Good but not King Size
WALTER M.

We were supposed to have a King Size bed but upon check in on Wednesday we were told that was not available until Saturday. We did not want to move after 3 nights so we said no. They did give us a $75 credit but we did not get what we signed up for!

Excellent service and a great time for everyone. The entire experience was amazing and the bartender at the beach (Jhune) what the best!! I have to make sure that the hotel management knows just how great he was! I only issue is that trying to reach the hotel to verify my points were added to my Marriott Rewards Program could have been better. I'm still waiting to hear back from the and I emailed the hotel last Thursday. It is now Sunday.

Just wish everyone was on the same page with the rental of beach corerage. We were told different prices each time and the last day we decided to stay on the beach and pay for the palapals. We were told by the front desk tht there was a $50 deal that if you spent $40 on food and beverage that you got the palapals for $10 dolors and the food covered the balance. Had we known this early in our trip we would have done this every day instead of getting up early to try and get umbrellas at the pool.

I would have liked to have had some entertainment at the hotel besides the Casino. It was pretty boring at night.

Beautiful beach and resort layout. The only thing that I was not happy with were the Concierge at the Hotel. I do not think they were affiliated with the hotel directly and gave poor directions for people who ahve never been there before. After an hour of dirving to find a restaruant they reccomended and starred on a really small map, when we returned to the hotel the next person provided us with a very detailed map specifically for that resaruant. Then in the morning when we asked for a resturant by name for breakfast, they told us where it was and we drove all the way to find out they do not servce breakfast and were not open. They probably should have been able to tell us that. Outside of that everything was great.

I would probably book myself through Marriott. I was thinking their would be a apple representative and there were none on the property. Mother transfers took too long - 1 hour. So we took a taxi back to airport that took only 20 minutes and 20 dollars.

Another great stay and great staff

I returned from my 33rd trip 2 weeks ago. 31 of my stays have been at the Marriott Stellaris and the Marriott Aurf Club (I am an owner and bought Pre construction). As always all was great. I am writing to give a shout out to the incredible staff especially Franklin, one of bartenders, and Jasmine, one of the waitresses at the pool. I have known each of these individuals for many many years and both of them always provide impeccable service with a smile and make my stay that much more enjoyable. They are both assets to the Marriott.

Laura Restrepo at the concierge desk was extremely helpful. She made us reservations for restaurants before we arrived. She helped us make reservations for the Jeep tour and the sunset cruise. Thank you for all your help. You are wonderful!

Came here and to Aruba for the first time. The hotel was very very nice and the staff were all more than accommodating. We had a junior suite which was a nice sized corner room with good ocean views but the on line picture did make the room look even bigger. The one word of caution I would give is to make arrangements for a palapa before you leave for your trip as they might be hard to get on the beach if it’s busy. Breakfast was great at La Vista in the hotel and if you can get Francis as a waiter he will put a smile on your face first thing in the AM. It was one of the nicest Marriotts we have stayed at.

An honest review!

Just returned from a week long stay at the Aruba Marriott and it was mostly an amazing trip! To keep it as concise as possible - The good: -Amazing beach - plenty of space, sand, chairs, helpful employees to set up the chairs and give you towels. -new palapa reservation system. I was nervous after reading the reviews and honestly the new system is fantastic. You log into their website and at 4pm & 7am free palapas can be booked. I followed this tip and so should you-be signed in by 3:55 and hit reserve now at 4pm exactly. They go fast. That being said - we had no problem securing one each day free. Beats standing in line - we did this from the comfort of our beach chairs. -kind, helpful employees (minus some of the front desk staff - see below) from ALL the LaVista crew to housekeeping to bartenders - top notch. -good location. Plenty of restaurants within a quick walk on the beach. We only ate at LaVista for breakfast and Ruth Chris for dinner 1 time. All other food was outside the hotel. Gelato in the lobby will become a new addiction! -adult pool. Quiet, good bar, comfy chairs. Only used the main pool for the swim up bar during- -happy hours - AWESOME happy hours. Coming from Cayman where happy hour meant a $20 drink instead of $25 we loved this. 12-1 & 3-5 two for one drinks. Great beach service too - go for the slippery monkey or very berry! The not so good: -check in. It was PAINFUL. I’m a lifetime titanium (old platinum) her first words to me were not welcome or thanks for your loyalty it was you are booked in a room with no view & you will not be upgraded. Well, then, good foot to start off on. She was trying to give me points instead of taking the breakfast for 2. When I said that’s not what I want she told us - more than once - don’t eat from the hot side of the buffet or you will be charged. Made us feel about 10 years old. She was unwilling to answer any questions about the property simply said come back at 4 for your room. We agreed everyone couldn’t be this bad so we rolled the dice went back up and were saved by Angelina who was just a delight. Her smiles, waves and hellos made us mostly forget any negative interactions with the other front desk staff. To that - I would simply warn any loyalty member, especially using points, the almighty dollar rules here. They want you to pay $200+ a night to upgrade to tradewinds. They are not shy about saying $ pays for any upgrades. Our room “without a view” was great and had a great side view of the ocean. I’m glad we didn’t let her ruin our trip or be suckered into paying over $1000 extra in upgrades. Breakfast-well there is no hot side and cold side. It’s stations. Beverly had created such panic in us we didn’t know if a hard boiled egg would be ok to eat. Could we use the toaster? The wait staff never treated us like second class & laughed along with us when we had questions. They give you a bill for $50 so you can see what the “free breakfast” costs but that is actually way more than the hot & cold buffet on the menu! Full disclosure: I emailed the hotel and explained my issues with the front desk. Never got a reply but the great Angelina sent us up some treats (so they got it). I suggested instead of shaming their loyal guests at check in if they are worried about hot & cold food just let people order off the menu. 100% of the options are less than what was billed. Also suggested that saying that one isn’t paying enough for an upgrade should generally be avoided for good customer service. So with a retraining of some front desk staff I think this Marriott could be a real gem.

84 degree days with a constant sea breeze. We used the Tradewinds package that include meals, drinks, and a small open bar in the evening. Adult pool and plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Going back in December and staying longer!
