Great location and relaxing resort

We just returned from our vacation at the Aruba Marriott, and let me tell you, we will be back. It has a great palm beach location and some of the most friendly staff I've ever encountered on vacation. We stayed 5 nights in a Governor's suite, and the room was so spacious and nice. The only thing is that it is advertised as 1 bedroom, but there is no door on the bedroom, just a 6 foot wide archway. 2 bathrooms was especially appreciated as we traveled with our teenage daughter. The suite came with a reserved palapa, which was nice, because you have to work to get one reserved each day. The sun is very hot in Aruba, so I highly recommend getting a palapa if you spend much time on this beautiful beach. The food choices were good from the sushi bar in the lobby to LaVista and Ruth's Chris. But our favorite has to be Atardi on the beach, what an amazing view with dinner. Every single employee we encountered was exceptionally friendly, which is a delight when on vacation. So many times in a resort community, you can tell the employees are tired of tourists. The comedy show, Aruba Ray, was very funny, and worth the extra money. The only reason I give this hotel 4 stars instead of 5 is the lack of night life. Some nights they had a small band in the lobby, but there was no night club or lounge of any type (probably because they want you gambling in the casino). Overall, we loved this hotel and would go back in a heartbeat. If you are traveling with small children, there might not be enough to keep them entertained, but there's always the Marriott Surf Club 2 hotels down that seemed pretty kid friendly. We walked through all 3 Marriott properties as they are so close, and were impressed with each one.

Another great week in Aruba

As always the Aruba Marriott did not disappoint. The location, the staff, and the amenities are all great. The onsite dining is stellar as well as the service if you just want to grab a fish taco on the beach. Had one minor issue with a beach palapa but that quickly remedied. Rented a jeep at the attached Marriott vacation club for 3 days and explored the island.

Having a lovely time and being treated with usual Marriott service. Room 865 is the best non suite in the hotel. Tradewinds lounge exceeding expectations. And the bday surprises for Mrs R were fabulous. On the down side. Smoking spots block all exits; especially from the north elevators. And the drinks have been horrible. Multiple bars multiple signature cocktails none of them worth having a second cocktail. Waves, H2O and Lobby bar all failed even delivering the cocktail as listed. The world best pina colada should rename itself the worlds weakest effort at the worlds easiest cocktail. No dark rum on top, no salt rim....poorly made horribly tasting signature drinks. Moomba Beach is not only half the cost their bartenders actually no how to make cocktails. Had to go there to find out what an Aruba Aruba is supposed to be. Marriott Is really Off their game on this aspect.

excellent hotel for family vacations

There are so many employees in this hotel who go out of their way to make sure you have a good time. Mr. Leslie Prea always has been one of those . He truly goes out of his way to check with the guests to make sure everything is going in the right direction. Annie Theophile is no slouch. She seems to know exactly what her guests need and is there to make sure it gets done. After 24 yrs. she knows us very well and makes sure things go exactly as planned. She has always been a people person. Max in Room Service is a very happy, professional employee who is excellent. Lucia also is a very professional employee and a delight to deal with.
