our two weeks here were great, its a great shame it closed down, we had a great time and the staff were incredible considering they were all about to lose or move in their was good, and although the sea was a bit rough in the first week the second week was a lot calmer.

Now closed and being redeveloped.

Sadly the Almond Beach Club has been sold by the previous owners to Sandals, who are doing a total knock down and rebuild (July 2018). This used to be a sister resort to the Sugar Cane Club - an excellent small (47 room) hotel which is about a mile inland from here. People staying at the Sugar cane Club could use the facilities here as part of their all-inclusive package. There's been quite a lot of local unhappiness about Sandals taking over this site.

My sister and I travelled to Barbados and to the Almond Beach resort for the first time in April. We had heard that it was closing at the end of April so we were hesitant that perhaps all the amenities would not be open and the staff would be unhappy. What we did find was a terrific resort and the staff were still "on their game". We were very sorry to hear that this resort has closed as we would have traveled back again. The food was good and the rooms kept very clean!!! Not a 5 star by Canadian standards but comfortable and clean. The bonus was that there was a half day jeep excursion (tour of half the island) and it was complimentary ! IN addition, the resort booked tours out to the sea so you could swim with the sea turtles....fantastic experience. Any other place we've been we would have been charge $75.00 to $100.00 per trip per person and these were included. The fellows which ran the beach activities were fantastic and fun. Ebow and Adrian especially! We hope to get back to Barbados as we found it very very safe (ride the local yellow bus if you get a chance ) can walk to Speightstown and take the bus to Holetown!!! Very fun experience and we want to get back!!!! Thank you to the people of Barbados!!!

Lovely resort, service really great.

The resort was a little dated but the workers were great. Food was very good especially A La cartes. Sorry to see this resort closed at the end of April. Barbados was a great place to visit, many excursions to do.

Fabulous holiday

We had a wonderful time, so sad it has now closed down only to be replaced by another chain hotel. Exceptional service from the staff, food was lovely, drinks galore and also trips included. Swimming with turtles was amazing, and the lady who piloted the boat was very good, helping me, a complete novice to get to grips with snorkelling ! The jeep safari, with our lovely driver Ian will never be forgotten! I laughed so much! He was very knowledgeable and great fun! We booked through secret escapes, but to be honest even if I'd paid in full, it would still have been a bargain. Brilliant !
