, they were well done. I did a City Tour of Zihuatanejo. Booked through the Sunwing rep at the hotel..definitely encourage people to do this. Taxis and Buses were available just outside the hotel and very reasonable. Left the hotel to explore...and try some restaurants off the Resort. Enjoyed these also.

My spouse and I visited the Azul Ixtapa Grand on the advice of family members, and were definitely impressed. All around, this had to be one of the best resorts I've been at. The highlights would be as follows: -A very new, well maintained resort. -Friendly and attentive people offering excellent service. -A good space between the swimming pools, offering privacy for those who wanted it. The adult pool was well separated from the bustle of the other pools. -Very good food options in the buffet as well as the restaurants. -Beautiful views from the rooms. -The floating dock offered a very peaceful opportunity to lounge around (although wear sunscreen!). The very few areas we'd offer for improvement would be as follows: -A few extra towel hooks/hangers would be helpful in the rooms. -Some of the loungers by the adult pool had a broken centre section. It wasn't the end of the world, but made extended sitting a bit uncomfortable. -The reservation process at this (and most other) resort for restaurants could be improved. Would there be an option to place this on line, so guests could book prior to their trip? -My spouse welcomes the daily itineraries that cruise lines offer in guests' rooms. Something similar may be helpful to advise guests of activities taking place daily. -Given the topography, the beach space isn't the greatest, but I've been admittedly spoiled by the very long beaches of Cuba. The Club Med beach is easily accessible, and nice for a walk. The suggestions are small points. We were very happy with our stay, and can hopefully visit again.

The stay at grand Azul is sheer bliss. The ocean view room, the service, the swimming pool, the bar, the restaurant and so on, are all five star, period. There are a few tips I would like to share with you: first of all, it is worth every effort to book oyster bar for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The view is unforgettable. Second, if you have kids, check out the water park in the Azul. My daughter loves it. Third, bike tour and catamaran ride organized by the grand Azul are no fun at all. Since they are free, there is nothing to complain about. Fourth, try to not book with Sunwing as your non stop direct flight could be changed to non direct flight a few days before departure and you can not do anything about it. After booking, four days before departure, my non stop direct flight becomes one stop at Manzanillo, which means I have to take out all my luggage and check them in again at the Manzanillo. There is a clause in the fine print to allow sunwing changing itinerary as they wish. However, I believe that is for the inclement weather, or mechanical problem or something like that, not for cost saving. There is no doubt that Sunwing abuse it. Sunwing clearly does not care its customers spend a few more hours on the plane as the threshold for compensation is the delay for more than 24 hours as explain by sunwing customer manager George. He clearly knows all the rules and loopholes.

My mom and I go to Mexico every year now, this was the third time. I have to acknowledge the staff, both here at this Grand hotel, and at the Azual Ixtapa Hotel as well. Everyone was caring, welcoming, and looked out for me and my mom. Thank you so much, too all of the staff there. I call you my friends now, and I can't wait to see you all again. Thank you to the Manager, thank you to Delfino there, and EVERYONE else.. All of the ladies, so beautiful and friendly. Special thanks to Bernardo Marin who made me want to stay forever. I looked forward to seeing him every day there. Very nice, thank you so much. Love my mom- Kelley and I.
