Wonderful holiday.

I read some poor reviews, before we took this trip, it I'm really glad we didn't listen. The hotel was great even tho it's closing. The food was spectacular. The owners had obviously had to let some staff go who had secured other jobs, so not every restaurant was open every night, but they'd balanced it out really well and the food was good all over. The rooms were clean bedsheets changed daily and the room attendants couldn't have been more helpful. Everyone had a smile and couldn't do enough. Everyone went that extra mile. Great job Almond. I'm only sorry we can't stay with you when we return.

This was recommended to us as 4.5* luxury hotel by BA... in reality I be surprised if it made 2.5. The accommodation was tired, ruby and stained rings from cups on the woodwork and chips out the chest of draws, tv sockets handing out of the wall, brown and dark water stains on the curtains and pelmet. A bathroom so small you have to open the door step to the side of the toilet (a gap of 8 or 9 inches) to get in and close the door. Light fitting rusty. Out of the 3 room we had booked all of the clothes steam irons leaked water. In the Bar area now of the draught beer worked (it appeared this had been a issue for sometime) only bottled beer available from a large bucket of iced water on the floor, as it appeared the fridges didn't work. Thank fully BA accepted our complaint and moved us out the next day. We had an exit meeting with the manager of the hotel who amazed us by saying and it quote,"Its tiered and run down but it is what it is". unquote.. Subsequent conversations with Taxi drivers, and staff at the next hotel revealed the hotel is due for redevelopment this year. Hence no investment in doing it up or repairing anything.

Good bye Almond...

we traveled with a group of 16 people and had a great time here! Sure it's dated and the rooms weren't perfect, but it was a clean decent sized room with a frig and what else matters. The bed was a king, but that was 2 beds pushed together and my feet hung off the end of the bed every night. I'm only 6' 1". So, that wassn't the most comfortable, but I managed and slept ok. The food was really good, although repetitive, but it was always cooked and presented well. For a place that's undergoing a rebuild in stages starting at the end of April, we found all the staff to be fun, gracious, courteous and helpful. We never ran into 1 person we would speak ill of, the entire time we were there. BIG kudo's to Torrence the bartender that looked after our group with expertise and fun, the whole stay.... he was awesome. A great person and bartender. we did 3 of the 4 tours that were included in our package and they were all fun and got us off the resort grounds for a while each time. The island bus tour was very informative and was my personal favourite. All in all, we all had a great time and it's unfortunate that this place is being converted into a Sandals because it makes it more unattainable to return and visit a wonderful island, just because of the cost. Good luck to all the employees and hopefully they all remain gainfully employed as this big switch takes place.....

A drean come true !

Best Island I have ever visited...!! So sad to know that the Almond Beach Resort will no longer be as of April 30, 2018. It was a resort that us Canadians could afford to visit and now it will be out of my price range. I loved every minute I was there and did as much as I could while there !! Food, weather, rooms, resort, staff etc...second to none !!

Had the opportunity to visit my grandparents home again, after 20 years. Stayed at the beautiful Almond Beach Resort. Outstanding location right on the beach. The most precious asset was the staff. Very personable and professional. Pleasure to interact with each one. They made the trip that much more enjoyable. Unfortunately, learned that the property will close the end of April 2018 and will be bought out. I am sad and will miss the great food and people.
