Great hotel with nice beach but the buffet food was not good.
Feb 12 2019
We got a free upgrade to what seemed to be a suite which was very nice. I requested a quite room based on other reviews of it being noisy there and my room was quiet. The refrigerator was re stocked and the room was cleaned well every morning. The water pressure in the shower was low the first day but it seemed to be fixed after that. The beach was nice but you have to get there early to claim your chair. The night entertainment was fine. Mostly all things that I have experienced at other all inclusive resorts. The buffets at all inclusive resorts are not usually scrumptious but this buffet definitely let me down. Not a great selection for my taste and the a la cart restaurants were almost impossible to get into. Overall I would say that my stay was good, not great, not bad..but good.

Allegro Stay
Feb 06 2019
Food was good. Beach was Great. Activities were ok. Staff very attentive. Lots of smokers at the resort. Would have been nice if there were designated smoking area's. The too biggest spots for smoking seemed to be around the pool and at the front reception area (where you had to walk every time you wanted to eat). It was weird that the check in area for preferred members was not at the front desk (in a different building). First resort that we were at that every time we walked to eat or to the front desk area we were chased down by people (Allegro/Occidental people) to rent a jeep, etc, etc. Kind of annoying. Pool bar was a little strange - order a drink and they had to go up top to make it. Beach bar - Luis Frias very good - but could use more than one bartender. Sometimes a dozen people waiting in line. Our travel paperwork said that we would have wifi/internet in our room (that is why we upgraded). They charged us $40. Also charged us $10 cash per room when we got there. We didn't know anything about that.

Extremely Disappointing
Jan 30 2019
1. Room- Leaking roof! Broken shower head; bathroom door did not latch; broken coffee pot; saggy beds; no dresser for clothes 2. Grounds- Water slides in picture do not slide, concrete not plastic; not enough loungers (pool area or beach); trash/used limes thrown all over; towel staff rude/never enough clean towels or replacement cards; Bars- long lines/ran out of mixers or fruit EVERY DAY 3. Food - Below average/ empty serving dishes; leftover rehash the next day; other than burgers/hotdogs/fries very little kids friendly food 4. Service- Terrible! We purchased the upgrade for speedy checkin, lol. The guy was clueless. Our bags took an hour to arrive to our room. Time share sharks everywhere; Hector blew me off for reconfirming our return shuttle on the first day so I had to go back the next day. All of which seemed like a thinly disguised reason to try and sell us overpriced excursions. 5. Apple Separated our familys seats on return flight 2 adt 2 KIDS ages 5 and 8! We had to purchase an upgrade 4350 from United so we could have one parent sit with one kid and we were not together still. This was our kids first time on a commercial airline, first trip to the beach, first trip to Mexico and it was terribly disappointing. 5, Apple Vacation- On the return fli

Check in
Nov 21 2018
At Check-in, we had a complication & asked for an additional room for the week for three of us. Apple was going to charge $650 for 5 nights which seemed like a lot for five nights. Our trip total was $1,310.00 for 8nights.

I picked Allegro because it looked like they have an amazing beach and also good price . The beach was fantastic , great for everyone from small kids to adults. Not sure if it's like this during the busy times but in august there were plenty free beach chairs any time you come to the beach. It wasn't crowded at all. Lucky for us most guests were using pools so beach was not crowded at all. . If I wanted to swim in a pool I would have stayed home. Landscaping at this resort was excellent. They really put a lot of effort to make the grounds look amazing and clean. Rooms were small but sufficient with mini bar stocked daily. Maid service daily and also new towels every day. Food was average in my opinion. They had a lot of options, fresh vegetables, fruit. Many options to choose from for main dishes. I personally didn't find the food very tasty but it wouldn't be a reason not to visit this place again. I think there are plenty options for everyone to get full. If food is your top priority than it might not be the best place for you. This was my first time staying at all inclusive so not sure how other resorts compare as far as food goes. Allegro privides free beach towels but they do run out sometimes. Snorkling equipment they advertise is free but in reality you can get it for 1 hour every day for free. Anything beyond that you have to pay. Kayaks same thing you get one hour for free per day. They only have 4 kayaks so you might have to wait. Bringing your own snorkling gear might be a good idea if you like to snorkel a lot. Booking through Apple vacations gave us free airport to resorts transportation in both directions. Also, they have a representative in the hotel who can help you set up tours that are not included. Overall this was one of the best vacations for us. All inclusive is a way to go for a family vacation. It was very relaxing for a family of 4.

Skip the upgrade...
Feb 14 2018
This was our second visit to the Allegro, while the staff is awsome, there are few things lacking. We did the upgrade package hoping for bigger/nicer rooms. Nope, neither. Our toilet had to be repaired 3 times and would still keep running sometimes. Shower temps fluctuated quite a bit. The music played in the club is SO LOUD it reverberates in your ears! Anywhere music played, it's horribly LOUD. The food isn't great, but none of us lost any weight. Lol. Would be nice if the club started playing dance music before 10pm. The beach is very nice. Bring your own snorkel stuff as the wait in line for it can be quite long. Overall Allego Cozumel is a nice place and I wouldn't mind going back someday. Carlos makes wonderful flaming coffee!!

Quantity of food and labeling of food/premier signage
Jan 24 2018
One complaint is that when food was gone on the buffet, it was slow or never to be refilled. Wish food would be labeled to how spicy it is. We upgraded to a premier room, premier options could have been labeled better with signs. There were three access points and only one labeled.

Review of Allegro- Not worth it...
Jan 24 2018
Our recent stay at Allegro was very very disappointing. We staying for 8 days at the end of December with a group of 12 friends and family members. Food: the only decent meals we had were at the restaurants that requires reservations (of which are limited and very difficult to get into). There are three restraunts that require reservations, yet we we're limited to only two reservations for our room for the 8 days we were there! The buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner needs a lot of work on quality and variety of food. Foods were not restocked often during buffet hours. So, if you did not go soon after the buffet opened, your options were very slim and there was a wait to even get a table. Service: 0/10...I have never stayed at a resort with such poor service. Many times, we had to flag down a waiter to even get water a with our meal. Front desk staff was rude and unfriendly upon arrival and check out. On our departure day we called for a bell boy as instructed with plenty of time before check out, waited and waited for 20 minutes for the bell boy to arrive before decided to carry all of our luggage up ourselves. Entertainment: Basically non-existent...huge let down for a family/kids resort. The night time entertainment shows were very poorly put together and was the same thing repeated almost every night. We were there 8 days and they only had one entertainment and it was Thursday afternoon foam pool party which is “one” of the stars- i expected that type of entertainment daily! Rooms and amenities: I have never stayed at such a "cheap" place. The villas are right on top of one another and walls so thin that we could hear every little sound. From building 35 (centrally located near the butter edge) we heard the same music over and over from the pool all day long, the excessively loud music from the shows and mini disco at night and between all of that, you can hear conversations word for word from the surrounding rooms, the shower turning on, phones ringing and toilets flushing in the buildings next to us at all hours of the day. Absolutely no "quiet time", making it very frustrating with kids. Although kept clean, the rooms are very small and water temperature never remained stable while showering & to mention we complained about our shower not working for 3 days! It wasn’t until the 3rd time i went down to the front desk and waited until they made a direct call to matience versus writing it down that they did something about it and fixed it with electrical tape (which was fine but if I’m paying to stay at a nice resort, it was quite the cheap fix, and a crappy shower for 3 days strait and waste of my time complaining about it)! Overall, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. The best parts of our trip were the excursions and activities we did OFF the resort. There many many other all inclusive resorts within the same price range that will allow a much better vacation experience.

Allegro - Cozumel
Jan 19 2018
Service at Allegro was stupendous as always as this is our 4th trip with Apple to Cozumel Allegro. The Beach is beautiful, no rocks, great snorkeling, saw many fish! Bartenders at Allegro go beyond our expectations each and every year, starting with Freddy, Armanda, Sergio & Juan Carlos. Kudos to these guys who work hard and make our trip enjoyable each and every time. Would like to see more Adult orientated shows in the Theatre in the future. Buffett food was good, Reservation restaurants were Excellent. Service in both was also above and beyond! Love the Mayan Coffee!!!!! We will be back next year for sure!

Enjoyable 2 Weeks
Robert B, Germantown Hill

We just completed a 2 week stay at Allegro Cozumel. We found property clean and pretty well maintained. It was very easy to get to any activity at the resort very easily. Food was average which is understandable when hosting people from many different countries and having large a large selection. We never had a problem finding something we liked. All employees on property were nice and courteous and helped with any thing we needed. Cabs to downtown were very easy to access at resort and downtown to return. We will definitely return next year.

Perfect, romantic dive vacation

We stayed in the First Club accommodations and were treated like royalty throughout our stay. Outstanding, friendly staff throughout the resort. Thatched roof rooms create a fun atmosphere. Menu choices were abundant, with something for every diet. You could eat KETO, vegetarian, standard American, or exclusively Mexican food. None of it was great, but it was fair for the price. Oriental restaurant had hibachi grill, which was the best food in the place, as well as entertaining. Italian restaurant was very disappointing. Mexican restaurant was so-so. Got a great massage at the spa with only 12 hours advance reservation. The location is absolutely beautiful and well maintained, with a dive operation right on site. The SCUBA staff could not be beat, and breathtakingly beautiful dive sites are only minutes away. We saw huge rays, lobsters, crabs, octopi, and nurse sharks in addition to fabulous corals, swim throughs, and abundant fish. Day and night dives with exceptional service. Divemasters spoke English, Spanish, French and German. There is a very international feel to the dive operation, with staff and guests from all over the world. Water park and children's activities looked fabulous. Pools are large, lovely and clean. Tennis courts are well maintained. Evening entertainment is in a lovely, outdoor theater. They show family movies early, with live entertainment around 9:00. Entertainment and activities around the beach and pools are led by fun staff on a P.A. system and can be heard everywhere in the resort from about noon until 5:00 p.m. every day. If you are seeking a quiet beach get-away this is NOT the place for you (unless you plan to spend a lot of time kayaking, sailing or underwater.) Those sensitive to insecticide might want to avoid this place. Mosquitos (and consequently, probably Zika virus) are well controlled, probably through the use of dangerous chemicals, which we could smell. There was very little birdsong or frog croaking for such a lush environment. Frequent use of insecticide has probably led to a decrease in birds and reptiles, although there were a few iguanas lounging around and we saw a few tiny lizards. We will probably return, as we had a wonderful experience. We paid extra for the Valentine's dinner on the beach. It was incredible in every way, and worth every penny.

Great place and wonderful staff!

This was our first stay in Cozumel. Everyone at Allegro was helpful when we asked questions about what to do and see. The Italian restaurant was our favorite. The nightly shows were very enjoyable and the Disco was great fun playing oldies but goodies.

Friends trip feb 2019

Would go back to this resort. Beach and bar service at the beach were amazing! Snorkeling was incredible and the colouring of the water breath taking. Staff was friendly but not annoying Rooms were damp (as to be expected), nothing fancy but had all that was needed. Comfortable bed and great pillows! Bar fridge was always restocked with beer and water. Resort was clean. Pool was great temperature. Food was pretty good. Lots of variety! Did the Italian and asian a la carte which were both entertaining and great food!

Cozumel is amazing and this resort was a great choice!!
Mon Feb 18 04:05:01 EST 2019
Allegro Cozumel not only looked just like the pictures we saw on Trip Advisor before we went, but the staff were super friendly and helpful, the rooms were very clean and lovely and the amenities on the resort property were all you need! We also very much appreciated the Discover Scuba experience right on the corner of the resort so we had easy access to the excursions. We'd return here for sure.
