The hotel is in a good location and the staff is decent. That is the end of the positive aspects. The shower water was freezing, the Wi-Fi was brutal (this review may not even post properly), there was a legit brawl outside our door during breakfast. The one saving grace was being able to frequent allure chocolate as well. Chocolate seemed to be a notch above. Charles, the bartender at the pool was phenomenal. Cartagena itself was great but this hotel was not. Would not recommend

Nice location, next to the walled city

Went to Cartagena on a vacation trip and the hotel was a pleasant surprise. Located in Getsemani, it's in a walking distance to Cartagena's walled city and the harbour, having countless options for a meal or some drinks nearby. Our room was very well located, very quiet and with a good view from the street and the sea. The staff is very helpful and will gladly tell you how to enjoy your stay in Cartagena. The only thing you need to be careful about is that, much like every other place in the city, staff there will sometimes insist you take some especific tours, designed to catch unware tourists, like the Chiva Rumbera, which is mainly a ride on an old bus with loud music and old people drinking bad booze, and some of the resorts in the private islands around the city (instead of offering other options, which are better). Another downside is that, in trying to be welcoming, staff sometimes will invade your personal space. They give you a courtesy chocolate every night. One day, the cleaning staff forgot to place the chocolate in our room so they felt it was ok to let themselves in, using a master key, while we were there, inside the room. They will welcome you with a very diverse bow of regional fruits that are delicious. Same can be said about breakfast, with a beautifully arranged plate of fruits and some bread and butter. You can also ask them to make you some eggs. A really nice place to stay when in Cartagena.

Closed for renovations but no one told us

Imagine you wake up at 2:30AM to start your day of traveling to Colombia, expecting a pick up at the airport arranged thru the hotel only to find no one there and have to take a cab (which is fine since it's 1/3 the price but we wanted to make things easy) then get left off and the door is freaking locked and you're standing there with suitcases wondering what the hell is going on. Thanks Allure Bonbon for the lack of communication that we would be moved to the Chocolat down the street. Someone finally noticed us standing there and told us we were moving but there was absolutely no reason to not have known this in advance. Ridiculous.

Very good hotel, placed in a real good place very close the old town ( not 5 minutes walking) at sea side between the pubs and Cartagena night live and the Old Town, the old clock. Sweet swimming pool and smooth hotel people.

Nice hotel in a good location

I stayed here by myself and liked the hotel. I gave it 4 stars because there were some slight hiccups with the safe and the lock to the door of my room. But the people here were nice and easy going. The location is very safe which I wasn't sure about because I had never been to Cartagena (or Colombia at all). I liked staying here more than the wall city. This hotel is a little cheaper because some of the facilities like the pool and the buffet breakfast are at the sister hotel (just a 2 to 3 minute walk down the same block). Since I was by myself I didn't mind having to go to the other hotel. If I was staying with family I would pay up for the Allure Chocolate (the sister hotel). The rooms are clean and decent size. You do have to climb some stairs but it's not a big deal unless you are elderly or have strollers or something. The breakfast was pretty good, and you can get omelets in addition to whatever is out. I included a Pic of the hotel pool at allure chocolate. It's really nice. I also went to the Santa Isabel food truck right across the street. It is really nice, it's relatively new so it was just local Colombians. They had high end food trucks and drink options. I got a great mojito in a hipster style Mason jar. It's amazing how nice it is, so I took a few pics, it's a nice option that is literally across the street - but it's only open at night.
