Skip the upgrade...

This was our second visit to the Allegro, while the staff is awsome, there are few things lacking. We did the upgrade package hoping for bigger/nicer rooms. Nope, neither. Our toilet had to be repaired 3 times and would still keep running sometimes. Shower temps fluctuated quite a bit. The music played in the club is SO LOUD it reverberates in your ears! Anywhere music played, it's horribly LOUD. The food isn't great, but none of us lost any weight. Lol. Would be nice if the club started playing dance music before 10pm. The beach is very nice. Bring your own snorkel stuff as the wait in line for it can be quite long. Overall Allego Cozumel is a nice place and I wouldn't mind going back someday. Carlos makes wonderful flaming coffee!!

Quantity of food and labeling of food/premier signage
DENNIS S.

One complaint is that when food was gone on the buffet, it was slow or never to be refilled. Wish food would be labeled to how spicy it is. We upgraded to a premier room, premier options could have been labeled better with signs. There were three access points and only one labeled.

Review of Allegro- Not worth it...
JOEL K.
Jan 24 2018
Our recent stay at Allegro was very very disappointing. We staying for 8 days at the end of December with a group of 12 friends and family members. Food: the only decent meals we had were at the restaurants that requires reservations (of which are limited and very difficult to get into). There are three restraunts that require reservations, yet we we're limited to only two reservations for our room for the 8 days we were there! The buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner needs a lot of work on quality and variety of food. Foods were not restocked often during buffet hours. So, if you did not go soon after the buffet opened, your options were very slim and there was a wait to even get a table. Service: 0/10...I have never stayed at a resort with such poor service. Many times, we had to flag down a waiter to even get water a with our meal. Front desk staff was rude and unfriendly upon arrival and check out. On our departure day we called for a bell boy as instructed with plenty of time before check out, waited and waited for 20 minutes for the bell boy to arrive before decided to carry all of our luggage up ourselves. Entertainment: Basically non-existent...huge let down for a family/kids resort. The night time entertainment shows were very poorly put together and was the same thing repeated almost every night. We were there 8 days and they only had one entertainment and it was Thursday afternoon foam pool party which is “one” of the stars- i expected that type of entertainment daily! Rooms and amenities: I have never stayed at such a "cheap" place. The villas are right on top of one another and walls so thin that we could hear every little sound. From building 35 (centrally located near the butter edge) we heard the same music over and over from the pool all day long, the excessively loud music from the shows and mini disco at night and between all of that, you can hear conversations word for word from the surrounding rooms, the shower turning on, phones ringing and toilets flushing in the buildings next to us at all hours of the day. Absolutely no "quiet time", making it very frustrating with kids. Although kept clean, the rooms are very small and water temperature never remained stable while showering & to mention we complained about our shower not working for 3 days! It wasn’t until the 3rd time i went down to the front desk and waited until they made a direct call to matience versus writing it down that they did something about it and fixed it with electrical tape (which was fine but if I’m paying to stay at a nice resort, it was quite the cheap fix, and a crappy shower for 3 days strait and waste of my time complaining about it)! Overall, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. The best parts of our trip were the excursions and activities we did OFF the resort. There many many other all inclusive resorts within the same price range that will allow a much better vacation experience.

Allegro - Cozumel

Service at Allegro was stupendous as always as this is our 4th trip with Apple to Cozumel Allegro. The Beach is beautiful, no rocks, great snorkeling, saw many fish! Bartenders at Allegro go beyond our expectations each and every year, starting with Freddy, Armanda, Sergio & Juan Carlos. Kudos to these guys who work hard and make our trip enjoyable each and every time. Would like to see more Adult orientated shows in the Theatre in the future. Buffett food was good, Reservation restaurants were Excellent. Service in both was also above and beyond! Love the Mayan Coffee!!!!! We will be back next year for sure!

We were booked at Allegro but stayed at The Occidental. It was supposed to be an upgrade hotel. Service was bad and the hotel was so spread out. The food was bad and the beach sand was gritty and brown. The water was beautiful. Very disappointed

Was very disappointed that we could only get 2 dinner reservations to the al a carte restaurants during our stay. Was not impressed with the food on the main buffet. Did like the lunch buffet. Our rooms didn't get cleaned until close to 4 when we would want to go back to the room to shower and get ready for dinner which was annoying. Had to call front desk a few times for towels. Also there were a few times I called the front desk and got no answer.

The service we received at Allegro Cozumel was amazing! The entire resort is beautiful and maintained to such a high standard! All of the hotel staff in every area was extremely kind and happy to help you with anything you need and really takes great care of you. We were very impressed at the amount of work they do at the resort, they never stop working. You really feel welcome! It was never crowded nor did we have to wait on anything. The beach is beautiful and the water is stunning! Snorkeling there was absolutely incredible! Highly recommended in every possible way! We were there for 8 nights and 9 days and didn't want to leave! Just book it and go!

Wanted to like this place but couldn’t

Checking into this place was horrible. We got there a little before check in and front desk told us we had to wait until 3 to check in. So I asked if we can get something to eat but they told us we should wait in lobby because we will be getting our room in a few minutes. A few minutes turned into about an hour 30 min-2 hours. Don’t really remember. After waiting so long I thought the room would be ready. But nope I was wrong. As soon as we got into the room one part of the floor was so dirty I felt like I was stepping in dirt. Not only that but there wasn’t even any toilet paper in the bathroom. On top of all that, we had to ask the front desk another 3 4 times to get the toilet paper. So we basically waited another 5 hours after check in to get toilet paper. And the night manager made me feel like I was complaining too much or something. We didn’t have any toilet paper to use the bathroom and had to wait 5 hours to get it. Seems like the maids just do your bed and leave. They did not clean our floors before we checked into our room. The food was not that great either. The only good part was a roasted pig they had that they cut in front of you. Everything else was either mediocre or bad. We ended up eating out our last night there because we wanted good food. There’s no night life except a bar only weekends. And the pool closes at like 8 or 9. And all the clubs, shops, restaurants are about a 20-30 min cab drive away. The beach and sand was nice and the drinks were good too. And the staff were all friendly. Just the front desk was horrible; friendly but slow and don’t really help much. If you’re standing there waiting for them, even if they aren’t doing anything they make you wait to talk to them. We couldn’t get the day manger to tell him about toilet paper. I would only recommend this place to people with children if I were to recommend it to someone. Or if you’re looking for a cheap place to stay in Cozumel with a nice beach and don’t care about staying in your hotel room from 9pm til the morning. Only reason I’m giving it 2 stars is for the beach/pool, drinks and staff are friendly.

Family friendly, great staff, beautiful beach and the list just goes on and on!! There was so much to do during our stay that we just cant wait to return and pickup where we left off. We love Cozumel very much and Allegro is our second home.

This was our second state and both times were horrible. We stayed there December 2017 and had hoped that things might improve, since the hotel property were so full and busy over the Christmas holiday, but unfortunately nothing has improved, in fact our rooms more dirtier than they were when we stayed there in December. We had absolutely no Internet connection what so ever inside the hotel or on the beach. The front staff is extremely rude and inconsiderate and never once took any of our concerns seriously. Our room never looked like they were cleaned and toiletries were never replaced after we ran out. We loved our stay at Allegro. The grounds are very well taken care of, everyone was very nice and helpful. The beach is amazing!!! It’s like being on your own private island. No other resorts beside you. We snorkeled every day and saw several types of fish and shells. Plenty of chairs everyday. Jorge was very accommodating, and made sure our party had everything we needed. The bartenders and waitstaff were also great, they knew our drinks by day 2. Our rooms were clean kept clean and air was cold. This is a smaller resort , which is nice if you like to have everything within a couple minute walk. Evening shows were fun , as well as the disco. Restaurants were very good and buffets have plenty of options. Hamburgers at lunch buffet were great. We had a wonderful stay, no complaints and will definitely be returning.

The staff at Allegro went above and beyond to be helpful, professional and friendly. The wait staff in all the restaurants were attentive and effecient. The omlette chef, Jaquline, was always cheerful with kind words as she served up costumized omlette, no matter how busy she was. We watched or participated in many of the activities hosted by the team of Cesar, Pablo, Victor and Alejandro. Their energy was infectious and they made everyone feel welcome. Pablo went out of his way to be kind to our son which made him feel very special. I highly recommend participating in the activties pool/seaside, especially the foam party and balloon game. If you're travelling with children they'll enjoy the kid's pool and clubhouse, where Margarita will watch your child and do fun activities with them. The kid's disco at 8.30pm nightly is great fun and a good laugh. Also don't miss the nightly entertainment at 9.00pm. The shows were all so different and of high quality. This resort is fun fun fun a.m.-p.m. with amazing staff making it all happen seamlessly.
