I am really not sure where to begin. There is so much good about this resort I hope I don't miss anything. Lets start off with the hotel room. The room is very large with a two person Jacuzzi it even had a walk in closet with tons of storage space. The King bed was the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. The room was always very clean with an incredible view. House keeping even put fresh flowers in the room daily. Now for the resort itself. The resort is also pretty large with beautiful flowers and trees everywhere. There are three pools one is adults only the other has a swim up bar ( that is really cool its kind of like a man made cave with a water fall and little tables in the pool in that section is adult only in that pool.). There is a beautiful board walk along the beach that takes you to the other hotel ( about 7 minute walk) also along the board walk is the Oyster bar ( we had a beautiful dinner there where we were able to watch the sun set, it is very nice setting). The beach at the Azul grand is actually one of the cons of this resort it is very small and rocky but luckily there is a very large beach at the other Azul hotel just about a 7 minute walk down that beautiful board walk. Also we seen a crocodile in the roped off swimming area at the Azul Grand so be careful! There is TONS of activities to do here. Some of them are shared between the two hotels but still available for you ( again just a few minutes down the board walk also there is another beautiful path at the front of the hotel that leads you to the other hotel) There are shows every night, water activities also bikes. There are tons of exercise classes and also stuff for kids and teens. The food was okay not great but not horrible either. The service in every aspect was phenomenal, from front desk to the servers they were all just great! ( except Juan at Cocos Bar he had a real bad attitude) This hotel exceeded our expectations. We had a really good time and will return if ever back in Ixtapa.

We loved our Spring Break holiday at this location. Our only disappointment was that we should have stayed/ booked a longer vacation. Everyone who worked at the hotel went above and beyond to make our stay wonderful. The contemporary rooms have ocean views and are spacious. You can relax by the one of their three pools or be very active with their multiple classes ( boxing/ zumba, ARKE & kinesis/ spinning etc.) and outdoor sports. ( kayaking/ sailing/ snorkeling / biking etc)

Very nice

I was here March 9, 2017 for a week. Overall, I was very pleased with the resort. Rooms, pools and all public areas were very clean. There were a lot of stairs to move around the levels, but no real complaints as it worked as my exercise :-) There is a nice gym set up and classes that I planned to take advantage of, but once I was on the lounger with drink in hand, it became a distant thought. Staff: I had a really good experience with just about everyone I encountered. Very friendly, helpful, polite. Activities: There were plenty of things to do and unfortunately on the 4th day was when my friend found the daily activity schedule available at the activities desk on the pool deck. We got to do a bunch of stuff, but would have been great to know more about the daily stuff that you may not have heard announced or asked about. We did the kayak and snorkel tour to the island near by. It was included in the resort activities, great no extra cost. It was a couple minutes hike to get to the beach area for the snorkling part after we got off the kayaks. The beach was hard to walk on, sand was very course with all the small coral and shells. There is a restaurant there which had a pretty good menu, but couldn't stay as the tour didn't include time to stop. Many people though told me they rented water taxi to go over and spend some time there. Stuff off the resort: A short walk down the beach there is a market with the usual shopping options, but there is also an crocodile & bird sanctuary which was cool to see. Took the bus into Zihuatanejo & Playa del Carmen on different days to go shopping. The market shopping in Zihuatanejo was more enjoyable as the store keepers were not aggressive, but found them to be so in Playa. Beach: This was my first time on this side of Mexico. Didn't love the dark heavy sand, but the views were nice and it was a long stretch of beach. Food: No complaints on taste or variety. There are three restaurants I believe you need to make reservations for. We did all three and enjoyed them all. If you like massages, you should do the one offered on the beach beside the kayak area. Depending on the day the price was $200 or $250 peso for an hour, less than $10 CND It was awesome. There is a spa at the hotel, my friend inquired about the massages there and it was about 3 times the price. Wish I had done the beach massage earlier in the week so i could have gone twice. I'd go back.

Simply lovely

Everything about this place we loved. I have stayed at a lot of resorts in Mexico and hands down this was the best. Now granted the food is of the resort style but still very good. They serve top shelf liquor if you ask for it and every time I called down to the desk, any issues were resolved in minutes! Seriously, someone was tapping on the door minutes later! Will stay only here while in Ixtapa from now on cause why would I want to downgrade to anywhere else!!

Lovely hotel. Nice location but no beach. Rooms are nice size but would have been nice to have had 2 sinks in the bathroom. Jet tub is not necessary. Bed is very comfortable but pillows are too small for my liking. Ceiling fan would have been better than having air conditioning running all the time. Italian restaurant is AMAZING! My husband would have liked more dessert options in the main dining area. Not a lot to choose from. Nightly entertainment good but not advertised well! All staff was incredible.
