Late Arrival at the Resort

We arrived at Poipu Kai about 10PM Hawaiian time to find the office closed. We found a sign on the door with instructions to pick up the phone setting on a lockbox. A woman on the phone gave us a combination to the lockbox and inside we found a flashlight, keys and instructions to our unit. We were expecting two beds, but got one bed and a pull-out couch. Maids do not make-up a couch and never make any beds at all. Otherwise. the condo was furnished nicely and the kitchen well equipped, but could have used a ceiling fan in the dining area. Outside carpeted stairway smelled very moldy. The lower part of the stairs/walkway from the 2nd floor was very slippery when wet (every day). No elevator, making it difficult to lug suitcases up to the 2nd floor.

The unit was perfectly situated for our week on the island - hall way to both sides of the island and lots of choices for shops and restaurants. A fantastic new coffee shop has opened up nearby too! The unit was a bit old in style but large and had all the ammenities we needed and perfect for travelling with 18YO son.Great BBQ ( which was sadly out of gas but there was another nearby), a bath tub as well as a shower and fresh towels supplied during the week!! I love that american units always have a coffee machine - we always travel with our own small plunger so a machine is a bonus. Just minutes walk to Poipu Beach and all its attractions and perfect sunset viewing. We had better meals on Kauai than we did in lour week in Honolulu so that was a great surprise.On the last day we did the walk from the resort to Shipwrecks Beach all along the cliffs. So much to do but it was definitely worthwhile to have hired a car.

This was our south island stop for our second week on Kauai. Comfortable and fairly spacious. Our unit was ready early, a nice surprise. This place is very close to Po'ipu beach and the old town of Koloa. Lots of shops and meal choices. Pool was accessible right outside our unit. Except for night one when the 'stomper' family was in residence above us, it has been nicely quiet. Specified parking spot makes parking no hassle. Beautiful intermittent ocean view from the living room and patio. Groceries on this end of the island seem slightly cheaper than the north end. Could just be my imagination though, addled by all the relaxation. I would come back here sometime.

Great Condo Unit

We rented a two bedroom, two bath condo through costco travel and were completely delighted with the condo, the grounds, and the great reception staff. The condo itself was very clean, updated, and very large. Both couples felt very comfortable for the entire stay. The reception staff was very pleasant, efficient, and helpful. From the condo, there is a path to very nice beach. Poipu is a great area that has two upscale shopping malls nearby and plenty of good restaurants to choose from. We were able to take a short walk from the condo to Kalapaki Joes restaurant. The restaurant is also a good choice, if you are looking for good food that is moderately priced.

Once again, fabulous choice!

Having had a great work stay here last year, we booked at Aston for our vacation this year. As before, this was a great choice. This trip, we traveled with another couple and rented a larger unit. Aston accommodated all our special requests ahead of time and were exceptionally attentive throughout our ten day stay. No request was too small and their rapid response time was impressive. This property is just as beautiful as we remembered. We felt totally at home and can’t wait until next time. With a fairly well furnished kitchen, we grilled out throughout the week, enjoyed the pool and were a short walk from the beach. Our only downside was that the parking was a bit of a challenge this time. Next year we will try to rent a unit with assigned parking. The office staff at the rental office could not be any more welcoming and helpful. Such nice folks! You can rent first run movies from them when you come to pick up the daily newspaper or enjoy a little island orientation as well as have assistance with activity planning. Can’t go wrong with Aston Poipu Kai!

Wow! I mean WOW! I booked our vacation through Costco travel as usual, but our normal property up the road a bit was sold out, so I took a shot with the Aston At Poipu Kai... The star ratings and overall reviews were very similar to Kiahuna Plantation, so I figured why not. Very happy I did. Reception was nice with a really pleasant hostess to check us in, as well the checkout process was thoroughly painless. No hidden or surprise charges. I reserved a 2 bed 2 bath condo with a garden view along with the rest of my travel and the price was great. The unit however, was unbelievably nice! It's considered a partial ocean view, but you really won't get a view unless you do a little walking to get the angle, but it's right smack in line with the large pool and barbecues... The Unit is a bottom corner unit, tucked away and quiet. It is an individually owned unit and it is maintained incredibly well! There was literally no complaint of anything. Furnishings were very nice, beach themed rattan and tropical style, but nice. Many have cheap furnishings, this one definitely wasn't the typical. Nice cabinets and appliances throughout, very nice flooring, and it had a/c units in each bedroom, a major bonus. No corroded, rusty or ugly fixtures at all. Washer and dryer was the typical stacked apartment type, so if you use them, shrink down your load sizes, otherwise you'll be there a while. This unit was immaculate. We have found our go to property and unit for all future visits for sure. I'd not think twice about recommending this property and unit to friends and family, that's for sure. Mahalos to the staff and owner there, you made our stay absolutely perfect. Aloha
