We were booked at Allegro but stayed at The Occidental. It was supposed to be an upgrade hotel. Service was bad and the hotel was so spread out. The food was bad and the beach sand was gritty and brown. The water was beautiful. Very disappointed

Was very disappointed that we could only get 2 dinner reservations to the al a carte restaurants during our stay. Was not impressed with the food on the main buffet. Did like the lunch buffet. Our rooms didn't get cleaned until close to 4 when we would want to go back to the room to shower and get ready for dinner which was annoying. Had to call front desk a few times for towels. Also there were a few times I called the front desk and got no answer.

The service we received at Allegro Cozumel was amazing! The entire resort is beautiful and maintained to such a high standard! All of the hotel staff in every area was extremely kind and happy to help you with anything you need and really takes great care of you. We were very impressed at the amount of work they do at the resort, they never stop working. You really feel welcome! It was never crowded nor did we have to wait on anything. The beach is beautiful and the water is stunning! Snorkeling there was absolutely incredible! Highly recommended in every possible way! We were there for 8 nights and 9 days and didn't want to leave! Just book it and go!

After traveling all day we got to our hotel and they told us they were overbooked they had didn't have a room for us ! We were very disappointed and extremely tired. They sent us to a sister resort thankfully it was a star up from the allegro that is the only thing that saved them !!!

Just returned home from our second visit to the Allegro in Cozumel. This is a very nice smaller resort that allows you to be close to everything without feeling cramped. The beach is nice, with much sea life to see if you like to snorkel. I ran into a few rays, squid, a lobster and two eels, along with many tropical fish, just in our swimming area. The rooms are not overly large, but the only time we needed them was to change and sleep. Each room has a balcony or porch with a hammock and a small table and chairs. The staff are great and work very hard to make your stay comfortable. The food is typical all inclusive options and plentiful, so no one goes hungry. I even saw the cook staff preparing special items for a couple who had dietary constrictions. We went back because the price was great, but will be returning because we love it. (Only sad about one thing. They removed the palapas from the beach. We ended up up next too a pool instead of in the sand so we could have cover.)

Great beach vacation for the price!

Located on terrific beach. Staff friendly and accomadating. Food good but sometimes had difficulty keeping warm in big dinning room. Would like to see more sausage and bacon served at breakfast. Pool water was very cold. Hot tub cold too.

Break In/Terrible experience/Bad service

Dec 29 2016
I have traveled extensively throughout Mexico including Cozumel many times. The service is terrible, the food just OK, and the staff the worst I have seen. This hotel is not safe at all. We had paid for a superior premium room and we got a poorly lit back of the hotel dark room. My room was broken into by the window latch and all my cash was stolen. I asked to speak with a manager...no one gave me the time of day. They tried not to honor the 2 dinner reservations that we had been promised. When we received them our name was not on the list and the service took two hours. Many families were walking out. Even the general buffet you have to wait in line. I ordered a drink on the beach and never received it. Also the food was poor quality. There was only one show on the beach...fire dancing. I would not recommend this hotel even if it was free.

A week in cozumel

Thu Jan 18 04:28:41 EST 2018
Great experience overall. Found some bugs in the sheets a few nights. seemed like they were falling from the bamboo ceiling. harmless ants. The pick up shuttle which is an affiliate of allegro stranded us at the port of entry at 9pm which could have been a dangerous situation for us. We took a taxi after waiting 30min. none of their numbers worked. Scuba was awesome as well as the food. I would recommend. Everyone was more than friendly. Great week full of adventures.

The most convenient place to stay if you want quick access to a dive shop and the shortest ride to the reefs. ProDive was excellent to work with and our accommodations were beautiful and comfortable. The iguanas lying about and friendly coatis that were seen daily made it great for my kids.
