This review is my opinion after spending 2 weeks with my wife in the Azul Negril and we have had some great holidays all over the world. The check in was excellent and hassle free , we arrived at the resort at around 19:30 and during transfer were given room keys etc which meant no timely check in as this was done by Tui rep on board within our 1 hour 30 minute transfer.Upon arrival we were greeted with cold towel and glass of champagne. Th room 11003 in block 1 swim up was really nice and comfortable with safe , air con , hair dryer and iron / ironing board. The room was cleaned daily and towels which were required for change also replaced with clean. The adult only pool / swim up bar was literally a matter of feet from our room and super service provided by the bar tender Damien. The room has a mini fridge stocked daily with 4 x red stripe lager , 2 x diet pepsi , 2 x pepsi , 2 x water , 2 x sprite. The restaurants were super and staff service probably the best I have ever experienced as they were always happy and cheerfull and could not do enough for you. The Akee restaurant was really good and served a great steak ! This restaurant was not bookable but 1st come 1st serve basis and we had no issues on our 3 visits to be seated at a table. The palms restaurant is the main breakfast , lunch & dinner place to eat and wide range of foods for all - piping hot and delicious. The Thai restaurant along with the italian is bookable with 24 hours notice and both serve super food. We ate once at lunch at Garfields on the beach which serve really good Jamaican foods and also the palms pool snack bar also serve up some really tasty burgers , fries , jerk chicken and pork. Tips are appreciated but certainly not expected at any of the restaurants. As for dress codes no where will except men in vests for any meal of the day so shirt / t shirts a must. I took long chino trousers and never wore them as they were happy guys wearing chino shorts / shoes / shirt or t shirt so make an effort. The bars serve some great alcohol and unlike some resorts where you can drink and drink without feeling slightly tipsy believe me here you can ! The serve red stripe lager and branded spirits , Bells , Southern Comfort Baileys , Gordens Gin. The beans cafe do a great range of smoothies all served by the great staff. The gym which was must have been a 15 second walk from our room was excellent and equipped well - they stock water , fruit , towels to make a pleasurable workout. The gym always seemed open as I used it 5am and I know it was still used at 21:00. Staff to mention and I'm sorry if I have missed anyone as they are all very good but Damien on the swim up bar , Travis the garden / groundsman always helpful pleasant and not a day went by where he was not smiling , Craig at the amber bar , Rashene & Morris in the palms restaurant , the guy who cuts coconuts down all totally super. Excursions we did through TUI - Ricks Cafe and the YS falls. Both super trips and well worth the visit. The beach was great with entertainment from the guys walking up and down playing steel drums or guitars singing. Small tip and they will move on or a polite no and they are happy to move onto someone else. You will get offered cannabis but we declined and never found any concerns or pressures. Beach towels you can change as often as you like with cards issued on check in. I could go on and on about Azul but me and my wife really enjoyed our stay and the staff do help make the stay so special ! This was the first holiday we met up with another couple of groups of people and got on super which for us we have never done before as we normally keep ourselves to ourselves but what a great time we had with new friends ! My only negative would be that TUI never told us that this time of year is the Jamaican Dream Weekend which in Negril is 5 days of party from 14:00 till 06:00 for the independence day and also emancipation day. The hotel did get busy but fair play to the guys and girls partying in Negril who stayed here they were very well behaved / polite with no concerns. The bass though from the complex holding these parties was quiet loud which the hotel did warn us about with a letter to our room. We will certainly go back but would prefer to miss the 5 day party just so the roads etc are a little quieter.

Where do I begin... this is my own personal opinion of Sensatori Azul Jamaica and I would hope it will help others a little if not a lot. The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful however, it really does need some TLC in places. For instance stained walls, chipped woodwork, minor damages here and there but it does all add up towards your “experience”. We expected a little more for the money we paid, which by the way was close to £5k for 2 weeks as we upgraded to Premium. I can confirm the “upgrade” was not actually worth the additional cost because you do not receive a great deal extra than other guests. We know this as we made friends with another couple who didn’t upgrade and their room was slightly smaller but overall we had very few differences whatsoever from finishing touches to services. The beach butler was pretty much none existent for the entire holiday which was a real shame as this was the main reason we upgraded!! We feel completely robbed if I am honest. We were promised a free welcome gift for being Premium guests, such as massage for 2 or a private dinner on the beach. However this was never received... Arrival - Upon arrival we were greeted with a cold flannel and a glass of bubbly which was a lovely touch after a 2 hour bus journey from the airport. Our Tui rep kept us entertained during the journey which was definitely a plus after an 8.5hr flight!! We did arrive to a storm but we were provided with large umbrellas for the (long) walk to the other end of the hotel - block 12. We were shortly escorted to our room by a bell boy after waiting around in reception in the hope the rain would die down. We felt awful for the bell boy who insisted on carrying all 4 of our cases up to the top floor as there are NO LIFTS?! Obviously nobody in their right mind would allow that so we of course helped and he was extremely shocked but very appreciative. Already proof staff would go above and beyond for you! Room - Our room (12212) was more than adequate and from first impression very clean and modern. However, during the course of our holiday we realised we were being bitten... by bed bugs!! We appreciate mosquitos were present but we only ever got bitten at night, in bed?! Pools - It completely baffled me how there is not a bigger main pool with more atmosphere and better vibes. It’s Jamaica Man!! The hotel itself is quite large so this did seem very out of proportion. We usually stay at Riu Palace hotels and they have such a good atmosphere during the day with numerous activities and music etc. Each block of rooms had their own pool, as first floor rooms are the "swim up" rooms. Most of these pools had swim up bars but it felt strange getting into a pool that lead to someone else's room if that makes sense! Hence why we didn’t book one ourselves as we felt there wouldn’t be a great deal of privacy. Therefore, there were not many people in the pools so there was a lack of atmosphere. Atmosphere - I wouldn’t say the resort itself catered to children and/or families. Which is fine for myself and my fiancé as we do not have children (yet). However, we are aged between 25-30 and if you’re looking for a fun/lively resort then this is not for you. Having said that I have never been anywhere in the world where people are this friendly. From the waiting staff to the cleaners! The motto “No Problem” really speaks volumes in Jamaica. I love the people! Overall we enjoyed our holiday, as who wouldn't.. You are away from every day life! But we feel it could have been much better. Sadly, we will not be returning to this hotel and possibly never return to Jamaica again. Be warned - the hotel is so far away from most of the excursions you can do. Other than Rick's cafe which I would highly recommend!!

Some thoughts as I get ready to leave Azul Negril

I cannot say enough good about this resort. I've always stayed pretty close to home so was not sure what this trip would bring. My wife and I had decided to take 3 of our grandchildren on "a trip of a lifetime" - Azul Sensatori made that happen more than we had hoped. Special thanks to Garth, Maitre D' at the Palms! Due to an old injury and back problems I was having trouble walking. Garth noticed, voluntarily got me a wheel chair and took me back to our room in building 12, as far from his restaurant as possible. Thank you Mr, Garth .... my first Azul friend. Also a special Thank You to Akeem (a special waiter at Mahogany) for introducing me to Papaya juice. It's incredible! And lastly I have a special greeting to an extraordinary young lady ...... Ieesha (my spelling is probably not right) from the gift shop at the south entry, My 6 year old grandson fell in love with her .... undoubtedly it was their personalities meshing. I think a bit of her became enamored with him also. So to Ieesha from Dylan "I already miss you already Beautiful!" Thank you to all staff and management at Azul Sensatori Negril. I think you've turned me into a world travelor. After the exceptional treatment we were given I'll never be content going to the lake anymore.

Amazing Stay at the Azul Beach Sensatori

Amazing Holiday at the Azul Beach Sensatori, so good I didn’t want to come home! I travelled with my Aunt and we upgraded on just about everything, the flight over we were in Premium Club and the cabin crew were fantastic, friendly, organised, we had booked fast track on arrival and a private transfer and all went very quickly and smoothly. The TUI rep gave us a pack at the airport which contained your room number and other useful bits of info, you are checked in before you reach the hotel which is fantastic no queuing on arrival and filling out 100’s of forms! More hotels should do this. Our driver Ralston made a fantastic start to our holiday Jamaican style, he was so kind and chatty and even stopped at a halfway point, so we could refresh and have a rum, the journey went so quick as we were having such a great laugh! On arrival we were greeted with a drink and cold flannel we didn’t wait long and a porter took us to our room and gave us a tour on route. We upgraded our room to Honeymoon Suite Adults Swim-up Ocean view, and the room was superb! We had room number 21001 and the view was stunning, and we were in a very convenient location to all amenities, our room was huge we had a bathroom each! A huge lounge area, a bed the size of a pitch and of course our own balcony leading straight into the swim up, in fact the room was so big! and we had so much cupboard space we could not remember where we had unpacked everything.  The room was cleaned daily and in the evenings, we had a turndown service and I cannot complain about anything with the room or the keep or the daily replenishments of water ect. Food – there are lots of restaurants, think we were spoilt for choice to be honest, you would not go hungry, our favourite restaurant ended up being the Thai right at the end of the complex there food was amazing as was service particularly Asauni we grew quite fond of him he was a lovely young lad and such a friendly waiter.  We did visit the different buffet restaurants and I cannot complain about them either food variation was good and if you don’t fancy it book up a restaurant or chance another one which we did do on occasions, the Italian was not for us we did not enjoy the food in there but that was just our preference others loved it, they do a BBQ at lunch times by Garfield which is definitely worth a visit. The snack shack at lunch also provided food to take away this was literally 4 steps away from our balcony, so I would order food and take it back within minutes. All the staff were amazing we made so many friends and I can mention some of the names below, but all the staff were so friendly and fantastic and really made our holiday: Shout out to: Damian Travis Garth Tina Vandria Selena Asauni The 2 young girls in the lobby serving the Frappacinos! You must try these they are amazing!   The reception, the security guards, the maids, everyone was lovely.   We chose to go in July as my aunt wanted to celebrate her birthday out there, however this is rainy season and you do get a lot of rain, but it did not spoil it for us, there were still enough hours of sunshine during the morning for us to come back home with a cracking tan! And even with the rain it is still very hot and humid! Only 1 thing I will gripe about, most of the walkways are boards and they have gaps in these boards, big enough for your heels to get stuck, I wrecked a perfectly good set of heels whilst out one evening and I noticed other guests were having the same issues, so wear flats, thin heels are no good in this hotel, but this is no biggie! Although maybe it is something the management could consider reviewing. All in all I cannot really find any major fault with this hotel, would I go back yes definitely but would need another lottery win to afford all the upgrades! Was a fantastic hotel a fantastic holiday and still my number 1 favourite destination in the world. Any questions please ask I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Lovely holiday!

Myself and my partner went to Jamaica in May, but I’ve only just got round to reviewing this hotel! We booked the holiday a year in advance, having already stayed in 3 other Sensatori Karisma hotels, we knew exactly what to expect! When we arrived we were given a welcome drink and quickly shown to our room. Our room was not as expected at all! We booked a superior suite, which we had booked for our previous sensatori holiday which was extremely luxurious. This room was really disappointing as it was a really small suite; our bedroom was tiny which only had two small drawers, 1 very small wardrobe where my partner had to live out of his suitcase. You could just about get in to the bathroom and close the door as the toilet was too close to the door, it had a very small shower that had a shower curtain which kept falling down and kept going inwards when showering making there even less room to shower. The room had really thin walls where you heard next door’s tele late at night. This room was:61003. A few days in to the holiday we asked to move rooms. We didn’t think we would actually be able to but a staff member came and found us at the pool two days later and we were shown two suites on their premium blocks. We chose room 93009. Now this was a suite and exactly what the photo’s looked like when we booked. We had 2 wardrobes both with allot of space and drawers, a queen size bed, a massive bathroom and a large balcony space. We instantly felt allot happier and more comfortable. A few days later we walked past our old room and it was being decorated so hopefully the room was given a massive makeover. The food was lovely, one of the best sensatori hotels in terms of the restaurants and their foods. Our favourite restaurant was by far hua hin, we ended up going to this restaurant 4/5 times out of our 2 week stay. The first time we went to the italian restaurant, it was just ok. We tried it again and we had a much better experience. So do try to give it another chance if you dont enjoy it the first time. - we were really pleased we did! The only little negative were the massive measures that the staff put into your drinks at every single bar. We wanted to enjoy our drinks not cough and splatter every time we had a sip! Overall the staff were amazing, they were all so friendly and attentive! The destination was picture perfect and we were definitely in paradise. I would definitely love to return one day!
